  Although not my area of expertise (and you're welcome to ignore it and just after to the other forum), I did do research in any case and believe that the problem involves the corruption on your hard drive (although I could certainly be wrong - it is more likely to be the case if the full error message includes "drive cannot find sector requested" but you don't get the full error message, so I don't know). To try to fix it, if that is the problem, follow these steps:

  Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

  While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run. They tried to set itself to run at the next reboot. Answer Yes and restart to run the program. It will scan and attempt to resolve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a potential cause.

  If this does not work, test better clean your hard drive. To test your hard drive, check the manufacturer and try to diagnosis HD (http://www.carrona.org/hddiag.html) or this test: hard drive diagnostics tools and utilities (storage) - Corp of TACKtech (http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287). If it passes the tests, there's probably nothing wrong with it and you must do to the other support forum. If it fails, which include in your post on the other forum and let them advise you how to proceed.

  I hope that the above solves the problem. If this isn't the case, I am confident, they can help you in the other forum, because that's what they specialize in. It would help if you posted the message Word for Word that is accurate and complete, including all codes. In addition, it would help them if you explain the difficulty you mention services involving (a link to the site where you found the solution or at least what exactly you did and what has happened or not happened when you tried).   There is no method to create the installation media (the original installation media does not exist).  The computer maker several times will include a program to help create your own recovery media, but which varies from one company to the other.  You could contact them to ask if you don't see the program, or they can also send you a copy (Dell sent me a free CD by fed - ex overnight when I asked for one for a Dell Latitude Laptop - laptop I has not yet bought them even!)

  It is not the responsibility of Microsoft to write drivers for other manufacturers ' products, but the manufacturer; and in your case it would be that HP is to write a new driver for Windows 7 for this model scanjet, which of course, they did not choose to do so - they may believe that the product is beyond its life cycle, maybe something else.

  As a possible workaround, if they list a driver for Windows Vista (and the correct version of bits, that is, 32-bit or 64-bit) I'd give a try (after creating a new restore point). Once again, it is what I would try, proceed at your own risk.

  I noticed it says to install two updates - we did it, we failed.

  Hi Starmind_1,

  I n t have remote to test my Qosmio F50 so that I can t but if there is no driver for Windows 7, I guess that the 64 bit Vista driver should work fine on Windows 7. In addition most Vista drivers also work on Windows 7 so it s worth a try! :)

  But from my own experience, I can say that Windows 7 64 bit works like a charm on Qosmio F50 and in my opinion better than Vista. I used all the drivers from the official website of Toshiba and don t have problems.
