  But, you can use the Win Vista or XP Driver.

In Control Panel, the printer status says "error".  I think that it could possibly be a problem with the printer port settings. So, my question is, what is the right configuration of the port for my Photosmart C6180 using 32-bit Windows 8?

  I need the video/display drivers for my Dell Inspiron 6000 with Windows 8.  Laptop is the Intel Pentium M processor 2.00 GHz RAM, operating system, 32-bit on x 86.  My resolution is not at the right level and videos have hard play.

  I went to the ATI site and when I try to download their drivers, they will not be installed because they do not recognize the Windows 8 operating system.  The site of Dell's Windows XP operating system.

  I have a Photosmart 7550 which I am trying to connect it to my Windows computer via a USB port.  I tried to download the drivers on the site of HP and when I press on the other and back to the same page to provide me with the driver. I entered the site of HP in the trusted sites list and made sure that the pop - up is off. However no matter how hard I try, it continues in a loop on the same page while providing me a way to get the driver.

  I have to agree with banhien here, but many old printers that have no downloadable drivers still have drivers for printers built into the operating system. You can try the printer on the PC and see if your system recognizes and automatically configures a default driver.

  I recently bought a HP Envy m6-1232sa laptop. After trying to adapt to the new operating system W8 I realized that really don't like it and so decided to downgrade to W7 instead. I understand that because of the W8 rather than W8 Pro I am unable to exercise my right to downgrade + get a product code for Microsoft, that's why, I bought an OEM 64 bit W7 Pro OS from a retailer.

  I logged on the HP support Web site to try and download all the drivers that are required before the downgrade and discovered that unfortunately HP are not all drivers for laptop / OS I bought. A real disappointment!

  I was determined to go ahead with my plan regardless but having conducted research on the forums that I fell on a potential plus one, which means, according to experts, potentially it may not even be possible to reach what I decided to do a few others.  Please could someone provide me with some guidance on what to do! Can I get rid of the W8? And, if so, where can I download the compatible/required drivers for the laptop that I bought.

  You don't say what you use to install Windows XP Pro, but the normal installation media of Windows XP does not include device drivers for everything, especially for laptop/notebook computers.

  You need to get the drivers from the manufacturer of the computer (or computers that are built or made by small manufacturers, manufacturers of the individual hardware components).
