  The solution for slow printing is the print spooler reset.

  When we press the Windows key + R, a window opens. This is called the immediate window.

  I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers and check. Lexmark is not Windows 7 compatible drivers for the printer. So, you can download the drivers for Windows Vista and install in compatibility mode.

  Follow the steps to install in compatibility mode:
  a. right click on the driver installation file and select Properties and then tap or click on the compatibility tab.
  b. check the box run this program in compatibility mode .
  c. press or click the menu drop down and select a previous operating system, and then tap or click OK.

  I went to the Lexmark site and checked if there was Vista drivers for Lexmark 5150 printer. Actually they'd change drivers for this model available for download. Here is a link to the Lexmark site page:

  Once you have navigated to the page, find the list printers Lexmark 5100 series in the list. Click on the link to download and install the drivers. If you encounter error messages please carefully note the verbatim so you can post them here. This will allow us to help you more troubleshooting.

  I think I see what's happening. You have recently upgraded to Windows 8, and you don't have to uninstall and reinstall the software for your printer for the new OS. Now, nothing works as it should. Fortunately, this is a fairly simple solution. Uninstall the printer software and reinstall it using the packaging designed for Windows 8. I'll link the software below. Let me know what happens.
