drop-down list dataProvider and an object of value

I am filling a dropdown menu with values that are stored in an object of value.   I'm pulling the values from the table of a database vai SQLite the SQLResult object and they come as an array of objects of value. This is exaclty what I want, so I refer to those within a property of my object model and shipping and the event carrying this table.   I place the array of objects of value in a collection of table as follows:

var dropDownListValues:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection(event.foodCategoryList);

Try to access it via a drop-down list lists dataProvider property as follows:

foodCategory.FoodCategory_DropDown.dataProvider = dropDownListValues;

My drop-down list then displays

[object Object]
[object Object]
[object Object]
[object Object]
[object Object]
[object Object]

My dropDownListValues object has the following table:

[0]
     Foodcatagory = "Grains"
     FoodCatagory_ID = 1

[1]
     Foodcatagory = "Vegetables"
     FoodCatagory_ID = 2

etc. all the way up to index 5

How can I get the drop-down list to display only the Grains, vegetables... etc.?

Thank you

I had to search around for a few hours today on the same subject.

Basically just set the labelField of the drop-down list the name of the field for its values

foodCategory.FoodCategory_DropDown.labelField = "Foodcatagory";

    I am very new to Labview. I tried to write a VI which reads in 3 columns of data from a spredsheet excel (.csv) as an array of strings. I was able to understand it and then isolated the 2nd and 3rd column to transform data in double format. I want to do is use a list box dropdown refrence the 2nd column of data and find the 3rd so that it can be multiplied by my waveform in post processing. I want to make it easy for the user to configure the sensitivity of the gauge. I enclose my VI and an example of data that I'm reading in. Please give me a helping hand.

  • Check generate some Comp based on the drop-down list box and the selection list?

    I currently have a dropdown list with the three sizing options in it. Then I have two check boxes, one is ticked ideally would create the model to its normal size composition and if other is checked that it would reverse the widthxheight in the size of the composition. Then below that I have a "Generate" button, I want to be able to click and according to my selections, it creates the model.

    Looks like I need a kind of if then statement, but I'm having a hard time putting the two together. See below what I have so far.

    There may be missing parts, but I have it all working in a decibel pallate currently. I don't have functionality related to a button again.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    When I work with drop-down menus, I always liked to tie the data they represent (like the width and height of the model in this case) directly to the elements.

    I run the code to really check, but it should work like this:

    -----------------

    Add models to your drop-down list and store the items in a table

    models var = [];

    models [0] = templateGen.compList.add('item','template1');

    models [1] = templateGen.compList.add('item','template2');

    models [2] = templateGen.compList.add('item','template3');

    set a width and height of each element

    models [0] .width = 1280;

    models [0] .height = 720;

    models [1] .width = 1024;

    models [1] .height = 768;

    models [2] .width = 1920;

    models [2] .height = 1080;

    Choose the item that should be selected by default

    models [0] .selected = true;

    applyBtn.onClick = function() {}

    read the width and height of the selected item

    var width = templateGen.compList.selection.width;

    var height = templateGen.compList.selection.height;

    {if (templateGen.VerticalCheckbox.value)}

    swap width and height

    var temp = width;

    width = height;

    height = temp;

    }

    now create your comp here with the given width and height

    }

I compared the coding with a few other scripts work as well, but it does not work. I added several alert boxes to check the value we get.

    In addition, search for it and change also does not work. Please help me on this. Thank you.

    var RevYear = myYear.editContents;
    var RevNumber = MyRev.editContents;
    "var RevToReplace1 = RevMonth + ', '+ RevYear;

    "var RevToReplace2 = RevMonth + ', '+ RevYear + 'Rev' + RevNumber;

    ...

  • fill the drop-down list in a table - insert the value in another

    Probably, this should be easy, but do not know if my problem is with my design of the database or with my query from CF, etc.. The drop-down list is filled correctly, but nothing is not subject to the table "order". It is an Access database and the appropriate reports are configured in the db. Let me know if you need more details on my installation of db. I'll do the same thing later on the page with USERS ("outers checker"). I put this up to people Records check equipment ("equipment"). A table has the equipment, the other is supposed to record checkout of the shares ("order"). Here is the code for the drop down menu on the first page and in the action page and the request:

    Query = "qry_item."
    value = "id".
    display = "description" >

    FORMFIELDS = "id, fname, lname, phone, electronic mail" >

    It's pretty simple. You have a form called "Item" field
    Do you see 'Point' in the setting your tag FORMFIELDS?

    If you don't tell the tag to insert a field that's usually what you
    tell him and does not insert the field.

  • Customize the Format of text, drop-down lists

    Hey all,.

    I have problems of customization of the top botton label of a water drop down. I can customize cell converters labels, but the top label is not affected and is always Times New Roman... Any ideas what I'm missing here?

    Here is a screenshot:

    Here's my CellRenderer customized for the drop down:

    public class CustomDropDownCellRenderer extends DropDownCellRenderer
        {
            public function CustomDropDownCellRenderer()
            {
                super();
            }

            override protected function init():void{

                var format:TextFormat=new TextFormat();
                format.font="font_helveticaNeue";
                format.size=16;
                format.color=0x000000;

                super.init();

                setTextFormatForState(format, SkinStates.DISABLED);
                setTextFormatForState(format, SkinStates.UP);
                setTextFormatForState(format, SkinStates.DOWN);
                setTextFormatForState(format, SkinStates.SELECTED);
                setTextFormatForState(format, SkinStates.DISABLED_SELECTED);
                this.label.label_txt.embedFonts=true;
            }
        }

    Here's where I put the drop down skin:

    brushDropDown=new DropDown();           brushDropDown.setListSkin(CustomDropDownCellRenderer);
    brushDropDown.setButtonSkin(CustomDropDownButtonSkin);          brushDropDown.addEventListener(Event.SELECT, brushDropDownEventHandler);
    brushDropDown.dataProvider=brushShapes;

    I thought I might have to customize the DropDownButtonSkin, but this class does not have a label...

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hey,.

    I've done some research more and similarly to another thread involving the selector, the own only cut the way to do it is by creating a class sup from the drop-down list. However, this one is kind of weird. Once again, with assistance from flash builder, I could see the protected class drop-down list properties and the objective here is the purpose of __button. now the weird part is that its type is a DropDownButton. they took that as an accessible API since the new update. but I managed to make some changes anyway.

    so the solution, create a void called CustomDropDown class that extends the class from the drop-down list. After that, in the constuctor, use the this.__button.getTextFormatForState () method to manipulate the textformat of the button. Here is an example:

    ListTests.as:

    package{   import flash.display.Sprite;  import flash.display.StageAlign;  import flash.display.StageScaleMode;

      import qnx.ui.data.DataProvider;  import qnx.ui.listClasses.DropDown;   import qnx.ui.listClasses.List;

      [SWF(width="1024",height="600",backgroundColor="#E8E8E8",frameRate="30")] public class ListTests extends Sprite {     private var myList:CustomDropDown;       private var myDataProvider:DataProvider;      private var myArray:Array;

          public function ListTests()       {         super();

              // support autoOrients            stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;            stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE;

              myList = new CustomDropDown();           myArray = new Array();

              myArray.push({label: "Thomas Luddington"});           myArray.push({label: "Master Maruyn"});           myArray.push({label: "Master Gardyner"});         myArray.push({label: "Captain Vaughan"});         myArray.push({label: "Master Kendall"});          myArray.push({label: "Master Prideox"});          myArray.push({label: "Robert Holecroft"});            myArray.push({label: "Rise Courtenay"});          myArray.push({label: "Master Hugh Rogers"});          myArray.push({label: "Thomas Foxe"});         myArray.push({label: "Edward Nugen"});            myArray.push({label: "Darby Glande"});            myArray.push({label: "Edward Kelle"});            myArray.push({label: "Iohn Gostigo"});            myArray.push({label: "Erasmus Clefs"});           myArray.push({label: "Edward Ketcheman"});            myArray.push({label: "Iohn Linsey"});         myArray.push({label: "Thomas Rottenbury"});           myArray.push({label: "Roger Deane"});         myArray.push({label: "Iohn Harris"});

              myDataProvider = new DataProvider(myArray);

              myList.dataProvider = myDataProvider;

              myList.setPosition(10,10);            myList.width = 300;

              addChild(myList);

          } }}

    CustomDropDown.as:

    package{   import qnx.ui.listClasses.DropDown;   import qnx.ui.skins.SkinStates;

      public class CustomDropDown extends DropDown {     public function CustomDropDown()      {         super();

              this.__button.getTextFormatForState(SkinStates.UP).font = "Comic Sans MS";            this.__button.getTextFormatForState(SkinStates.SELECTED).font = "Comic Sans MS";          this.__button.getTextFormatForState(SkinStates.DOWN).font = "Comic Sans MS";          this.__button.getTextFormatForState(SkinStates.DOWN_SELECTED).font = "Comic Sans MS";                  } }}

    And Yes, clearly I'm a fan of Comic-who isn't?

    Yet once, it is going to work identical to the drop-down list but instead allows you to set your own font. in fact, you can create a new method which is what I did in the above code, so you can change the font on the fly without having to make five different subclasses just to change the textformat! hope that helps. Good luck!

  • How can I create a menu drop-down list dynamics that controls two separate drop-down lists?

    Hello

    I could use help decipher how to control 2 separate drop-down lists ('b' and 'c') through the value selected in the main drop-down menu (that is, 'a').

    My script worked perfectly to control another menu drop down, however I can't seem to properly control the third zone.

    In my example below, what I'm trying to do is control 'Method - external' and 'Department - external', through my gout primary to the bottom of the list. The external 'method -' drop-down list works fine, it is the third 'Department - external' that I fight with.

    For example, if 'Theft' is chosen in the first drop-down menu, I want 'Method - external' to display the series points and "Department - external" to display a different set of items. If 'Cyber Crime' is selected in the main menu down, then the external 'method' - set items will change and the external "Department -" will indicate N/A.

    With the following script - no matter what happens if I choose 'Flight' or 'Cyber Crime' in the first menu drop down, 'Cyber Crime' n/d game elements are displayed in the external "Department -" drop-down.

    I apologize if this is hard to follow - it is certainly difficult to explain. I hope that my question came through.

    Here's my current script

    Switch (event.value) {}

    case 'flight ':

    this.getField("Method-External").setItems (["","grab and run", "shopping cart/basket Walk Out", "Possession", "Consumption", "Other"]);

    break;

    this.getField("Department-External").setItems (["","Agro", "Automobile", "Bakery", "Building materials", "Chemical", "Cleaning supplies", "Candy", "Dairy products", "Deli/Bistro", "ELECTRIC", "Electronics", "Farm equipment", "Fashion", "Feed", "Fertilizer"]);

    break;

    this.getField("Method-External").setItems (["", "credit card", "debit card", "Check", "Coupon", "Counterfeit", "Merchandise Return", "Price Switching", "Self Check-out", "Provider", "Other"]);

    this.getField("Department-External").setItems (["", "s/o"]);

    break;

    case 'flight ':

    this.getField("Method-External").setItems (["", 'threat of concealed weapon', 'Threat from weapon', "Verbal threats", "Acts of aggression", "Other"]);

    break;

    case 'exit and enter:

    break;

    case 'mischief ':

    this.getField("Method-External").setItems (["","graffiti", "Damage", "product a manipulation", "Other"]);

    break;

    case "Cyber Crime":

    this.getField("Method-External").setItems (["","Malware (Virus)", "Phishing", "Others" "]);

    break;

    this.getField("Department-External").setItems (["", "s/o"]);

    break;

    }

    Thank you

    You have a few break statements that should not be there. Try this:

    Switch (event.value) {}

    case 'flight ':

    this.getField("Method-External").setItems (["","grab and run", "shopping cart/basket Walk Out", "Possession", "Consumption", "Other"]);

    this.getField("Department-External").setItems (["","Agro", "Automobile", "Bakery", "Building materials", "Chemical", "Cleaning supplies", "Candy", "Dairy products", "Deli/Bistro", "ELECTRIC", "Electronics", "Farm equipment", "Fashion", "Feed", "Fertilizer"]);

    break;

    cases of "fraud":

    this.getField("Method-External").setItems (["", "credit card", "debit card", "Check", "Coupon", "Counterfeit", "Merchandise Return", "Price Switching", "Self Check-out", "Provider", "Other"]);

    this.getField("Department-External").setItems (["", "s/o"]);

    break;

    case 'flight ':

    this.getField("Method-External").setItems (["", 'threat of concealed weapon', 'Threat from weapon', "Verbal threats", "Acts of aggression", "Other"]);

    break;

    case 'exit and enter:

    this.getField("Method-External").setItems (["","Smash and Grab - vehicles", "Smash and Grab - pedestrian", "forced entry", "Unauthorized Keyed", "Other"]);

    break;

    case 'mischief ':

    this.getField("Method-External").setItems (["","graffiti", "Damage", "product a manipulation", "Other"]);

    break;

    case "Cyber Crime":

    this.getField("Method-External").setItems (["","Malware (Virus)", "Phishing", "Others" "]);

    this.getField("Department-External").setItems (["", "s/o"]);

    break;

    }

  • Set and get a drop down list

    Hello

    This is a general question to YOU, but since I work with FM, I'll try here first.

    I am able to create drop-down lists WITH and set/get the current selection, but I'm not clear on why he works in his own way. It seems that when I put the selection, he uses an index of current articles, but when I get to the selection, it gets the actual value.

    Consider this example, with comments:

    create a drop-down list for the dialog dlg

    dlg.dropDown = dlg.add ("dropdownlist', undefined, [10, 20, 30]);

    This sets the current value in the box of 30

    dlg.dropDown.selection = 2;

    However, this report 30, no 2

    Alert (DLG.dropDown.Selection);

    Anyone know about this? It is true that it's a clue when set and a value when obtained? I couldn't find anything in the documentation on the subject.

    Thank you

    Russ

    Nevermind, I got it. The property of 'selection' is actually a primitive ListItem, not only one type of data object I thought. For example, the default property of the ListItem is chosen differently in different scenarios. To clarify:

    dlg.dropDown.selection.index

    .. is the index

    dlg.dropDown.selection.text

    .. the text value is

    So I should use the complete property to be sure.

  • Code JavaScript for buttons, drop-down lists, and text fields

    Hello, I currently have a form with a drop-down list field that fills a text field with something according to what is selected in the drop-down list via a custom script typo.

    I want to add a button that something will enter the field of text according to what is selected in the menu dropdown. Copy and paste the script of hitting into the button do not work and returns an undefined value.

    I would also like to add that I am new to coding and it would be more useful if someone can provide a script for it or let me know if this is not possible. Thank you.

    OK, the script of mouse upwards for the button might look like this:

    (function () {}

    var aQuotes = [];

    aQuotes [0] = this.getField("Batch").value = util.printd ("Rmmddyy-96", f);

    aQuotes [1] = this.getField("Batch").value = util.printd ("Rmmddyy-95", f);

    aQuotes [2] = this.getField("Batch").value = util.printd ("Rmmddyy-94", f);

    aQuotes [3] = this.getField("Batch").value = util.printd ("Rmmddyy-93", f);

    aQuotes [4] = this.getField("Batch").value = util.printd ("Rmmddyy-92", f);

    aQuotes [5] = this.getField("Batch").value = util.printd ("Rmmddyy-91", f);

    aQuotes [6] = this.getField("Batch").value = util.printd ("Rmmddyy-90", f);

    Get the value (export) of the element selected in the drop-down list

    var point = getField("dropdown1").value;

    Set the value of a text field

    getField("Batch").value is aQuotes [point];.

    })();

    Replace "ListeDéroulante1" in the code above with the actual name of the relevant drop-down list field.

  • Select from a drop-down list and the specified element values are displayed in the textfield

    I need for one to be able to select from a list drop-down and specified the item values appear in textfield.

    For example, if I select Amy

    If I select Bob

    If I select Jane

    Amy

    Bob

    Jane (I want to appear as shown in the list)

    I associated a value to each item in the drop-down list so that the choice is easy to compare and determine what initial (default) value to the value in the text field. In my drop down list change event, I have the following:

    var sNewSel = this.boundItem (xfa.event.newText);

    Switch (sNewSel)

    {

    case '1': / / Amy

    TextField1.rawValue = "Amy \n";

    break;

    Switch (sNewSel)

    {

    case '2': / / Bob

    TextField1.rawValue = "Bob \n";

    break;

    Of course that's not work one name shows at a time. Help, please!

    Thank you

    Don't know what the code is supposed to do, but basically, you want to add the name of the drop-down list the addition on the current value of the TextField? Why not use the dropdownlist display value directly? For example on the change event:

    if ( TextField1.rawValue == null )
        TextField1.rawValue = xfa.event.newText;
    else
        TextField1.rawValue += ( "\n" + xfa.event.newText );

  • Drop-down list selection

    If someone has been able to successfully get the current selection in a drop-down list?  I have the drop-down list of channels and can change the selection in the Simulator.

    temp3 vartring = myDropDown.selectedItem.toString ();

    does not work.

    However,.

    var temp1:int = myDropDown.selectedIndex;

    correctly return the index of the selected item.

    I feel like I'm missing something obvious here.

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hey,.

    You can configure your tabular data provider and then everything just to get the index selected in the selected point drop-down list and then using that call the element of the array. for example, here is a list of colors in a drop-down list:

    var listOfThings:DropDown = new DropDown();

    var dp:DataProvider = new DataProvider();

    var arr:Array = new Array([{label:'green'},
        {label:'blue'},
        {label:'orange'},
        {label:'red'},
        {label:'yellow'},
        {label:'silver'}] );

    dp.setItems(arr);

    listOfThings.dataProvider = dp;

    now, if you were to get the index selected in the drop-down list item and select the table at this level:

    arr[listOfThings.selectedIndex].label;

    This should retrieve the label of the selected item.

  • Fill in textedit with selection field drop-down list

    Hello, everyone!

    Thank you much for the help that you give me for a long time.

    I have never seek and find great solutions.

    But this time, I have found nothing.

    I need to fill a field of textedit from a selection in a drop-down list.

    Is there a way to do this?

    My fragment:

    var myP0a = myGtop.add("panel", undefined, "JOURNAL");
    myP0a.margins = [10,15,10,10];
    var myTEMPLATE = myP0a.add("dropdownlist", ["","",200,25], ["", "Journal 01", "Journal 02", "Journal 03", "Journal 04", "Journal 05", "Journal 06"]);
    myTEMPLATE.selection = 0;

    var myGdoi = myG1.add("group");
    myGdoi.add("statictext", undefined, "DOI:");
    myGdoi.orientation = "row";
    var myDOI = myGdoi.add("edittext", undefined, "000");
    myDOI.characters = 34;

    Based on the selection of myTEMPLATE, I want to fill in the myDOI field.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance and sorry if this question is already answered in another topic.

    The selection of a drop-down list is a ListItem object (or null), therefore, you just collect the selection.text from the drop-down list in the onChange of the drop-down list manager:

    myTEMPLATE.onChange = function(){
        if (this.selection===null || this.selection.text.length===0){
            myDOI.text = "000";
            }
        else{
            myDOI.text = this.selection.text;
            };
        // and maybe more stuff here
        };

    or equivalently, in a shorter form:

    myTEMPLATE.onChange = function(){
         myDOI.text = (this.selection && this.selection.text) || "000";
        };

  • LiveCycle ES2 data drop-down list issue

    I'm trying to make a dynamic form based on a table in SQL 2008R2 database. I need to have a list that fills the data drop-down list database and then when this list item is selected, fill the rest of the document from the fields of the database based on the selection in the drop-down list. I understand the drop must be linked to the data connection, but I can't get the list items to act as if the documentation says they should. Here's what I've done so far:

    1. under tools/options that I have appointed the data binding should display dynamic content.

    2. I have created a data connection to the database and can see all the fields of data in the data view tab, and can also put these fields in the document.

    3 when I place the list on the drop-down list data form, I indicates the list to be bound to the data connection that I created previously, and the tab link has this: ' $record. DataConnection. databasefield'.»

    4. from what I understand, the field tab, list items should be a green hypertext link, and it isn't. I have no idea why, or how do I have to do from here.

    I also asked a lot of the software, or am I missing something to make it happen. I have struggled with this for a few days now and I am ready to move on for reporting. If anyone can help?

    Thanks for any advice or help

    Hi again,

    I opened your form and looked at the XML properties in the LiveCycle. I noticed that your form is only a form interactive but not considered a dynamic form.

    In order to use the dynamic properties option, you need to create a dynamic form.

    Unfortunately, your form is in fact an image and have no objects with the exception of the fields, so I did a quick for you.

    I suggest you create a new form and redo the form.

    Make sure you have dynamic properties when creating the new form, I don't know if master pages is the trick to get a PDF be interactive with the dynamic properties

    If you have trouble doing this, let me know

    I hope this will help you

  • Help with my drop-down list in the fluid grid view

    Print-screen-mobile-LO-070615.jpgPrint-screen-tablet-LO-070615.jpgPrint-screen-desktop--LO-070615.jpg

    I built the site of "fluid" and that's great, up and running and I am delighted!  A big thank you to the DW forum. URL is: tyndall.net.au

    Now, I want to add a drop-down in the three 3 sizes: mobile, Tablet and desktop. And I want it to develop the ' Services ' section. On the 'Services' page there are links to 21 different types of services.

    It is these types of different services, have to be displayed in the drop-down list button.

    Objective: in hover mode, the fall down to look identical to the head key, centered with a complete history! To inherit.

    You can see on the screenshots:

    In Mobile, there is a complete history, but it is not centered and not the same size

    Tablet & Desktop - background not complete, not centered, not the same size

    I can't find a tutorial on this issue. Tutorial of Daniel Walter - Scott in BYOL helped a long way, thanks mate.

    Can someone help me with this problem?

    It's these types of different services, I should show up in the drop-down buttons. >

    Drop-down lists that appear to move the mouse do not work on touchscreens because they do not have a mouse.  The current trend is to keep the navigation simple & simplified.  21 links dropdown under Services is going to be too expensive for mobile users.   Just keep the simple navigation with a link to the Services page you did and your users will have fewer problems with your site.

    Either way, justified text links seem strange.  See screenshot.   You can see that.

    Finally and most importantly, provide enough space between links to help mobile users.  Android recommended that links be 10mm high providing for easier faucet finger gestures.  When the links are stacked too close together, which makes it very difficult selecting the link desired without the aid of a stylus.
