dual boot windows xp and windows Vista Edition family premium does NOT

I try to install the dual boot of windows vista Home premium with windows xp.  And no matter if I try to upgrade to windows xp or windows vista, they want to run scan disk on the opposite partition.  Windows xp is on C: and E: is Windows Vista

XP you can skip scan disk and it will work. Vista requires you go back and run the disc scan

That's happened?
