Dump in Oracle 10 g Standard Edition of Oracle 9i 2nd version

Dear all,

Older Version: Oracle 9i 2nd Version

New Version: Oracle 10g Standard Edition (first Version)

Operating system: Wiindows 2000

I have exported to complete the 2nd Version of Oracle 9i database and tries to import Oracle 10 g version.

Actaully, I created two instances in the Oracle 10g Database as follows.

1 Sissi

2 Satishtest

Whenver I saw in the table v$ instance, I learned to know that two instances are primary_instances.

Whenever I try to import into Oracle 10 g, I use the statement below.

IMP userid = sys/manager as sysdba file = 'c:\data.dmp' = 'c:\data.log' full log = y;

This import statement was imported in satishtest instance only.

I want to import the dump file into instance Sissi...

1. how to import in particular instance?

I saw that there was no key word string connection for more DETAILS HELP IMPORT. (For example IMP HELP = Y).

Please give details.

2. I created an instance as ORCL. But, I want to rename this forum in an ORCLOLD instance.

Is this possible? How? Please provide the steps? What do we do, we considered before renaming this instance?

3. I asked website with Oracle Version 9i. This application has VB 6.0, ASP 3.0 and Crystal report 9.0 and Windows 2000.

Whenever we migrated to Oracle 9i to Oracle 10 g, what don't we considered (for example DLL Hell problems) lwhile migration of the entire application?

Please help on this...

I expect your valuable suggetions of your experience...

Thank you and best regards,
Orre Sissi

Could you please tell me how do we set the environment variables and where it is on windows?

http://it.Nees.org/documentation/HTML/3.2/ntcp-MATLAB/index/how%20To%20set%20Windows%20Environment%20Variables%20For%20Windows%20XP.htm

Is it possible rename the instance in oracle?

I don't know that I understand you well here. You want to rename an instance or the database itself?

While export 9i oralce export utility, I get the below error.

You cannot use a version export utility (10.1.0.2.0) against a database of lower version (9.2.0.1.0). You can take an export with the Oracle 9i itself export utility and which will be read by the utility to import to Oracle 10 g.

Certainly can (and probably should) use 12 c client.  Oracle certifies customers until two major releases far they connect to databases.  Are all of my db 11.2.0.4, but I've been installing only customers of 12 c for a couple of years now.

  • Installation 11.1.2.n Hyperion with a backend Oracle standard edition

    Hello

We did the installation on EPM with Oracle Enterprise relational database.  However, we have a facility with only a few end users and feasibility check if we can have Oracle Standard edition for relational need.

Please let us know if you have experience with the Standard edition, good or bad.

    Thank you.

You can use the standard version just not on purpose.

This is what features you require between standard and enterprise, have a look at https://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/license.102/b14199/editions.htm#BABDBGJA

If the features are not needed, then you should be ok.

  • Ask the suggestion for the installation of oracle 12 c standard edition

    Hi all

I try to install 12 c standard edition on linux 6 for the first time...

Could someone please suggest with the necessary steps to proceed.

creation of user Linux, installation of the rpm, then installing the software...

any suggestion expertise is much appreciated...

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards

Asking how to "get" oracle-RDBMS-server-12cR1-preinstall is not really logical. If you have a standard installation on the server to the latest version of Oracle Linux 6 update, all you have to do is:

    # yum install oracle-RDBMS-server-12cR1-preinstall

RPM requires the configuration of standard yum string (oracle public yum) and the core Oracle UEK. Yet once again, the package does not contain software, but triggers the installation of the software based on the yum dependency checking.

  • Is it possible manage PDBs on Oracle 12 c Standard Edition using EM Express?

I have installed Oracle 12 c 12.1.0.1.0 Standard Edition and configured EM Express for the CBD and also for PDB. I am able to connect and check the status of the DB, manage storage space, users, etc...

But I would also manage the PDB files (I only PDB under container of the CBD).

    I checked this document https://docs.oracle.com/database/121/ADMQS/pdbs.htm#ADMQS12499

but I can perform this step "In section of the status of the database home page, click on the CBD (n PDB files) link (where n is the number of PDB files in the CBD)" to go to the page of containers for the CDB.".

CBD (1 bps) isn't linki in my case.

It is characteristic of the Standard edition or I do something wrong?

    Thank you

This functionaility is not available until the 12.1.0.2, you have for Standard Edition.

  • AWR with Oracle 11g Standard edition

    Hello

I have the database to Oracle 11 g Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64 bit Production in my database. And when I ask for the control_management_pack_access parameter it value as DIAGNOSTIC + TUNING. I generated several AWRs with 1 hour 24 hours period as well. The two reports gives the error WARNING: as DB time is less than a second, he had minimal activity of foreground in period snapshot. Some of the percentage values are not valid. and DB time is zero for each AWR reports.

Can someone please help me solve this confusion DIAGNOSTIC + TUNING pack comes with the Standard edition and why DB time gives zero?

    Thank you

    TK.

    Hello

Database created on Standard Edition should have control_pack_management_access = none. You can change, but the risk is that you use the options that are available only on the Enterprise Edition. In itself, you can use Statspack.

  • Oracle 11 g RAC 2 & streaming for Standard edition

    Hi Experts,

I have obligation where replication is made between two 11 GR 2 CARS on Standard edition.

    I have following queries,

    1. support Standard edition DDL capture? IM asking this because the http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/license.112/e47877/editions.htm#BABDJGGI he says "SE1/SE: none capture again" does this mean really?

    2. is it possible to configure capture at the schema level and jump only some of the tables/triggers?

    Thank you

    David

    Hello

If you are using Oracle Database 11 g Standard Edition, captures and then synchronous is the only component of Oracle Streams that allows to automatically capture data changes. To use the capture process, you must have Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition. Doc Ref:replication of data using Oracle Streams

Configuration of two - database with the capture of synchronous replication:replication of data using Oracle Streams

A synchronous capture can only capture changes at the level of the table. It cannot capture the level of database or schema changes. You can configure a synchronous capture using the ADD_TABLE_RULES and ADD_SUBSET_RULES procedures in the DBMS_STREAMS_ADM package.

Hope you get the answer to your Question from the link

  • Difference between Enterprise Edition and Standard Edition for Oracle RAC

    Hello

In our current configuration we have CARS on standard edition and customer is now considering to go to Enterprise Edition, but not yet to decide because of the cost.

Is there a difference between the Infrastructure of grid 11gR 3 Enterprise edition and Standard Edition?

They told me first install Enterprise Edition and then will move to Standard Edition if they can not get the EA license, so in this case do I have to re - install standard edition network infrastructure?

    Hello

There is no "grid Infrastructure 11gR 3 Enterprise edition and Standard Edition", is the only Infrastructure of grid 11 GR 2.

On the Oracle Clusterware licenses (grid Infrastructure).
At least one of the servers in the cluster is allowed for the Oracle database (SE1, SE or EE)
A cluster is defined to include all machines that share the same Oracle Cluster Registry (OCR) and the drive to vote.
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/license.112/e10594/editions.htm#CJAHFHBJ

    On the licensing database.
    http://www.Oracle.com/us/products/database/Enterprise-Edition/comparisons/index.html

Note: Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC), is an option to Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition and included with Oracle Database 11 g Standard Edition (on clusters with a maximum of 4 Sockets).
If you move to EA Oracle, you must purchase a separate license to use the RAC option

    Regarding the Installation:
Nothing changes on your current installation of Grid Infrastructure 11.2
Just install a new fresh install to choose EF of the Oracle (the current clusterware) database during installation. Configure services database from this new HOME of ORACLE. Change anything on the database of all the previous backup and used functionality remains unchanged. With the help of this new House Oracle new features are enabled to be used by your databases.

  • Encryption of the connection/network in Oracle 11 g 2 Standard edition

The Oracle 11 g 2 Standard Edition supports a network SQL encryption * or JDBC client light? I do not have 'Oracle Advanced Security' installed, is it necessary to support any encryption of data sent over a network?

You need the enterprise edition version and the Option of advanced security to encrypt the traffic on the network using Oracle.

You could, of course, look at the options of encryption outside the Oracle. This is outside of my area of expertise (more than a little), but it should be possible to do things like SSH and VPN tunnels to encrypt the network connection between the client computer and the server. It is probably more reasonable if the client is an application rather than a laptop server.

    Hello

    We get the following options:

1 oracle Enterprise Edition (EE) - will automatically "Oracle DataGuard" option. No additional licenses for Oracle DataGuard. We buy Oracle EE for both sites.

2 oracle Standard Edition (SE) - lack of 'Oracle DataGuard"option. So we can implement database pending.

3 oracle Standard Edition (SE) - lack of 'Oracle DataGuard"option. If you want to implement recovery site we buy Oracle GoldenGate for both sites. But we need to license Oracle GoldenGate for both sites

I know that Oracle Enterprise Edition with the functionality of datamasking. Standard Edition does not.

I asked this question here because I chat with an agent of sale to Oracle's web site, but has not answered my question.

Yes, it's an add-on but only in Enterprise Edition.

Read this book to see what functions are standard and optional:

  • Which switch to index for the index bitmap in Oracle Standard Edition

The BTree index certainly can and are frequently used when values are not unique (e.g. are duplicated).

uniqueness isn't the issue. The relative number of distinct values (relative to the total number of lines) is important. An advantage of BitMap index BTree indexes, it's that BTree indexes can be composite - made up of multiple columns.

You can read the documentation on the index.
