Duo Core VS Quad Core Gaming Gaming

Hey guys!

Saving im for a gaming computer and im wondering if the game double heart is dead? Or it may crash with the quad cores!

A good example is I looked in my local computer store, same features except one had intel core i5 760 (quad core) with 5770, while the other had it intel core i5 650 (dual-core) with 5850... I can't decide which one to buy, or simply save for an amd phenom2 x 4 955 with a 5850?

Hope you get a useful answer here, but in the meantime have a read of:

1 CPU hierarchy-

http://www.TomsHardware.co.UK/best-gaming-CPU-core-i5-760-core-I7-970, 7.html - 31969-review

and read all the pages esp the ' best game CPU for $210: ' page.

Hierarchy of 2 GPU-

http://www.TomsHardware.co.UK/gaming-graphics-card-recommendation-upgrade, 7.html - 32078-review

again have an esp reading the ' best PCIe Card for ~ $ 135:' page.

Also do a search on google, there are not many messages for this sort of thing.

It's hard to say what is best for you, to others depends on what you mostly want to do. But personally I don't think that there should be a difference between or total advantage with each system. Personally, I would hope that the Quad core should be perhaps more future-proof, but who can tell in the useful life of these computers?

Yet until a certain response happens, hope this helps.

"My laptop HP550 with a 1.8 bicoeur processor will accept A Windows 7 64 bit operating system or should I stay with a 32-bit operating system." Any help will be greatly appreciated

Yes, you will be able to run Windows 7 64 bit on this system, but it may not be quick.

-2 GB or more of RAM is recommended for the 64-bit version of Windows.Check your.

You need to install Windows 7 64 bit only if you have a reason behind choosing him over 32 bits. Personally, I would recommend that you use the 32-bit Windows.

  • Intel E5300 E7400 processor vs duo core?

I am to evaluate where to put my money with a new computer "exactly."  As I evaluate each component, I wonder whether to go standard or upgrade.  I am now to the question of the processor... ideas?  I would use the computer for regular MOM stuff, but my children will play the Sims 2 on it.  Any input?  Thanks in advance...

    Lori

    Hi Lori,

Looks like you are looking for a desktop PC.  Is this fair?  I think you'll be fine with a processor.  Specification of the game says you need a processor clocked at 1.8 GHz or higher (2.4 GHz for Vista).  It said the two processors to meet this requirement.  The E5300 is clock speed 2.6 GHz.  The E7400 is 2.8 GHz.

I would lean towards the E5300 however.  I would like to buy a minimum of 2 GB of RAM.  Maybe 3 GB RAM for Vista.  And maybe get a dedicated video card.  For e-mail, web browsing, word processing, banking online, either CPU should be fine.

Here are just a few notes on your question.

For Intel processor Pentium E5300 here look specifications:

For Intel processor Core 2 Duo CPU E7400 here look specifications:

It's a more difficult question for me to answer because of the fact that they are in families of different processors.  One is a Pentium and the other is a Core 2 Duo.  But both have two hearts.

If you are interested here are Intels reason for upgrading to a Core 2 duo processor:

The minimum system requirements for The Sims 2 Apartment Life is as follows:
    * The Sims 2 base game (The Sims 2, The Sims 2 Deluxe, the Sims 2 Double Deluxe, The Sims 2 DVD special edition or the Sims 2 Holiday Edition all contain the base game)
    * 1.8 GHz or higher (2.4 GHz for Vista)
    * 1 GB OF RAM
    * Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 98 or Windows 2000
    * 8 x or more fast CD/DVD drive for the physical version
    * At least 1.0 GB of hard disk space additional (total of 5.0 GB is required if you install the Sims 2 and The Sims 2 Teen Style Stuff at the same time).
    * A T & L compatible video card with at least 32 MB of RAM video.

Personally, I'd put your money in addition to RAM since Vista can always use more memory.  But I don't think that you will have problems with a processor to play Sims 2.

Wait and see what offers other people.

If it is correct, that if I buy the 330 watts for the modernization of the ASSÉ, he will do any damage to my current system that has everything in it's default, I3 dual core processor 6100, map chart: GTX 745? • Tecra M5 1.83 GHz core duo runs very slowly

I got this machine to replace a very Toshiba satellite pro 4600 750 GHz and the result are almost the same. It freezes on the net, while the CPU cooling, the cursor sometimes move by itself without reason. I installed the last finger print recognition, because it apparently was the problem but it further because I didn't need to take and it does nothing to improve performance poor of this laptop so slow. There are 57 programs running that I can't take they are tosh and XP. It was on the repair for 2 months and finally tosh replaced but there is still a slug in front me. This is serious because I was told that I will be amazed with it compares the old pro 4600, yes I am, but not for the speed of it. Is there anything possible to do to make this slug run faster, a little salt, perhaps? I run Ad.aware, AVG, X.cleaner, registry mechanic, then I am strong enough and wise virus registry and anyway, this laptop was not long on the first day. Even if I plugged in and on all the power the management of feeding tosh it freezes, it is just done now while typing. When full power is the only thing he does the fan blowing full speed like a maniac... No matter that in any idea on what it should do or should I sell this machine and get something faster and probably cheaper? Who will be the duo core which does not work properly? Thank you. Olivier

[Edited by: admin on January 16, 2007 12:33]

    Hello Olivier

First I have to be honest you and write Tecra M5 is not the laptop the fastest, but if someone has enough money to buy this device, I assume that this person needs to know exactly how to optimize it for the own needs.

As you know laptop Tecra computer laptop and created to be used for office work and taken on a business trip. Because of that this book must be very well protected and you as the user must be sure that your data is secure in every possible situation. To make this possible Toshiba install a lot of things out there and if you start it for the first time, you will see that 67 process are enabled. It makes sense that all these processes slow down the CPU activity, but it is sufficient for the use of every day at the office or on a presentation.

As you know, you can configure OS to run much better and faster. No you don't have to use all of these features, and if you see that there is something that you should not remove it from the system. I also recommend you remove antivir preinstalled application Norton because it slows down the system quickly.

I imagine that you have enough experience and knowledge how to optimize the OS and because of that there is not a lot to say. All Toshiba preinstalled and utility tools can be disabled to start with Windows. Also check msconfig and disable all the things, you don't need.

I still use in my office old Tecra M1 and I have 40 processes runing. All the stuff I have no need are deleted. My Tecra M1 is the fastest, but I use it more than 2 years without modification. Operating system runs and runs and.

Tecra M5 is a very nice unit (especially with the Nvidia GPU) and better screen resolution and I would like to have one as my next portable office.

    Good day!

PS If you want to sell your M5 please call me! ;)

  • Qosmio G30-163: Core Duo T2500 Core 2 Duo T2500 processor upgrade?

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G30-163 which has 2.0 GHz Core duo. That I wonder if it is possible to change this processor to processor core 2 duo at the same speed or maybe a lil faster since the duo core 2 CPU produced less heat than core duo, I've heard...

Is guaranteed get trashed if I pay an official toshiba service bureau to replace the cpu?
Why I want to change the processor is think about running 64 bit OS that is not supported by core duo cpu, core 2 duo CPU does support 64-bit...

    Hello

Of course, everything is theoretically possible ;) but practice isn't very easy.
To my knowledge, Toshiba doesn't support any replacement of CPU and upgrades and so I don t think you will get a new BIOS specially for this laptop.

The F30 seems to be a new laptop. Therefore, you must know that you will lose your warranty if you open the notebook and remove the CPU!
In my view, it is not worth

  • Satellite P100-119: is it possible to upgrade the processor to Core Duo?

I ve a Satellite P100-119 computer laptop with 1, 66 GHz (Core Duo). Is it possible to install a faster processor (2.0 Ghz Duo Core) in this notebook, without Exchange of the motherboard?

    Hello

Toshiba doesn't usually recommend upgrading CPU and doesn t support these upgrades. Everything you make are at your own risk!
In this case you will lose the warranty and if something goes wrong you will not get any support.

Well, some people suggested that it is possible and that works, but I've never tried and cannot give you a 100% guarantee that it will work.

  • HP & AMD AM2socket 64 X 2 5200 core duo cpu VS 64 X 2 5600 processor chipset

My beloved Hp overheating once too often, (my bad for not to clean more often), and I have found none of the cpu even chips anywhere so I looked around and found HP had a list of tokens that fit the AM2 socket on my motherboard. The new chip (hope I'm not being folded here) is a 5600 + in a AMD processor and if something I hope that it will be a little faster. I was wondering if the new chip causes problems as the old 5200 64 X 2 duo core worked fine for 7 years. The HP help page has stated that he take a chip up to 95 watts and one I found is 65. What should I be aware of? Thanks in advance for any help. I am on a limited budget but take the computer to computer Canada to have the installed processor and set the heat sink. See you soon

We could be really to know what kind of computer you're talking about here. I can say that this is an office that I think. If the 5600 + is on the list in the manual yes has 5600 + is faster than a 5200 + and a 65w processor should work on a Board that can handle up to 95w. An upgrade of the desktop PC processor is actually a pretty easy thing to do yourself.

  • Looking good 4 k monitor for end of 2013 Mac Pro

I just ordered and received the LG 4 k monitors but when comparing them with the Apple thunderbolt display monitor they were still close in brightness or color rendering. They had an orange very little the cast to them. They were the 31MU97C-B models and I could not find any reviews on them. They were actually newer and cheaper than the model 31MU97 (without the C - B).

So I sent them back. They were only 900 each, shipped. Is there anyone in the sound of my voice who can tell me a good 4 k monitor about the same price comparable to the Thunderbolt display, but in 4K? I've searched high and low.

    Thanks in advance

    James

Take a look at BenQ monitors. I use a pair of 24 '' those on my Mac Pro 12-core gaming and they are great. I got them to Fry. mine are not K 4s, but you could do a search and check BenQ 4 K specifications and perhaps find a store with some on display to check. Mine give identical color between the 2, so their QC is decent. (I got a pair of ViewSonics never able to calibrate to match!) They make the ViewsSonics (attached to my older PowerMac G5 and sat next to my Mac pro) look really weak and pale on the best settings of ViewSonic.

http://4k.com/monitor/a-review-of-the-benq-bl3201ph-32-ips-led-4k-monitor-with-3 2-led-lit-screen inches / is a review on the BenQ 32 "4K that Amazon sells for slightly less than $900. Be sure to watch the 3201PH against the PT. 3210 (who sell the FRY and even Wal-Mart) I don't think that the PT would be like good video. (he does not mention 4K on his form and sells for hundreds less.)
