Duplicate an object at a distance

For the life of me, I don't remember what it is called or where to find in the menus.  It doesn't have the word "duplicate" in there, but it should!  You select an object and then switch to a dialog box and set up how many times you want to replicate vertically or horizontally and how far.

I will certainly write this command down when the answer comes through, but I can tell you that he needs a name that sounds like what it is!

Thank you!

The transformation indeed in effect > warp and transformation > transform

  • Duplicate an object while turning

    I can duplicate an object by pressing ALT and dragging the object, but when I try to reproduce an object by pressing the ALT and turning manually, Illustrator rotates but does not duplicate the object. I use the selection tool to rotate (it does work when I use the Rotate tool to rotate)

    Someone knows a trick to reproduce everything by rotating an object using the selection tool?

    You would think alt portfolio would do that, but alas...

    I don't know if he doesn't do it with just 1 key but it's what I do.

    • Select
    • CTRL c (copy)
    • CTRL f (stick forward)
    • then rotate

    Also, I know this isn't quite an answer to your question, but if you try to create several sizes of repetition of a form like this:

  • Duplicate an object and create it move on the stage

    Hello

    I'm having a problem in actionscript 3.0 game development. The game plan is to have planes flying across the screen and the player must shoot by clicking on it. As the player gets more points, it must be of planes flying across the screen. No matter what I try, I can't work. Can anyone offer any coding suggestoins for coding in general and him duplicate the object and spawning it out side of the scene.

    Create the plan as a library item and assign a class name (for example you name Plane).  To create a new instance of it you just use...

    var another_plane:PLane = new Plane();

    addChild (another_plane);

    planes.push (another_plane);

    The last line place the plane newly created in a table that you set above all create so that you have a way to target the various plans which, added to the process (moving, etc) them.  When one of them is no longer at stake, you can remove the table so that it gets not be processed.

  • You can duplicate an objects in illustrator as you do in After Effects?

    In After Effects shapelayer you can create an object and the duplicate in a script inside the AE and decide how many copies and where they should be placed.
    Would be great if this could be a similar thing in illustrator.
    If you want to create bricks in a wall or windows in a House.

    If this is not such a thing how you create bricks in a wall without having to copy and paste several times.

    Have a look at the appearance Panel and the deformation and transformation > transform effect.

    This allows to make multiple copies and add many effects that can be changed whenever you like.

    The result can be saved as a graphic Style.

    So, do a search of appearance and graphic styles in the help file.

  • Duplicate the object until the work plan limit is reached

    Hello world!

    I'm new to JavaScript (4 days studying) and I'm doing a duplicated object until you press the edge of the artboard.

    What is a good way to do it?

    ---

    If (app.selection [0]! = null) {}

    var = app.activeDocument myDoc,

    selectedArt = myDoc.selection [0];

    limit =?, / / set the number of duplicates? how to stop when the limit of the artboard?

    horOffset = app.activeDocument.pathItems [0] .width + 34.016, / / set the horizontal offset: width of the selection + 12 mm

    myDuplicate,

    i = 0;

    for (i; i < limit; i ++) {}

    myDuplicate = selectedArt.duplicate ();

    myDuplicate.position = [selectedArt.position [0] + horOffset * (i + 1), selectedArt.position [1]];

    }

    }

    else {}

    Alert ("you must have the object you want to duplicate selected.");

    }

    ---

    I restored this code together to other scripts, but I'm stuck at the implementation of the edge of the artboard.

    I tried to use limit = app.activeDocument.width, but his does not work.

    Let me know if the question makes sense.

    All the tips are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Its not pretty, but it works!

    Not sure this will help someone that the task is very specific.

    I use this to prepare labels for printing on a roll of paper. The width of the graphic Board is limited by the width of the roll.

    The height limit is not important, because the configuration document is usually only 2 rows.

    Here is the code:

    --------------

    If (app.selection [0]! = null) {}

    move the object to the starting position

    app.activeDocument.pageItems [0] .position = [28.347,-11.338]

    Make duplicates horizontally

    var = app.activeDocument myDoc,

    selectedArt = myDoc.selection [0];

    limit = Math.floor ((app.activeDocument.width-56.688)/(app.activeDocument.selection[0].width+34.016)-1),

    horOffset = app.activeDocument.selection [0] .width + 34.016, / / set the horizontal offset: width of the selection + 12 mm

    myDuplicate,

    i = 0;

    for (i; I)< limit;="">

    myDuplicate = selectedArt.duplicate ();

    myDuplicate.position = [selectedArt.position [0] + horOffset * (i + 1), selectedArt.position [1]];

    }

    }

    Duplicates a line down

    If (app.documents.length > 0) {}

    docSelection = app.activeDocument.selection;

    If (docSelection.length > 0) {}

    newGroup = app.activeDocument.groupItems.add ();

    for (i = 0; i< docselection.length;="" i++="" )="">

    newItem = docSelection [i] .duplicate ();

    newItem.moveToBeginning (newGroup);

    newItem.top = newItem.top - newItem.height - 17.008;

    }

    }

    }

    else {}

    Alert ("you must have the object you want to duplicate selected.");

    }

    The funny thing is that I don't know why the duplication of a line to the bottom of work

    Also if the art is on the wrong layer, the object will not be moved to the correct starting point.

  • How do I move/duplicate small objects without direct corners CC 2014 clutter it!

    Hi people,

    I find a problem with living corners on the recent Illustrator CC2014 update...

    Living corners used as a feature of the direct Selection tool, but now its about the two types of default selection... As much as I love living corner and use it all the time, its now impossible (or really bloody dangerous) to move or duplicate (with holding alt and dragging) small rectangles. For example, if I wanted to duplicate lots of small windows in a building for example. He catches just a corner and actually it's a circle. Zoom bypasses this but it does not really solve the problem. I am also aware that you can disable the corners quite alive, but if I had to do every time I needed it, so we can go back to the time of the effect > styles > rounded corners.

    Everyone falls on this new frustration or have a work around?

    You need not hide the bounding box.

  • Duplicate objects

    Anyone know what is the problem with vFoglight when it duplicates all objects in vCenter?  This is the second time I have seen this now and in discussions with others who run vFoglight in their shop, happened to them as well.  Not only it is a complete annoyance, but made for VMS specific suddenly all dashboard stops working because their new data becomes associated with the new VM object in vFoglight.  I went from 4.4 k machines in a vCenter to 8.8 k over the weekend.  Is there an easy way to remove duplicate objects and data flowing to the original objects again so I don't have to redo a lot of dashboards and reports?

    The only way I've seen happen is if you have moved/deleted/added the hosts to an existing vCenter, did a new vCenter install vs update or change the names of our data collectors.  We look at the UUID of the VMS to their uniqueness.  I suggest opening an evidence of support and make them take a peek to a beam of support of the FMS and the data collector.

  • Duplicate the exact same object place

    How to duplicate an object without using copy - paste or operations control and have it be a double right just above the first? When I copy and paste places it far form the original. Curious to know if there is a way to reproduce them in place.

    Thank you!

    Copy paste & in front (this will put in the exact location on top of the selection you copied)

    Cmd + C then Cmd + F if you want the shortcut (if it is not in your list of validation)

    EDIT:

    You can also paste (Cmd + B) back if you want the same thing as your new copy behind the original

  • Duplicate layers Adobe Flash hard

    Hello

    whenever I have duplicate an object to other layers in Adobe Flash and try to change the color of the object in a single layer it changes automatically colours on all layers. How break the pattern and change the color of different layers instead of all?

    Help, please

    Thank you

    Yana

    You can do another symbol that differs in any way you like, then select the double original symbol and click Swap in the properties panel to discuss the new symbol, keeping the same animation.

    Or, you can select the animation and do a right click Copy the movement and then paste the query to another symbol in the scene.

  • Moving from a central point objects

    Hi all.

    I'm looking to find a way to move multiple objects from a distance from a central point.

    Say, for example, move the numbers on a clock in the Center.

    Put the scale adjusts the size, moving moves in the 1 direction.

    Any ideas?

    Is the best I have at the moment: select all, then expand with Alt Shift drag, then appearance Panel allows you to reduce the size, and then edit > decaying appearance.

    Kind regards

    Kevin.

    Try scaling first and by reducing the size with object > transform > transform each. You must do the math to calculate the scale factor for size reduction.

  • Can I export objects without borders?

    Hey guys,.

    I write on a xml export script. Unfortunately, I can't use the function "export images" of xml, as I have two different types. For some "< area >" s I need original and for some images, I need those formatted. If I export object or object.graphics depending on what I need in both cases. Now the question is, how to export object without the border? While I have only the image of the perfect size.

    A solution would be to duplicate the object, save visible limits with the border and make the border '0' calculate the difference. Then I could reduce the frame size, I need and export this object.

    In my view, it is a bit strange and think it might be a known function that makes it easy. Is there, or do I have to write my own function?

    Best regards

    Fred

    I just wrote my own function now. Note that I need "MM" for my race, that's why I calculate STROKE * 0.35277... Maybe this will help someone.

    function tagImagesV2 (object) {}

    myDup = object.duplicate ();

    strokeWidth = object.strokeWeight * 0.352777778;

    alignment = object.strokeAlignment;

    myDup.strokeWeight = 0;

    If (Alignment.ToString () == 'CENTER_ALIGNMENT')

    difference = strokeWidth/2;

    Another yew (alignment.toString () is "INSIDE_ALIGNMENT")

    difference = strokeWidth;

    Another yew (alignment.toString () is "OUTSIDE_ALIGNMENT")

    difference = 0;

    myDup.geometricBounds = [myDup.geometricBounds [0] + difference, myDup.geometricBounds [1] + difference, myDup.geometricBounds [2] - difference, myDup.geometricBounds [3] - difference];

    here your xml stuff

    myDup.remove ();

    }

  • Ctrl-alt for double layer now duplicates groups not only the layer?

    I almost always duplicate the objects or layers by using ctrl-alt drag (while using move tool) to duplicate the layer.  Now, in the last Photoshop CC 2014 it duplicates the not only the layer group.  Is this a setting?  Thank you

    Well, obviously, in the December Update they fixed it... It must have been a glitch in the previous update.  So if you have this problem - update to December was last updated.

    Thank you

  • Help! Illustrator duplicates everything on the trail, as if I am now hold the Option key.

    I've never had this problem before. Whenever I drag an object, it automatically duplicates the object as if I am now hold the Option key. I can move objects with the arrow keys, but if I drag anything with the mouse, it it duplicates automatically.

    Please help because it is impossible to work with. I restarted the computer, but also Illustrator several times. The problem does not occur in InDesign or Photoshop. Just to Illustrator. I'm Runnin' Mac OSX 10.6.

    Thanks in advance for your help.

  • How to display an object while ALT-do drag and copy, then release?

    Hello

    I'm working on Indesign version 8.0.1 with my new Macbook, but when I duplicate an object, it will not show the object when I'm dragging all by pressing ALT. I can only see part of the object, but not the object itself, until I actually pick up, which is really a lot of time and practice. It wasn't a problem on my computer where I work. Anyone know if this has something to do with preferences?

    Thank you, any help is appreciated!

    Instead of just dragging. ALT + click and for a second or more.

    And then drag.

    You can also set your preferences to draw immediate live

    but I suggest that, as it can slow performance of InDesign considerably.
