duplicate catalogs

I was update LR for a while now.

Currently I have LR 4 & 5 still on my desktop computer.

I am currently using LR CC.

What happens if I withdraw LR 4 & 5?

How can I make sure that I don't lose photos?

Thank you

sailmom

You won't lose photos because they are never inside any version of LR. LR is a program database referencing your images where you placed on your hard drive. As long as all your settings and presets work in the latest version of LR you use you can remove, uninstall older versions. Alternatively, you can delete the old files of catalog and preview files that accompany these catalogue. Uninstall LR does not automatically remove the old catalogue files.

    When you upgrade to LR4... LR makes a duplicate catalog, he upgrades to LR4 and renames it. Use the new renamed catalogue and when you feel comfortable remove the catalog in LR3.

  • Main problems, managing files on Creative Cloud drive

    I decided to place my Lightroom (and intelligent previews) catalog on my drive of 20 GB creative cloud that I use more than one computer. I usually update of the catalog on my Windows machine. However, when I open the same catalog in Lightroom on my Macbook, a copy of the LRCAT file is automatically created on my disk storage CC. Can someone tell me why this happens? This is beyond frustrating!

    Hi Ramone,.

    First of all, I would say that creative cloud is not the right place to store the catalogue, as there are problems with permission on the cloud.

    Also you try to launch Lightroom with the catalogue still recorded on creative cloud?

    If so, then try to move the catalog on disk Local once and then launch Lightroom and see if duplicate catalog is created or not?

  • How to create the subdomain with separate Shopping Cart Layout

    I need help to create several Web sites of suppliers with brand product pages and shopping cart experience.  Here is the part of the conversation that I had with the LiveChat.  I use Adobe Muse to the layout template and Business Catalyst for e-commerce. I realized that I could duplicate catalogs and give them a separate model. The problem I encounter is the shopping cart, and record to cite only can have one model. Is there a way to get around this?

    Is it possible to have separate templates for basket a quote record?

    Well, the advantage of working in the Business Catalyst is that you can create your own templates Module. Catalyst will business always give you options by default, but if you want 5 different pages with the same content, modified to suit your customer needs so you will have to create a model. http://docs.businesscatalyst.com/dev-assets/reference#! / tag-reference/custom-templates/cus tom - templates.html Here is a video that gives step by step instructions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukNqmm_UKsg let me know if you have the questions more.

    Most of the time, when a backup freeze at a certain percentage, it is due to a 'problem' file, usually a video. I also met the problem with file format is no longer supported, as jpeg2000. I assume you are using 13 items.

    I would overlap with your catalog for the following tests. Find the catalog folder (menu help/information system) and copy the entire folder elsewhere. To open the organizer with the duplicate catalog, double-click the database file: catalog.pse13db.

  • Adding files in a catalogue where the catalog suspect duplicates?

    Hello

    I searched for the answer to this but I just have to be bad thinking.

    Last year, I had a hard drive crash and I was restore some of my photos from backup.  In one case, I have a folder in my structure of the catalogue showing a sub-folder.  However, if I look at the hard drive, there are several folders.

    Essentially:

    Catalogue:

    2008

    2008-04-25

    Hard drive:

    2008

    2008-01-25

    2008-01-31

    etc.

    I would have thought 'easy import', right?  Well, the problem is that my catalog shows all the duplicate and existing photos in the catalogue then if I try to import with "don't import suspected duplicates", then I end up with two of each file.

    What is the appropriate way to restore files in the catalog?  Or I just thought the answer to my own question, and I have to import and 'Add' instead of moving or copying?

    Thank you!

    Use a filename from the "problem files" and find it in Lightroom using the text filter, then select file name.

    Also post a screenshot of your library like that...

  • I get a message when I am importing (this seems to be a duplicate of another picture already in the catalog) pic is grayed out.

    I get a message when I am importing (this seems to be a duplicate of another picture already in the catalog) pic is grayed out.

    From the library module, look for the image with the same filename and see where LR think there already.

  • How to remove duplicates in my Lightroom Catalog?

    I have merged an old Lightroom Catalog in my Lightroom hand catalogue and accidentally created duplicate images, thousands of them (sometimnes, geometry), I suppose I must have completed the process before, foregotten and not deleted catalogs I merged after that I've merged them... then go back and redo the process... thus creating duplicates.

    My problem is I want to remove duplicates without losing the edited versions. only those that I have meged in.  The file has a lot of images which is not duplicated, so I can't start the process again?

    You can remove duplicates of Lightroom is removing recognizes them in the grid view.

    However, there are a few Plugins available. Here's a Journal http://www.lightroomfanatic.com/tutorials/advanced/finding-duplicate-images-lightroom-cata /

    Hello

    The connection of the RMAN catalog remains inactive during the backup/restore process, once rman completes the task and try to activate the connection it gets error.

    What is expected as you said the rebooted server. If this happens because of the expiration time, we went with the parameter net expire_time to maintain the connection.

  • Question of location/duplicate the catalog files

    I need assistance with my location of the catalog.  I restored from backup after resetting my computer.  Now, I have original photos on a D drive and I have a copy (maybe not a complete copy) on the C drive.

    I already had my catalog and my original photos on D (I think).

    Now when I add new photos, where should I put them?  I would like to put it on D, but all other pictures in the catalogue are on C.

    I would like to have everything on D and do not have a copy of everything.

    I don't want to lose one of the photos on D that are not in the catalog for a reason any.

    JoeBusher wrote:

    I opened the catalog of pse14 to move D:\Pictures 04 04 2015\Joe (1 mod 23/11/15 285 MB).  The properties for the pictures are all over D.

    I also opened pse14 catalog at C:\Photoshop\Joe 1 (375MB mod 25/12/15).  Those are all on C.

    Thank you for your help.  I feel that we are making progress.  What should I do next?

    First, use the catalog to D: now to import new files. Make sure you set your preferences to import files from the card or the scans to the D: drive.

    Then you can compare what is on C: and D: catalog to make sure that they are the same. You can use the Explorer / Finder to remove duplicates for free space on C:.

    I guess that you always backup folder that you have used before: keep to make sure you have extra security before you do the cleaning on C:.

    You can delete unwanted catalogs since the Organizer catalog manager.

  • Duplicate of another picture in a catalog.

    When I go to import pictures from my external drive into lightroom 5 that I'm unable to select one of the photos because it is said that "this seems to be a duplicate of another photo in the catalog.  This means that I can have imported their previously but I can't find where I imported them.  Is it possible that I can find the picture in the catalog?  When I click on the library and find and search for one of the file name any of them never arrive.  I can uncheck "do not import suspected duplicates" but I prefer to make sure that I did my best to get the previous import.  Thanks in advance!

    I would incorporate the file and from the select in all photos and choose a kind of time capture and the file should show alongside. The query for duplicates is not infallible.

  • RMAN Duplicate Database from backups without a target without a catalog.

    I apologize if this has been posted before, although I couldn't find in the forums.
    We are currently on 11 GR 1 matter of database and currently implementing RMAN backup and restore.
    We have databases of test periodically refresh us sources of production for our clients on a regular basis (exp / imp currently). As with general practice, these test reside on a different server.
    I have been through a lot of documentation on RMAN and I have several questions regarding the creation of a database of duplicate backup copies (backup of level 0 currently) without a target database and catalogue (No. Duplication Active)

    We have Oralce files managed, implemented.

    (1) RMAN requires a database for replication?
    The reason I ask this question, it is only
    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B28359_01/backup.111/b28270.PDF Chapter 23, 23-13/23-14. Alll indicate that need a target.

    (2) if there is No target, then setting SPFILE used the backup SpFILE?

    (3) what are recommended approaches.

    (4) what is the command for the simple reproduction of backup without purpose and without catalog

    Thank you

    'Target-free' RMAN duplication is a feature of 11 GR 2:

  • Duplicate entries HD catalog

    LR CC on Windows 10

    I have all my files in a 1 TB harddrive in (saved in other hd) network with the exception of those that currently, I am working on my C drive.

    My file on the hard disk structure is - Buffalo\share\Pictures\Family\subfolders.

    I have a LR separate catalog for my family photos.

    Somehow in the past I have done with two entries in the LR catalog. One is Buffalo\share\Family and the other is Buffalo\SHARE\Family.

    Most of my files is in the second, and all the current entries are transferred in there.

    So I have problems trying to bring together the following folders:

    1. some of the Buffalo\share\Family files are the same as those of Buffalo\SHARE\Family, but with different content. Some of the files are in Buffalo\share\Family only. Files cannot drag from one to the other as "they already exist. Check 'Show in Explorer' confirms that they are all in the same folder on the hard disk.

    2 not all files on the hard drive to show in the catalogue.  I have synced. I tried to import these files but that they "already exists."

    I have attached a screenshot.  It is an old catalog. I got LR since its inception and as you can see the catalog is family-2-2-2.

    There are obviously corrupted

    Can someone give my opinion on the hoe to fix without losing all my files to develop.

    Thank you.

    Ian

    Screenshot (3).png

    After much experimenting, I found the answer that turned out be quite simple.  By selecting the highest level of the folder that I had, I chose "Show Parent folder" in the menu drop-down. " This done then every drive hard entered see Photos/family and photos /Friends.  Then, in one of them I selected delete catalog.  The second hard drive, then disappeared and I have them in one place.

  • RMAN Duplicate + incremental backups + upgrade to 12 c

    Hello

    IM thinking the best way migrationg and upgrading database 11.2.0.4 to 12 c with reasonable downtime.

    reasonable downtime: 30 Minutes

    Source: Solaris (Intel)

    11.2.0.4

    DB Dimensions: 800G

    Target: Linux

    12 c

    new name of the comic.

    IM thinking to use RMAN Duplicate with option NoOpen(1) (RMAN catalog is in use). Double will be for sure several of 30 minutes then think if I can combine two copies for the recovery of the archivelogs generated during replication to minimize downtime. But is it possible when I change DB_NAME?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    I guess, you may need to check once this document. 412484.1

    I'm really not sure about your source and target system

    If your source is the 'Platform_id' 20, you can enjoy all your needs in 30 minutes or less. If this isn't the case, it is difficult.

    If your platform_id is 20, you can then create physical standby for your 11.2.0.4 and get the same thing, once the database is recovered, you can convert this logic of sleep (note: your database must be validated for the logical expectation), if you convert your logical database in standby mode, then you can change the name of your database to the new name also you can upgarde to 12 c.

    After upgrade, you can still recover all changes to your primary. Once the logic ensures sync with primary then you can pass.

    If your platform_id not 20, then

    You can opt for Golden Gate...

  • RMAN duplicate grave crashes when I'm trying to change the paths of the destination

    Hello community,

    I am trying to duplicate a database of PROD for a test environment using the basic backup technique. I test the script in double and everything works fine when the paths of the database "auxiliary" (the database that I am creating) have the same paths as the basis of the 'target' (the database of production). If I change the paths, the double has failed because it does not find a backup of controlfile:

    channel ch1: from the restore backup set data file

    channel ch1: restore the control file

    channel ch1: reading of the backup piece PROD_cf_c-2175092736-20151204-0 c

    This is the script that works, but if I have the same structure of directories in PROD and TEST (but this isn't a real scenario):

    run

    {

    allocate auxiliary channel ch1 device type sbt;

    Send "NB_ORA_CLIENT = xxx NB_ORA_POLICY = xxx, NB_ORA_SCHED = Full_Diario';"

    duplicate database for TEST PROD

    until 'sysdate-2/24.

    NOFILENAMECHECK;

    output channel ch1.

    }

    And this is the script that it does not work because I have the PROD and TEST different directory structure

    run

    {

    allocate auxiliary channel ch1 device type sbt;

    Send "NB_ORA_CLIENT = xxx NB_ORA_POLICY = xxx, NB_ORA_SCHED = Full_Diario';"

    duplicate database for TEST PROD

    until 'sysdate-2/24.

    Set log_archive_dest_1 ' LOCATION = / TEST/arch.

    the value of log_archive_dest_2 'LOCATION = NULL'

    ;

    output channel ch1.

    }

    I tried to restore a Netbackup file and it works. I try to duplicate a database when the structures of directories are identical and it works. Why it's a failure when I change the destination paths?

    Thank you!

    Marina.

    Hello

    We had a similar problem in our shop. In our case, that we never knew if she was related to Oracle or NetBackup, but we found a Bug of Oracle, so we think it was a problem with the Oracle.

    Bug 11783792  RMAN SEND command does not hold the value of the variable

    DOC - ID 11783792.8

    Rather than send 'NB_ORA_CLIENT = DCLI, NB_ORA_POLICY is BD_DC_2, NB_ORA_SCHED = Full_Diario';.

    try something like this:

    Run {}

    allocate channels ch01 type 'sbt_tape' PARMS 'ENV =(NB_ORA_CLIENT=DCLI) ";

    Send "NB_ORA_SERV =';"

    Restore settings
