  • need help with Windows media player library

I have duplicate in my media player library files, probably because my drive external hard drive letter changes when I turn it on and based on what I plugged my USB ports. Is it possible that I can get media player to update my library and remove the duplicates that exist no more. I don't want to have to do all the one at a time and try to guess which ones are duplicates and those that are really

    No guarantees...

This method worked for a user who has posted a similar question. I can't find the thread more, but I gave this person the following response...

Open WMP > tools > Options > Library tab > under "Automatic media information updates for files,", put a dot blue radio 'Add only missing information ' (if the blue dot is already there, UN - dot, then re - a point it) > OK

Hope this works for you as well.

  • Windows media player library

My media player library does not allow me to delete files and it always trys to update. There is a folder called D:, users, rodger, videos that no longer exists, but it won't let me get rid of it and I have a full library of icons that point to this old disc and will not play or allow me to delete. How can I solve this problem. Should I remove the old installation and reinstall media player 12

    Hi rodgeallen

Try this fixit automated tool that aims to solve the problems of the library like the one you describe. If this does not work, you can save you external media files disk and uninstall and reinstall a new copy of WMP 12 as a last resort.

  • Windows media Player library said that he corrupted how to fix this?

How can I fix my Media Player as it says I can't play some files as it is corrupt, I'm not very computer im still learning.i tried the troobleshooter but it is not solved the problem.

    Hello

    1. what operating system do you use?

Method1: I suggest you run the troubleshooter to library and check if that helps.

Open the troubleshooter in the Windows Media Player library

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Media-Player-library-Troubleshooter

Method2: It would be possible that the files in the directory that stores Media Player may contain corrupted data. Go to the following directory and delete all the files in the folder. Test if the problem recurs.

    %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player

Note: Please save the contents of the directory first.

Method 3: Reinstall Windows Media Player

As a last resort, try to uninstall and reinstall Windows Media Player.

This version fixes most of the problems of corruption of Windows Media Player.

Note that uninstalling Windows Media Player 12 also disables Windows Media Center because WMC uses WMP12 to its operation.

See the steps in the article.

Turn on or off Windows features

  • Backup of Media Player library content

I understand how to save a playlist in Media Player in My Documents / my music but how do you back up all the content of the Media Player library?

My library is currently on my XP computer and I want to transfer to my new computer Windows 8.1.  My plan was to copy my music on an external hard drive folder but I can't figure out how to get all my music from Media Player on this issue in one fell swoop.  This problem has always bugged me whenever I made a systematic backup on my computer but I never had the time to ask the question so far.

On the other hand, is there another method to transfer all my music between machines?

    Thank you.

Well, no one else has developed a response, but I see that there are at least 2 more of you out there with this problem and I think I have fixed it myself so I'll put what I have done.

I already had my Playlists folder in My Documents / my music and chose to use it, but do your own choice where you want to save the library.

In WMP, select all the songs
    Click on the first entry
A CTRL on the keyboard to select the entire list
Drag the first entry to the playlist pane, and the rest will follow
Click selection without a title, give it a name, select "save under" and scroll to my Document / my music / my Playlists (or anywhere where you want to store)
    Save

I was sure that I had tried this before without success this time it worked.

I posted what was essentially this question in another thread and received an answer that seems to say that it was not necessary to do so and that all the user in WMP files are already stored on my computer, but they did not specify where and I was unable to locate so using this method took my mind at rest even if she turns out to be useless.  If I find out additional info I'll update this thread.

    Hope this has been useful.

  • The Windows Media Player library is missing in Windows XP

My Windows Media Player library has disappeared and I can't recover my music.  Please notify.

What version of WMP are you using?

You still see your music files in Windows Explorer? What is the file type (or types) of these files (MP3, WMA; (WAV)?

This could be caused by a corrupted media library. To reset the library, follow the instructions for your version of WMP and Windows at http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary. Note the reset of the library will make you lose all the counts to play and possibly ratings too.

  • M4a and M4P files don't show in the Media Player library

Original title: display music files m4p in medial Microsoft Reader library

My Itunes Music Library contains 1400 songs, my Media Player library shows only 20% of people.  Seems that m4p and m4a files do not show in the Media Player library.

WMP 11 is not supported with built-in support for M4P and M4A (MPEG-4 audio) files. For the support of library and the tag for the latter, you need to install the plug-in in WMP Tag Plus .

Note that M4P files are protected against copying, if WMP will probably not be able to read them.

  • Windows Media Player library sharing request

I received a request to share Windows Media Player library. I'm not on a network. Is this some type of malware or something? How should I handle this? A month ago, I received a similar request for iTunes sharing Jeremy-PC. Help, please. My computer has been hacked?

You're invited because you are on a network, this is a security feature of Windows.

I assume that you have chosen the option to not share when asked?

You can safely share if you know who you are sharing with (if you know who is Jeremy-PC)

If you prefer not to share with who you can disable media sharing.

    To activate:

When you are connected to the internet, go to: Control Panel, network and sharing Center.

Expand the sharing of multimedia files, click on edit, if media sharing is currently disabled, there will be a popup.

If you check the share my media, then click OK, you get another popup.

Here you can highlight the computers on the network and allow or deny.

If you click settings, you can choose what you want to share.

    To turn off:

When you are connected to the internet, go to: Control Panel, network and sharing Center.

Develop sharing media files and click on change, if media sharing is currently on uncheck share my media to:

    Click on apply, OK

  • How to rip songs from my iphone4 to my Media Player library?

I have a hp desktop pc... just trying to figure out how to take a cd album I have on my iphone 4 and place it on my Windows Media Player library. I have my phone plugged in via usb on the front of my pc Tower, however its not recognizing the device when I try to synchronize. ???

    Hi JosephDenicola,

The iphone only syncs to iTunes, which is by design. Install the latest version of Itunes on your computer to the device to be recognized.

This article describes how to enable syncing in iTunes to transfer content between your device and your computer. In addition to creating a backup, synchronization with your computer allows you to manage contacts, calendars, and bookmarks on your computer.

Browse the following articles for a detailed description of synchronization:

  • Unable to transfer songs purchased on the iTunes store to Windows Media Player library

    Windows Media Player

I bought songs from the itunes store and they were saved in my music folder. I want to create a CD but can't get the songs went to the Windows Media Player library or create playlists. Help, please. Thank you

    Hello everyonelovestotravel,

Windows Media Player does not support Itunes because the format is not compatible. The Itunes are .acc format and is not supported by Windows Media Player. If you want to burn the Itunes for Windows Media Player, I suggest that you convert the files to mp3 format, and then burn. You can convert files using some of the third-party conversion software. You can use your favorite search engine to search for the software.

    DISCLAIMER OF THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE:

Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.
