Windows media Player library said that he corrupted how to fix this?

How can I fix my Media Player as it says I can't play some files as it is corrupt, I'm not very computer im still learning.i tried the troobleshooter but it is not solved the problem.

Hello

1. what operating system do you use?

Method1: I suggest you run the troubleshooter to library and check if that helps.

Open the troubleshooter in the Windows Media Player library

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Media-Player-library-Troubleshooter

Method2: It would be possible that the files in the directory that stores Media Player may contain corrupted data. Go to the following directory and delete all the files in the folder. Test if the problem recurs.

%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player

Note: Please save the contents of the directory first.

Method 3: Reinstall Windows Media Player

As a last resort, try to uninstall and reinstall Windows Media Player.

This version fixes most of the problems of corruption of Windows Media Player.

Note that uninstalling Windows Media Player 12 also disables Windows Media Center because WMC uses WMP12 to its operation.

See the steps in the article.

Turn on or off Windows features

I hope this helps.

  • I have music files in my playlists that I can't make it appear in the Windows Media Player library

Original title: Player Windows medis library - Playlist trouble

-J' have music files in my playlists that I can't make it appear in the library - how can I sync the two up - I tried the usual fall / drag...

    Hello

    1. is the specific issue of the reading list?

2 are you able to add other songs in the Windows Media Player library?

3 did you changes to the computer before the show?

The Player library is the location in the player that lists all of the music, videos and photos on your computer.

When you play a media file on your computer or a removable storage device, the file is automatically included in the Player library, so you can access it directly from the reader. And if you have access to remote media stored on other computers on your network, you can change the player settings to add those files remotely to the Player library when you play them. The reader does not automatically add a file that you play from removable media, such as a CD or DVD.

Since you aren't able to add songs to the library, you can try the following and see if they help.

Method 1: Open the troubleshooter in the Windows Media Player library

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Media-Player-library-Troubleshooter

    Method 2:

This problem may be due to database corruption.  You can delete the Windows Media Player database and check if the problem persists.

Steps to clear the database of windows media player:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.
    b. Click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click OK.
    c. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

Note You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. exit Windows Media Player.
    b. Click Start, click Run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft and then click OK.

    c. Select the Media Player folder, and then click on Delete on the file menu.
    d. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

Any ideas how I get rid of these old entries. I hope I don't have to uninstall and reinstall Windows Media Player!

    SHE FOUND!

If you have a large number of entries in doubles in your library (or if your library is duplicated), it might be better to create a new library.

Method 1: To resolve this problem, clear the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. exit Windows Media Player.

    2. for Windows 7: click Start, run, %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click on OK.

    3. Select all the files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

  • Songs do not appear in the Windows Media Player library

WIndows Media Player 12 adding not songs

I got my new PC with Windows 7 this afternoon and more than 10,000 songs completely copied into the My Music folder.  None of these songs will appear in the library of Windows Media Player 12 songs. My Music folder is one of the libraries of WMP to default save location.  Only 3 songs are appearing in the library, and those are the three on the Public Music folder.  Yet when I add a song to the public music folder, it is added to the library. Then when I close WMP, and re - open, we are back to 3 original songs!  I spent an hour with HP support tonight and didn't get anywhere.  I tried the system restore.  I tried to restore the library.  I think that my WMP is maybe damaged.  Any thoughts on what I'm missing here?

I read this on another topic, try it.

  • The Windows Media Player library is missing in Windows XP

My Windows Media Player library has disappeared and I can't recover my music.  Please notify.

What version of WMP are you using?

You still see your music files in Windows Explorer? What is the file type (or types) of these files (MP3, WMA; (WAV)?

This could be caused by a corrupted media library. To reset the library, follow the instructions for your version of WMP and Windows at http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary. Note the reset of the library will make you lose all the counts to play and possibly ratings too.

  • Windows Media Player library sharing request

I received a request to share Windows Media Player library. I'm not on a network. Is this some type of malware or something? How should I handle this? A month ago, I received a similar request for iTunes sharing Jeremy-PC. Help, please. My computer has been hacked?

You're invited because you are on a network, this is a security feature of Windows.

I assume that you have chosen the option to not share when asked?

You can safely share if you know who you are sharing with (if you know who is Jeremy-PC)

If you prefer not to share with who you can disable media sharing.

    To activate:

When you are connected to the internet, go to: Control Panel, network and sharing Center.

Expand the sharing of multimedia files, click on edit, if media sharing is currently disabled, there will be a popup.

If you check the share my media, then click OK, you get another popup.

Here you can highlight the computers on the network and allow or deny.

If you click settings, you can choose what you want to share.

    To turn off:

When you are connected to the internet, go to: Control Panel, network and sharing Center.

Develop sharing media files and click on change, if media sharing is currently on uncheck share my media to:

  • Unable to transfer songs purchased on the iTunes store to Windows Media Player library

    Windows Media Player

I bought songs from the itunes store and they were saved in my music folder. I want to create a CD but can't get the songs went to the Windows Media Player library or create playlists. Help, please. Thank you

    Hello everyonelovestotravel,

Windows Media Player does not support Itunes because the format is not compatible. The Itunes are .acc format and is not supported by Windows Media Player. If you want to burn the Itunes for Windows Media Player, I suggest that you convert the files to mp3 format, and then burn. You can convert files using some of the third-party conversion software. You can use your favorite search engine to search for the software.

    DISCLAIMER OF THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE:

Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.
