DV6-3150el: ATI RADEON 5650 vs Windows 8

Hi all.
I just bought and installed windows 8 for my flag and, like many others, I have the problem with my ATI video card.
It is not working and an error called "code 10" are out.
I tried several solutions and many drivers find on the forums, but nothing seems to worki, so my questions are:

Has anyone else with my pc and the OS even solve this problem?

Should we expect the official "solution" offered by hp?
It will take a lot of time?

Thank you very much and sorry for my English. I'm Italian.

Here is a document detailing what to expect when upgrading to Windows 8.

This particular model was not certified for Windows 8 and I am not sure when and if it will be.

Of particular note, this system is using switchable graphics.
It is a big problem in Windows 8, Windows 8 drivers of HP without. The reason is that the driver for these systems with switchable graphics is provided by the manufacturer of the PC from two different suppliers of video cards are involved. Windows 8 uses a different driver architecture and it breaks the switchable graphics driver for Windows 7, resulting in only the Intel video card despite what Device Manager displays.

That being said, you can try this. This is not guaranteed and switchable graphics may not be functional.

1. check that .NET Framework 3.5 is enabled.
Use the control panel method in the present document.

2 Download this driver and run it to extract, but not to proceed with the installation. Allow the extraction process to complete then cancel the installation when you are prompted to continue.
: Note where it is extracted to. It is c:\swsetup\"filename' by default. Must be c:\swsetup\50640.

3. navigate to the folder extracted in step 2. Once there, there will be a file of configuration or installation. Generally, they are spotted that setup.exe and it should be for the ATI card. Right-click on the file, select Properties, compatibility, select enable compatibility and select Windows 7. Click Ok to apply these changes.

4 run the file and it should install in compatibility mode.

5. once it is done, restart the system.

Check Device Manager to verify that the number of Code 10 disappeared.
At this point, it is not guaranteed to get switchable graphics to work; However, it should solve the problem of code 10.

Alternatively, you can try the steps in this post to see if they will work for you should the above don't work.
NOTE: The solution in this post is not HP and it is not official. HP is not responsible for the result of these steps.

  • switchable graphics driver for DV6-3131tx ATI mobility radeon 5650 for Windows 8

Hi, I have a laptop HP dv6 3131tx (64-bit). I just recentley upgraded to Windows 8 since my laptop is supposed to be compatible to the HP Web site.

I can't find drivers for my card (ATI radeon 5650 including) 1 GB switchable graphics.

Because of this problem, I can not connect my laptop to do anything with my HDMI cable, I can't use software such as AutoCAD (software engineering), I can not play almost any game that required the decent graphics and my laptop runs out real costs quickly becausei can't change my graphics mode.

I also tried with the driver of windows 7 in compatibility mode, but even that is no problem.

Really need help. As soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

It would look like HP do not go to your laptop for Windows 8 support - you can check if you enter your XV784PA NR the Site to upgrade Windows 8

My best advice would be to use 3rd party personalized graphics drivers switchable such as those found on the following link - these were a success with people using switchable graphics who want the latest drivers.

I suggest strongly to read the Manual about installing these drivers and to understand why driver signature enforcement must be disabled to load these custom drivers.

  • Receive the error code 22 with ATI Radeon cards under Windows 7

I have two video cards on my system, an ATI Radeon 2100: currently disabled (Code 22), should I activate this or it will be in conflict with the ATI Radeon HD 3400

I don't know why this card is disabled.

    * original title - video card conflict: *.

    Hello

You have two monitors? If this isn't the case, you only need a working card. The 2100 is an edge

When it has been installed and the 2100 can be removed from the system (if physically

    Hello

I loaded my IBM thinkpad t42 with windows 7 Ultimate today, the problem I have is that apparently this driver or graphics card does not support aero?

    I get this error

The current video card can support Aero with a driver that is compatible with the driver model (WDDM) Display Windows.  Contact the manufacturer of your video card or computer for a WDDM compatible driver.

Driver graphics card does not support the aero effect

Please can someone point me in the right direction, because I can't stand the look of basic windows 7.

    Thank you

    Hello

Sorry, Radeon 7500 does not support DirectX9 PixelShaders, so you can't have Aero Glass . For Aero Glass, you need at least a Radeon 9500!

    Hello

I have HP Pavilion DV6 3122TX and recently I was updating my drivers and software from the HP Web site for my laptop. Everything was done smoothly. As I updated my BIOS, I noticed that I was not able to switch between ATI Radeon 5650 and Intel HD Graphics, then I was also shocked that he wasn't showing a charger plugged into icon too. Although the battery was charging but didn't show any icon for it. I am running Windows 7. After a few days, my battery was went wrong and was not in charge. I bought the new battery from HP Store for my laptop, and then after a few days now he is dying too. My computer laptop suddenly stops on about 30% of battery remaining and battery does not charge. I arranged another charger and plugged, but once more. I gave the laptop to the service center local and got NO from them as well. They couldn't find the problem. After a lot of research and reading messages HP, I finally understood that it was the problem with the BIOS Update and Windows 7. So, out of curiosity, I installed Linux RedHat 6 on windows 7 and everything was OK. But I am a graphic designer for Linux is not a good choice for me. I want to just restore my BIOS in its original version of the default BIOS. Please kindly help me to get my original BIOS. I tried everything on my hand. I also ask HP to the original versions of the drivers like BIOS on its Internet site. My laptop is dying. Please, Experts, I need your kind assisstence. Thanks in advance

Create the key USB HP Diagnostics of material 3-in-1 PC and boot to it.

If you updated the BIOS from the old version will still be in a folder of your operating system. Use the method I proposed to get it back.

If you are unable to read the instructions on the web page of Diagnostics of material for the HP PC, then I suggest that you pay someone to do it and create the flash drive for you.

If you want to update your driver HD5650, you do this from the web portal of support for your laptop. Available drivers are located in the download section of the portal software & driver.

You can also update via the HP Support Assistant. Start the HP Support Assistant and proceed to the interview section and then run the utility Tune_up. If an upgrade is available, and your laptop is connected to the internet, you can allow the support Wizard upgrade for you.

  • Memory size incorrect notification in Windows XP for ATI Radeon Xpress 200 M

I have a problem that keeps buging me:

The thing is that I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L20-181, with an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 M graphics card, which, on the toshiba site is specified to support up to 128 MB. After that I tried to configure the size of the memory for the graphics card in the BIOS, to a precise value, Windows Xp is not displayed correctly this amount of memory. I think that the graphics card has another source of memory, DDR2 RAM memory, but I'm not sure.
Initially, I had a 256 DDR2 dim. After configuring the Ati card for a value of 32 or 64 in Bios, entering into Win XP, it displays a value of 128 MB SGDDR.
Then I bought another 256 dim (I have 2 x 256 ddr2 dims now), and an additional value of 128 appeared in the BIOS. When you now set the value 32, Win XP shows me 128 MB SGDDR, and when you set the value of 64 or 128 I get 256 MB SGDDR in Win XP (which is impossible! because the ATI Board is supposed to support only up to 128 MB). This problem can also be caused by the driver. I installed the drivers from the CD of Toshiba, and I can't find another driver to work for her. WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE WIN XP SHOW THE CORRECT VALUE FOR THE MEMORY OF THE GRAPHICS CARD? s ' Please help!

    Hello

As far as I know you can change the size of the UMA (default) 32 MB maximum. 128 MB.
This value, which you can change in the BIOS. I put t know where look you good value, but you should start to DirectX. Command: dxdiag.
Here, you can do any graphics test and you can see the total graphics memory

  • Satellite L30 - need for ATI RADEON Xpress 200 M driver for Windows 7

    Hello world
I have a Satellite L30 with an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 M graphics device.
I installed windows 7 and I have download the catalyst for ati driver on the site, but the computer does not work correctly. If I check the grafic system has recognized a generic VGA device and plug a generic monitor & play and the max resolution is 1024 x 768.
The problem is how to install the correct driver? How can I do recognize the Windows 7 ATI Radeon Xpress 200 M device?

    Thanks in advance.

    Stefano

    Hello

The Toshiba European driver page doesn't seem to provide the Win 7 disks for L30.
The L30 is a bit old and it seems that the drivers Win 7 will come out for this series more

On the European driver page, you can find the Vista display driver
In many cases the Vista drivers work under Win 7

I think you should try your luck and should try to reinstall the display driver of the Toshiba page European driver released for Vista OS.

Otherwise, you need to search on external 3rd-party pages

    Good luck

  • Pavilion p6267c: upgrading the video card ATI Radeon HP x 64 on hp pavilion p6267c after upgrade from Windows 10

Improved my p6267c HDMI (with factory-installed ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics card) to Win 7 winning 10 and lost some display resolution.  Had to move to resolution of 1920 x 1080 (recommended setting for my HP 2509 m monitor) up to 1680 x 1050 to maximize the size of the rear screen, to what she was using Win 7.  Now the screen's size, but the text is a bit fuzzy and just not as strong as before.  I've updated the driver to the most recent available for this old 2009 ATI card: 8.970.100.9001 which is the latest ATI and Microsoft for this card running Windows 10.  I tried the support hp and google for a replacement graphics card that will work in this office with its 300 Watt power supply.  I will modernize the card and power if necessary to refine the text I get now.   I'm not a gamer, so did not need graphics high power.  I can't believe there is not an answer out there for someone who has experienced the same problem.  Although I love Windows 10, I even considered back to Win 7.

PROBLEM SOLVED!   I took your suggestion and actually found a good deal on a different graphics card to replace the ati radeon HD 4350. BestBuy.com, I found a highly rated card that users have reported similar problems of fixed resolution after the 10th Winidows upgrade.  The map was available on sale for $40.99 (Orig 59.99).  It was available in my local store for 43.99, but they it ot me for the price online.  I am now running my monitor of 2509 m hp at 1920 x 1080 resolution recommended and everything's fine.  Here is the link for the nvidia GEOFORCE 610 GT 1024 MB DDR3 (model VCGGT610XPB) card:

The provided Driver CD is not working, but the website www.pny.com gave a newer driver for Windows 10 (64-bit).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem, that you are facing is that Microsoft provides only pilots with the most basic features and what you really need for these features in laptops is the specialized drivers written for the specific material found in laptops - and unfortunately, there is no HP Win10 laptop driver.  HP only guarantees the compatibility of Win10 for machines manufactured after August 2013. HP is not no matter what timetable indicating when, or IF, they will produce drivers for older machines.

This means that your PC is probably NEVER going to be fully functional under Win10 because the pilots is needs for all features simply do not exist!

To restore all the features, you will need to do a reset to factory using HP recovery media to its original operating system pre-installed.
