  This particular model was not certified for Windows 8 and I am not sure when and if it will be.

  Of particular note, this system is using switchable graphics.
  It is a big problem in Windows 8, Windows 8 drivers of HP without.   In the printers and devices window, check which shows the name of the printer and if it is set as the default printer.

  Print a configuration page to obtain the IPv4 of the printer address: print a Network Configuration Page.

  • Check the port assigned to the printer on the computer to see if it matches the IP address of the Configuration page.
  • In devices and printers, click right on the printer and on the left, click on printer properties, select the Ports tab.
  • It must be checked on the TCP/IP protocol.
  • Click on Configure Port to display the IP address.

  If the IP address does not, via the HP software, add a new device.
