DV7: Issues after replacing drive HARD and restoration

The original HARD drive failed.  I bought the game to restore HP 3 discs and a new larger HARD drive.  Restoration seems to be okay, but I am plauged by weird questions: I can not connect to the homegroup (a fine connected before) actually solving the problems of the homegroup does not work.  I compared it to another laptop that connects and the setting looks the same.

I got tired of this project, so I went to install Norton Security of Comcast.  I started using the tool of removal of Norton and then installed the packange of Comcast. Still, the installation seemed fine, but it will not be activated.  Norton online gives me an error "misc".  Coincidence?

I read some chatter about moving to a larger and faster HARD drive may need driver updates.  Any thoughts?

I used Norton removal (again) and downloaded the security suite from Comcast (again) and TaDA!  Success.  Why this time?  I have no idea, but it worked.  Thanks for responding

  • Replace drive hard and error on Windows Installer

The hard drive on my Dimension 8500 failed. I replaced the drive with a new hard drive, Samsung Spinpoint T Series HD501LF 500 GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0 Gb/s. I bought a new copy of Windows XP to install the disk that I had lost a long time ago the disks provided with the computer.

All went well for a while. I entered the BIOS and saw he was grateful the new drive. I started on the Windows installation disc and got through the first step of the process. Then, the installer gave me the error message could not find any hard drives. I went into the BIOS, and it has always recognized the hard drive.

I seem to be stuck now. Help!

  • Satellite A205-replaced drive HARD and recovery CD does not. Media test failure

    Help, please

My wife's computer crashed, everything has begun with damaged or missing file windows\system32\en. He takes to the geek squad and diagnostic test says corrupted hard disk.
(Trying to recover the data is another problem to solve later)

To save money, I ordered a new HDD (WD320GB) installed the new HARD drive, inserted the recovery disc and get the following message:

    Pre-seed execution Environment (PXE) v2.1
PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - M0F: Exit PXE ROM
    Operating system not found

I see the new HARD drive in the BIOS, I changed the boot order to boot with CD/DVD player but still the message above.

    What now?
Thanks for any help I can get.

    Hello

Can start you on another disk, mate?

Normally, this message appears if you can boot from the HARD drive or a disk bootable t. In your case, you need to install the OS on CD/DVD first so I think the recovery disc's maybe scratchy or the reader doesn t work properly.

Then, try another disc and see what happens. :)

  • System Restore to factory settings after replacing the hard drive?

I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre A52, which recently required a change of hard disk and the removal of a defective RAM 1 GB stick. When I bought my computer, it came with Windows XP Pro and the new hard drive that the updated computer has Windows XP Pro, but it seems to be missing a large part of the software (drivers and programs) that originally came with the computer, and even if I downloaded and installed most of them since the Lenovo Web site There are still some problems related to software that I can't fix. Ideally, I'd like to go back just to restore the system to the factory settings using the ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery program, but I don't know if it will work. All programs and the necessary drivers will be installed again, even if my current hard drive is not 'knows' thereon? I need to get a Windows XP Pro installation CD, if I want to keep my operating system? Also, is it important that my current hard drive is half the previous, or that I now have half as much RAM?

    Thank you

After replacing the hard drive, the only way to restore it to the State of the plant is using the Lenovo installation diskettes. You can also ask if Lenovo has a solution to your problem without having to reinstall Windows.

You can download Lenovo drivers if they are not included on the installation disk. The size of your hard drive does not matter.

  • How can I reinstall windows 7 after replacing the hard drive?

How can I reinstall windows 7 after replacing the hard drive? do I have to call microsoft or I can retrieve it somehow to the old hard drive?

Well, that certainly puts a different point of view on this subject.

There are data recovery services that can recover data from disks that have suffered from various types of failures. However, they are quite expensive. Unless the data is particularly useful, it is generally not useful.

If your Windows 7 is an OEM version, installed on the computer when you bought it, the manufacturer could have a recovery disk on sale. If it was a retail copy and you always have the appropriate product/serial number, you can get a DVD of their team of parts replacement.

Have installed Photoshop CS4. Replaced the drive hard and now I get error code 150:30. What should I do to get it working again

Migration of CS4 breaks the license. That's what 150:30 means. Assuming you are using a Mac.

You can use the Terminal method to repair the license... but I stress that carefully read you and understand the instructions here before you run it. beginning

If this isn't what you want to do, you have to reinstall.

150:30 errors mean that the licensing mechanism is broken, usually because the software moved instead of being re-installed.

Uninstall, reinstall from the disc or download then enter your serial number.
