  I'm working on an online radio application and I am very disappointed to see that the BB 10.1
  Simulator (10.1.0.1483) does not support the HTTP live streaming of multimedia files (MP3) M3U.

  I get the following message in the log of the device:

  MediaPlayer: prepare::Error attach the input source. URL: ""http://abc.xyzxyz.com:9156 / stream ', "
  error = UnsupportedMediaType

  and also when you try to navigate to the URL in the browser of the Simulator:

  The media file is from and not supported type or could not be loaded. It can not be played.

  I would like to know if the BB 10.2 Simulator supports HTTP live streaming of MP3 files, or do I have to buy a real device?

  Hi @burakk,

  My apologies for the late reply. Unfortunately, for the OS versions on the market to date, support for media playback on the Simulator is very limited. This is mainly due to problems of codecs required license. There is a support very limited no playback video and audio (uncompressed audio files in the WAV only). In later versions of OS Simulator, we might have the software decoding - if that happens, your use case would be satisfied then.

  I should be able to provide assistance on creating a new preset!

  Looking at the screenshot your provided it seams like you're very limited to the print settings.  I would recommend open TextEdit on the Mac computer.  TextEdit is located in the application folder.  The only reason why I recommend the use of text edit is just to create the new printer preset for optimal quality.  Once you have TextEdit open go to file and click on print.  You should get a preview window before printing.

  Please follow the steps:

  1. click on "Show details" if it does not say "hide details".

  2. choose "paper Type and quality.

  3. change the quality of 'best '.

  4. click on the drop down preset menu

  5. click on "Save current setting as a preset.

  6. type your name of preses (E.g. best quality)

  7. click on OK and reset your is now registered

  

  

  

  

  When you have finished creating the preset, you should be able to open your original print job and choose your new preset!

• Dynamic text field changes color but the bullets are not html text.

  I am tarea to use a dynamic text field to shoot in the html text that contains a bulleted list. Easy enough, that works. But don't take the balls on the color assigned to the field. I tried to put in the html text and also using NewTextFormat and no work. Someone can help me. This should be a simple solution, but I'm not... I want my text and bullets to both be white.

• mediaPlayer.state - play status not reported for live streams

  I'm listening for the MEDIA_PLAYER_STATE_CHANGE event on mediaPlayer to control the display of a chart of buffering. When you listen to a video recording I get an equal mediaPlayer.state to "buffer" followed by a State equal to 'play '. However, when reading a live feed I get the status of "buffer" but never to see the State of 'game '. Live video plays but the change event seems not be sent.

  The two videos are streaming from FMS.

  Has anyone else seen elsewhere? Please let me know if there are additional details, you want to know to help find it.

  Thank you Michael for reporting this issue, a bug is already ranked for that matter. You can listen to PLAY_STATE_CHANGE on PlayEvent with Live Stream to work around the problem until the bug is fixed.

  I am trying to establish why some websites in flash takes more time to load than others, in order to produce the best design for my website. Is it better to make a site in flash as a movie and have it load all at the same time. Or is it better to make separate sovereign wealth funds and when the home page is loaded, the others can be preloaded and used on request. the second option would reduce the loading time?

  It is not all a special formula.  Loading time is loading times, and the only way to minimize is to require the least of this possible.  This means optimizing content and treatment of bulky items in a more dynamic way, when possible.  Basically, try to keep the larger files, such as video/audio as content dynamically streaming that loaded on request rather than by default.  The same can go for large image files. You can't really control the speed at which someone could try to navigate somewhere, then trying to load things in the background isn't necessarily a relaible approach.  It allows loading of indicators for it that way.  Someone (including yourself) gives a good measure to assess whether they want to wait or not... I know that if I click on a link in a site and I don't see anything happening, I closed my browser before my anti-virus software may appear with a warning of infection.

  You can use pre-recorded images with a reader who Ch acknowledges. I use ManyCam and it works very well for video and audio.

  I was hoping to get some suggestions on how we could better use Acrobat Connect Pro for live stream an upcoming event. Every year we organize an event with a live and online audience. Traditionally, we asked our animators to talk into a microphone that is connected to a SOUND system in the room and then a separate microphone connected to a cell phone photos to the top of the audio that come out of the sound system and passes it on to the way to connect. I think there must be a better way to do it (maybe using a mixing console?), but I don't know how it works. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

  I've produced dozens of events like yours. The best solution is to find some kind of audio output on your SOUND system port. Maybe it's a headphone jack, but it works very well. What connection you can find, get a cable that connects to this port at one end and the other end to fit into your PC/Mac using either micro-dans or USB. You should only configure Flash to watch this entry. The best way to proceed is to run the Audio Wizard of Connect.

• Dynamic bitrate switching on Live Stream

  I have FMIS 3.5.  I installed it with practically all of the default values.  I have not changed the settings in the LIVE or VOD applications.

  Dynamic Bitrate switching is works well for VOD, but does not at all for the broadcasts. Make a regular on LIVE bandwidth detection and VOD applications give similar results, high bandwidth.  However, the LIVE NetStreamInfo.maxBytesPerSecond application shows an ability to very low bandwidth of all about maxBytesPerSecond = 19016, where in regard to its realization VOD around 637110 I can play one stream LIVE to high quality smoothly without any error.

  I don't know if this is relevant, but I get some occasional error messages in the log of the direct enforcement saying: prompted a fall (live/_definst_). Customers not allowed to broadcast the message.  These messages are not compatible and do not coincide with trying to use bitrate switching.
