The most important thing to consider when you use dynamic SQL statements, is to ensure that you are using Bind variables and not the value of filler directly as you did it tc.description ='| v_txntype |') ' ; + It is very bad.

Secondly, when you generate a string which uses apostrophes Q use notation that would be easier and more readable.

And on the error you get, that could be cause of there is no space before t1.type, then try this

Is - what your refcursor has a return type? In this case you can not open it with dynamic SQL. Change the Refcursor as a weakly typed cursor and give it a try.

Create table form another table in different schema throwing error when dynamic sql

With the help of 11.2.0.3 and was following the issue.
To create a table in a schema (b) using data from another schema (b)
If independent run in sqlplus create works OK but same sql in dynamic sql block saying the table or view does not exist.

Any ideas - don't want to grant all the schemaa.table schema b if can avoid.

You run the immediate execution in an anonymous block or a stored procedure? If it is a stored procedure, then as others have said, the owner of the procedure must have select privileges on granted directly schemab.table_name.

Another possibility, which would be the case for a stored procedure, or an anonymous block is that your code is something like:

v_sql: =' create table new_table in select * from schemab.table_name where...';

immediately run v_sql;

Select count (*) in the l_count new_table;

who will fail at compile time because new_table does not exist.

When you create objects using dynamic sqly you dynamic sql user to reference them in the block of code.

It is difficult to understand the code as there are many alternatives to the query that happens. Not really sure why it is written a lot of code.

Since the code of the AOS, that all extensions have been made on this page?

The error is coming in the method executeQuery viewObject. The executeQuery() method is replaced? If so, can you provide this code?

If this is not the case, try to print the query, the dynamic whereclause, the whereclause parameters, just before calling the executeQuery() and see what are the upcoming values. This will help you to debug more far.

The query in the error message it is only a bind variable, is there anywhere in the code, it tries to set multiple connection parameters?

If you think you need to use dynamic SQL statements to apply additional conditions (if you did not specify this) simply not so like this code you looks like it generates:

while I would say that you are better off getting:

Because the second query is only long, not n (plus some) lines long. No matter if you write SQL static or dynamic: you must write a SQL query appropriate, concise and not a huge, sprawling. Then you will not have to worry about the limitation of the data type VARCHAR2 holding the full text of the query.

If, after writing a nice concise sql query and it is always > 32 k long, so you might want to look at using the VARCHAR2S and DBMS_SQL data type. TO_REFCURSOR

The example tables and data and the required results will make usefule much easier to give advice.

Extract you the data from the SQL engine in the table of the record type. If the output data that cursor SQL must be read in the SQL engine and copied into the memory of PL/SQL engine.

Then, you send that VERY SAME DATA back to the SQL engine to be used by a SQL insert cursor.

Where is the logic behind the extraction of data from SQL in a PL/SQL table structure and then push this same structure table on the SQL engine database? What is the purpose to send data on a detour of underperforming and non-scalale through the PL/SQL engine?

You have any justification (technical or functional wise) to back up this absurd approach?

Why this can be achieved using a single SQL cursor that does both the choice (extraction) and (in bulk) insertion - using the plain old INSERT... SELECT structure?

And if the insert is variable, then what? Create a dynamic INSERT... SELECT cursor and execute it (using bind values). This simple... Right?

Assuming that the requirement is to find the partition in the table provided with the provided high value and the problem is that dba/all_tab_partitions.high_value is of type long, an alternative solution in the same sense that you already made is as follows. (I just used a slider instead of a function for the simplicity of the demo).

I don't know that there are other ways as well. Especially with the XML features, there are normally several ways to skin a cat.

How to escape ' in dynamic sql

I'm trying to escape single quote (') in dynamic sql, but could not find a way, I used the escape character / and two single quotes "but it did not work.

Here I am trying to generate dynamic SQL statements:

Two single quotes (withsome kind of escape aby) is correct.
From Oracle 10, you might find easier to use Q-rating:
```

2 quotes using simple (in any version of Oracle), you could do it like this:
```
select      'exec dbms_stats.gather_index_stats(ownname=>''SYSADM'', indname=>'''
    ||  iname
    ||  ''', estimate_percent=>DBMS_STATS.AUTO_SAMPLE_SIZE);'
from      test_missing_index;
```
The string must have a right single quotation mark before inname. It will be inside a literal text, so it must be doubled. Who is be the last thing in this literal text, so the single quotes that ends the literal comes just after him, having for result 3 consecutive single quotes.
Similarly, the literal immediately after iname begins with a single quote, therefore, immediately following the single quote which begins that literal, you have 2 single quotes.
