  I'm trying to use Anthony Rayner's excellent article / blog, Dynamic Quick Picks - APEX Style

  We focus on application Express: Dynamic Quick Picks - style APEX!

  All logic works well - if I select a quick choice in the form, the selected value appears on the form in the page an element (labeled FAIRY - see attachment).  I ran into one of the problems - quick pick list displays at the top of the region and not in the position of the element in the P502_QUICK_PICK_FEE page (created only to contain the logic as indicated in the note of Anthony).  On a lark, I tried Firefox and Chrome, and both give the same result.

  Note that the page element is defined in VIEW ONLY mode.  Anthony paper called to DISPLAY AS TEXT.  I tried to TEXT and other types, but the result is the same.  I thought it was the number of sequence, but since the page element "displays" where I expect (from the select list items FEES page) when I click on "edit links" in the developer environment, I do not think that is the question.

  See attachment to display an image (JPG) of the form.  Solutions, recommendations and/or assumptions are appreciated.

  First of all, many thanks to Anthony Rayner for his time and effort to provide a solution to my problem.

  I write what I believe to be the Anthony Rayner solution to my problem so that others can benefit from his teaching.  The problem is that I applied to the call to the procedure in bad.  The QUICK_PICK procedure that passes (2 arguments) the request item and list selection page that is applied by the quick pick link should be in the SETTINGS section of the item 'Add' of the page with the following: (a) based on = output of PL/SQL Code, Code b PL/SQL which emits HTML = both arguments of the procedure (quoted above).

  When followed, the pick list quick links appear directly under the page element of list selection and not at the top of the page.

  I'm trying to build a dynamic quickpick, so each label/value pair can be obtained by a select statement.
  I created the page elements in order to use the string substitution (& REP syntax) in the fields corresponding Label & value.
  Well, substitute string works very well in the fields of the label, but of fields only.

• Question about the browser inside "sandboxie" and download to save an attachment?

  I am very new to sandboxie. So please excuse my ignorance.

  I have the browser open inside sandboxie where I'm going to my gmail. I have an email from my son with a photo attachment. I have no trouble to consider this picture.

  However, I just found out that I couldn't save this picture on my computer HD. In sanboxie E-mail when I chose to save it in a folder in my computer HD shows like saved but when I close the browser and open my folder where I saved the photo allegedly - I can't find anything...

  So I guess that's the protection offered by sandiboxie?.  So if I need to save items of all reliable e-mails, I open my browser off sandiboxie to run my download?

  Yes, one of the goals of Sandboxie is to keep isolated... things so that, if you have accidentally downloaded a virus, he would be stuck in the sandbox [rather than infect your real system].

  Right-click on Sandboxie icon in your system tray, select Show THE WINDOW, the sandbox SAND SANBOX SETTINGS tab, DEFAULT ZONE.   On the left, click on the + sign of RECOVERY, to develop to reveal a QUICK RECOVERY.   You should see several locations of files listed there... perhaps including DOWNLOADS, DOCUMENTS, FAVORITES, or DESKTOP (even though I think some of your own peut be different).    You can add other folders of your choice.   These 'Fast food' files indicate the main areas where you want THAT Sandboxie really save files on your drive.

  It is spirit, back to your email address and see if you can direct download of your photo accessory in one of these files in particular.   When you do, you should see a popup of Sandboxie, indicating that the file is eligible for recovery, which means that it can be moved out of (side) of the sandbox.   I said in general to recover in the same folder (on my real system, as it was tyring to save in the sandbox).   And click on the RECOVER button.   If get you there, it should do the trick.

  There may be other ways to do it... but this method works for me.

  Also (now that you know where are the settings), there should be a setting to ask you to empty the sandbox when you exit the program... and it should also let you know that you have lingering there files which will be lost if saved.

  EDIT: actually, I just closed my browser sanboxed, not through QUICK-picked UP a file... and I get a screen to DELETE the CONTENTS of Sandboxie, again reminding me that I can still get the file [or well, delete the content of the Sandbox].   Certainly, it's been a while since I have set up the program, so I don't remember if it was a default option, or something I've tweaked.

  GPS and BlackBerry protect were both on before the phone was stolen, however when I try to follow via my computer it gives me a message saying that it was the last time my school 5 days ago and would not update the location of the phone, saying: it will be, as soon as the phone connects to the wireless network (which is highly unlikely).

  Also fantastic as a phone Blackberry is, I'm surprised that someone would steal such a serious phone.  It would be difficult to sell at a good price, because most users want a smart phone and more like a toy. With several carriers, once a BB is reported stolen its registration numbers are black listed. It can no longer be activated until the original owner cancels the flight report and has removed the blacklist phone.

  BB Protect would work for you if the phone can be reached by the mobile phone system and at the same time the GPS in the phone to work. If the phone has not been charged for the number of days very likely the battery is too low for any type of operation traceable. The thief would require phone charger.

  Today, most people know phones can be tracked very accurately, if they can reach the network. It would be better for you that the phone has a decent password to protect your data.

  I hope you said the stolen phone, and you should just get a new one. Never leave your phone on a table or in a place where anyone can quickly pick up when you're not looking. Always keep the phone cut to your belt or Pocket secure when you don't have it in your hands.

  I know a woman who works in a grocery store. She put her phone down just for a moment to serve a customer for a few seconds. His phone was quickly ripped off never to see again.

• APEX 5.0 - Classic - text not populated by LOV option report suggested a link

  I created a few new classic reports in my application. I want to connect column to redirect to another page.

  When I change the Type of the column to the 'link' and add the page target and Link Text is necessary.

  When I press the button of the suggestion, it shows #COLUMN_NAME # and other things that I have used before for this column.

• Misfortunes of date

  Apex 4.2.3.00.08 on XE 11 g. An application built with the attributes of globalization the DD-MON-YYYY value and everything was fine.   Works very well, with session state and the screen showing the string ' 12/08/2013-08:30 ' as an example.

  Now here's the part that makes me crazy. IF I change P219_STARTTIME to a single display element for a text field, it now fills the following '12 & #x2F; 04 & #x2F; "2013 08:30" on the screen and in session state. Cannot consider this garbage text in an actual date, which is my final goal.

  If I can go to change P219_DATE to mask format "MON DD YYYY", everything starts to work again, and P219_DISPLAY, always as a text field, becomes the value correct ' 08/12/2013 08:30 '. I can do this job using MON-DD-YYYY, but I don't want 2 standard date format between my data entry screens.

  It seems therefore to be working when the format is dd-mon-yyyy, but fails when the mask shape is dd/mm/yyyy.  In the end, starttime should be "mm/dd/yyyy hh24" but fails. "The mask of format ' dd-mon-yyyy hh24: salvation" works.

  Any ideas?

  Got 2 responses that seem to work.

  (1) for the "mm/dd/yyyy hh24' style, change the attribute Application (on the Security tab) HTML escaping Mode, change to extended Basic. (Tested it, and it solves the problem)

  (2) back to my preferred format 'dd-mon-yyyy hh24' model for the application and on the pages of dynamic loading to the source .csv containing many columns date, use transformation rules to reformat the many date the receipt (not yet tested) using logic as follows:

  new_updated_date DATE;

  BEGIN new_updated_date: = TO_DATE (: LAST_UPDATE_DATE, "MM/DD/YYYY HH24 '");

  RETURN new_updated_date;

• APEX 4.0: Dynamic action problem when hiding point page

  I created a dynamic Action that shows/hides a page element.
  When hide it, if this page is a text box, object, which resizes texarea is still visible... as well as quickpicks (as appropriate).
  If point page corresponds to a date, and quickpicks, quickpick labels are invisible, but the commas that separate them are still visible. Fortunately, date picker icon is hidden.

  Thanks for this posting. This is a known bug (#9811411) with dynamic stock control show or hide an element of the page currently only the following:
  

  • The item itself (the input, textarea, etc.).
  
  
  • Any other standard compound element (datepicker, color picker icon, all the list items Manager, shuttle elements, etc.).
  
  
  • An element label, if defined in the standard way (tag with an attribute 'for' corresponding to the attribute 'id' elements).

  We do control however no other currently defined attributes in the element definition (pre / post text, quick pick item controls, control center, etc.).

  There is a fairly simple solution, and it is to check the box 'Yes' to the ' show / hide all elements of the page on the same line "in the"Setting"region in the actions of 'Show' and 'Hide '. This will control everything, but the limit that you should not have any other elements on page displayed on the same line, because these will be also shown / hidden by doing this.

  Sorry for this current issue, I hope that the workaround can be useful until we can fix.

• In photoshop CS6, I can't understand how to keep a tab open with 'color picker', as in previous versions. I always want to have a tab open with this option, so I can use the H to quickly select lighter and darker issues. How do I do that?

  I think that is not the color picker, but it's rather (accessible via the window menu) color Panel which has the value (using the control in its right corner) to select cursors STL, as indicated above, so that you can ' use the H to select quickly the lighter and darker "values.
