  I set Thunderbird as my default email client. I have three accounts and they all work very well. However if I click on a link to the email address of someone in another application, it opens MS 'Mail' in point 8.1 of Windows. I tried to delete accounts in Windows but it tells me that the removal of my primary e-mail address account, will affect my loging in Windows?
  So far I have copy and paste other email addresses in Thunderbird, but it's a bit a work around.

  Can anyone help please? (Not a power user).

  1. Open the Recycle Bin and select one of the files that you removed. Chose file > back up. The file back to its folder.
  2. Open Safari and see if the problem returns.
     • If the issue is returned, you have identified the add-on causing the problem. Do not use or contact its manufacturer for an updated version.
     • If the question does not return, quit Safari and put back another file.

  You mean Outlook, the standalone version and not the new iteration of Live (live.com) mail to Outlook.

  I think that the default is to open in a new tab in the last active window, but you can check it out here and replace the default value:

  (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

  (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste link.o and make a pause so that the list is filtered

  (3) double-click the preference browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external and change it to 3 and OK change

  I can't click on links email on all pages. It causes Firefox open multiple tabs a lot, a lot, I can't close. My only recourse is to exit Firefox and restart it. It happens most of the time, while for clicking an e-mail link I have to open another browser altogether.

  Check the application of Mailto in Firefox > Preferences > Applications

  Make sure it is not set to the Firefox application.

  You are able to open other sites in Safari (links in the Mail application only open in Safari, so if you have hidden Safari they won't work email)? Have you tried to close Mail and Safari applications via the bar of multitasking to the iPad?
