• Corrupted incoming for Gmail account mail server settings

  After the upgrade to El Capitan, Mail was working fine, but then stopped working for my account Gmail after a few reboots of the mail app and maybe a reboot of the system. I found that my outgoing mail server settings were not accurate, then I fixed it those. Others have reported on this subject.

  I have another problem, however. My server settings for the account of Gmail incoming mail are corrupt. Instead of imap.gmail.com, incoming mail server settings are imap.mindspring.com. Probably, it is that I got my return e-mail address set on my mindspring email when sending the Gmail account.

  This field is locked for editing. How should I do? I don't want to remove the e-mail account and recreate completely. I'm very comfortable to do low-level stuff if anyone has some type of command line or other fixes.

  We have a handful of VMware servers, that we would like to get email alerts.

  I got regarding the grouping of these servers in a "service".

  Now, I need to make a few specific rules to receive alerts email for two situations:

  (1) when the virtual computer CPU usage exceeds 80% for more than 30 seconds.

  (2) when the available disk space is less than 20%.

  Insofar as the e-mail alerts, you can get them directly for all vmware alerts by setting the VMAdmin registry variable, or you can set the e-mail on the service parameters in the function generator

  I think the answer is that nobody knows. You're not the first to have met this strange phenomenon, and I don't know its cause has been found.

  On my own machine, I found that the settings stick if I clicked work offline before changing, and then closed WLMail and waited a few minutes before re-launch (it is always a good idea to close the program after activation or deactivation of SSL). However, this does not seem to work for another user suffers from the same malaise, so YMMV.

• Unable to turn off the e-mail alert tone

  New iPhone of my husband has the alert tone new message on 'None', but every time he gets an email, the tone of 'Note' dings. It is very annoying because he gets a lot of emails and the phone is constantly hanging. We tried to change the tone, then change back. We tried to close the phone, then restart.   Have more than one e-mail account on the phone? If so, one of the other accounts can always be on a tone. Go to settings > Notifications > Mail and check.

  Mail does not distinguish source of your mail.

  The sound depends on your speaker volume and if you have all the other sounds coming out of these speakers of same - it can get lost in the mix.

• Schedule e-mail alerts are sent to the wrong email address

  When I create an event in the calendar, and then select a custom alert I chose a 'send e-mail' and select an e-mail address and a time so he could send the alert. Which works very well.
