East - the windows search index really slow PC?

I have TuneUp utilities 2012 and after analysis of my laptop it recommend me to put windows search indexes...

So I want to know who really does slow down of pc?

Yes exactly... They cause more grief they give happiness.

Any procedure, be it manual or a click difficulty, which promises to speed up a computer will eventually weaken the system to the point where it becomes almost unusable.

The best way to a faster computer is to buy a faster computer.

What is "windows search indexing" and what good, it is for me?  I have 336 files 'indexed '... I don't know where or what they are, or why they have been listed in the first place.

    Hi prattdl,

The "Windows Search Indexing" is used by Windows search function, the indexing service makes 'faster' research by creating an index (or list) of all the existing files on the computer to be able to run faster search file, however, in my opinion, the indexing service is not very useful or necessary if you aren't looking for Windows-dependent I suggest to disable if you do not use Windows search.

I would like to know how to permanently disable the Windows Search Indexer in my Windows7 operating system otherwise fantastic?

All you need to do is click the Start button, type Services in the research field and click the enter key.  Scroll down and right-click on Windows Search, then select Properties.  Change the startup type for disabled which will stop it from running when you restart your machine.  You can also click on the Stop button to stop the service immediately.

Am really struggling to tackle this and write the change command of this place.

If we have a file server to Server 2008 R2 with the installed file server role and the role or function of the Windows Search Service deployed (with IFilter filters and suitable for indexing added directories)-will be a Server 2008 R2 TS/Citrix user research their mapped drive using the index stored on the file server?  Or the index must be created on each server by connecting to the file server?  Can't seem to find an answer final yay or not in spite of several rounds of the documentation.

  • How to prevent her hogging the disk of Windows Search Indexer?

I am running Windows 8 Enterprise. From time to time, Windows Search Indexer starts hogging the drive - see the Task Manager as much as 10 MB/s of the indexer service alone.

It is quite common to be not only a nuisance, but a major problem - this kind of results of the use of the disc in constant applications freezing, same mouse stuttering. I did have this kind of problem on Windows 7.
I also suspect that Windows should be to avoid this kind of use of the disc by any application. I think that there is no limitation that happens and any application can monopolize the disc.

    Hello
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

From your problem description, I understand that Windows Search Indexer shows 10 Mbps in the Task Manager.

  • Disabled the Windows search option and can no longer switch back on. Any ideas?

    My problem:
I can not turn on WINDOWS_SEARCH with the box Panel configuration/programs/WindowsFeatures. I get error "an error has occurred. Not all features have been changed successfully. »
I rebooted and logged on as administrator with the same result. Windows Search Fixer gives the message "Windows Search is not updated... This issue applies only to Windows Search 4 or a later version. ».  Please note that I updated Win7pro64Sp1 to date. An update can't find any other updates. In addition, there is no Windows Search service listed in services.msc.
What I think caused the problem:
I was wondering if Windows Search may use too many resources so I thought I would try disabling it for a while. I used the control panel configuration/programs/WindowsFeatures check the box to disable Windows Search. I also stopped the Windows Search service with services.msc and I believe manual setting (disabled) because I only wanted to run 'on demand' so to speak. When I realized that I had lost the search to RUN from the button box START, I have tried to re - activate the search function of Windows.
    What I tried:
After repeatedly trying the FixIt tools as administrator, I looked everywhere on the internet for a few hours. Almost all refers to the Windows Search function; but I have not even listed anymore. There is some guidance on the definition of a key to RegEdit (search index finished) to 0 (in my case it was a 1), but after this the FixIt did not yet & neither did attempts to reactivate the feature. The only direction that comes close is:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2484025.
These instructions of sense, but they do not work: there are three. BLF and. REGTRANS-MS files in the C:\windows\system32\config\TxR folder as even by admin full granting rights I can not remove - the message says they are in use by "SYSTEM":

When I tried to activate the search functionality of Windows on another game of .blf & .regtrans-ms files are added:
    {016888cc-6c6f-11de-8d1d-001e0bcde3ec}. TxR.blf 26/11/2012 23:28 0 KB > 64 KB

    {016888cc-6c6f-11de-8d1d-001e0bcde3ec}. TxR.1.regtrans - ms 26/11/2012 23:28 0 KB > 5 120 kB
    {016888cc-6c6f-11de-8d1d-001e0bcde3ec}. TxR.2.regtrans - ms 26/11/2012 23:28 0 KB > 5 120 kB
Even with granting of control full administrator in these files I can't remove them as suggested by the KB/2484025.  I get a message "cannot complete, open in the file system."  After trying to remove them from the TxR.0 - 2 became 5 120 KB and 64 KB .blf. The old files are still there.
Earlier, I tried to start without failure/Cmd prompt mode.  Even with [...\config\TxR\ERASE/p/f/a H *] I was unable to delete the .blf files & .reg-trans-ms. The message says something like "file used by the process.

    Conclusion:
I am really at a loss to go further.  I'm guessing there is a corruption of the registry that makes your computer think think search runs & locks files.
Any ideas to solve this problem. I want to just re - enable Windows Search without re-setup of the computer.
I think that the best starting point If someone can tell me how to remove the files recommended by http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2484025.
I tried, but my knowledge of the command prompt is not enough.  How do you delete these files that refuse to die?

    Hello

I suggest to perform a restore of the system and check if it helps.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/system-restore

If this is not enough, you can perform an upgrade on the spot also known as the name of a repair install. This will just replace the files corrupted and missing Windows and leave your files and settings intact.

It uses a large amount of memory and want to know if I disable it, it will make my computer run slower? or faster printing, its not work constantly. Is it really necessary for nothing? Or I have nothing to fear if I do not disable it.

(Sorry if this isn't in the right topic)

    Hello

The difference, if you disable the search indexer will be the speed of searches that you perform on the system. With the active search indexer, research will be instant, and with this option turned off, they will take a lot of time. It's the performance issue only if you turn off this feature.

If you have recently enabled the search indexer, it is normal for this component to use a lot of resources, but once the indexing is completed, the resources will be negligible.

The search indexer is also designed to perform indexing when your computer is idle. If you start to use the computer, the indexer will pause until it detects an idle state.
