  I have LR 5.7 with > 15 k photos in a catalog on an external drive with more than 3 TB of free space. I have not moved any files. Recently, I noticed that files are missing from the library list, and now, almost all records in the State Library that there are pictures of '0' in the folder. The catalog function says it all.   There is an option in the library menu on the "show pictures in subfolders. If this option is not selected, and there is no images in the folder listed, then it will show that there is no photo. If you check this option, then all the photos that are in subfolders will be accrued. But that means that if you click on the folder that is listed all photos in subfolders appear so.

• LR does not previews or thumbnails in the library

  I have LR CC 2015. I used without problem until yesterday. Yesterday, I downloaded two different sessions of two different cards, and the thumbnails do not appear in the library, they show the rectangle where the image should be, but it is grayed out. When I put in at the point, the image will be displayed in the window and the thumbnail of the selected image will be displayed, but the rest remains grayed. I tried LR remove and reinstall twice, as well as to reimport images, all with nothing done. Help, please!

• Missing items in the library again

  I think I miss a lot of modules in my library in yet.  It has been awhile, but I update for CS5 to CS6.  I was about to do a tutorial for still and notice, that I had nothing in my library.  I did the library, title templates and model projects missing: Premiere Pro, After Effects, still download.

  I guess I just needed yet.  I had a few items in the library, but I think I'm missing some.  For example I did what eleven elements of the General menu in the library and I have only two points in the sport Golf is - this correct?  I won't go through each tab but dose - anyone know the said number of items in the library?  That's what I have for the menu.  Corporate: education of the Menu 6: 4: 4, general entertainment: Government 11,: 2 Sports: 2 technology: trip 4: marriage 10:10 items.

  In the tutorial on Lynda.com, for example, the author has a point 10 stars in his library which I did not, as for the fonts it 36 pt Aqua and other that I have.  I think I've had these before. It seems that I lack many styles of fonts also etc.  Need help.

• Speed - the size of the preview and thumbnails of the library

  I have recently upgraded from iView to Lightroom for cataloguing.  Lightroom has great benefits for cataloguing, but it is much slower than iView.

  Lightroom seems to be seen rendering of each thumbnail even in the library where I am perfectly happy with a grid of 60 images on a screen.

  Is it rendered previews of standard size even if I put my preference catalog previews of 1024 pixels?  After all, if all I usually want is a thumbnail, it's a lot.  On a test catalog, I imported standard size previews but my catalog was 8 GB and there was always one step behind, that I scrolled down the thumbnails in the grid view (realistic only about 1 second, but iView had no time lag in the same situation).

  I'll edit the Preview size Standard - catalog settings - and select 1024.  Then go to file - import Photos from disk and select initial previews - Standard.  It will be important to them with built in previews of 1024 pixels. These glimpses will be then stored in the Previews.lrdata folder.

  Afret resettlement of Digital Editions, deleted all files PDF, managed to remove all instances of digital editions and "return item" - ignored the fact that it gave me error E_BAD_LOAN_ID. Revint Open Library, and the book shown always as it has already borrowed. Tried to download in different formats, and fortunately open Libriry detected that it was borrowed for me, but that I had a problem opening it. They gave me an option to download it again, and that solved my problem. After a few hours tinkering. I would have finished the book right now!

  When you find a photo, I clicked on the "all photos" and discovered the photo I was looking for wasn't there.  However, I find it very well when I click on the folder in which it is.   I checked and missing photos are not buried in collapsed chimneys, that was my first thought.

  Can someone help me understand why a whole range of photos are not displayed in ' the Photograpsh' and hot to bring included it?

  First of all, I hope that this is a transposition in version numbers. If this isn't the case, update 1.4.1 asap! (OR 2.4, a paid upgrade!)

  Two possibilities, one immediate, you have an active filter so it is the omission of the photo.

  If this is not the case, use synchronize folder to bring in the missing image. If that is wrong, try to import the picture as if it was new.

  Check, if pictures can access the original files of your pictures, or if the originals are missing.

  You can test to try to edit a photo or trying to export it with "file > export > export original file..."

  Photos can be edited or exported?

  Shooting Raw or JPEG?  Where your photo library is stored? On an external disk or in your pictures folder?

  I recommend you do this:

  1. Download, install and run the Restore of System Explorer. It's free.
  2. Set up a System Restore Point that is earlier than the loss of your files.
  3. Carefully review the records and files under \Users\Edgars. If or when you find the missing files, copy them to your usual files. If there are other files such as \HolidayPictures, review them too.
  4. Treats this event as a sharp reminder that important files should always be stored on two independent media, usually on the internal drive and an external hard drive in a USB enclosure.

  I can download them to my PC Windows 7 without problem, but when I'm in the 'my videos' library, all my old. Video files AVI (from a previous camera) display as thumbnails of the actual video (which is really convenient to quickly identify what is talking about the video), but all my new. Show only MOV files as an icon of a hot air balloon on a strip of film behind a musical note (which I think is just a symbol of a media file).

  I found a solution for this problem on the 64-bit windows 7!
  
  I changed and added a few keys in the registry to fix this thing to preview:
  IN REGEDIT:
  _ HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov\shellex\
  where I had only 2 keys inside the shellex.
  _I watched inside the shellex mpeg (because mpeg would generate good thumbnails):
  HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov\shellex\
  where he had 3 keys
  _SO what I tried was to copy these 3 key and replace my key shellex .mov with those 3.
  That's what you can do:
  -Open regedit
  -Click on: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov\shellex\
  then export it (this will be your backup in case this does not work, or mess you something you'll just have to click on it to install it again.
  Then,
  -remove the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov\shellex\"KEY.
  -Open Notepad
  -Paste the following text in your Notepad file:
  -don't paste this line-
  Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

  [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov\shellex]

  -Double-click on the file reg saves you just you just saved, it will be to reinstal the shellex inside the key of .mov here:
  HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mov
  with the right keys and stuff.
  -Close regedit
  -Open a folder that contains your. MOV, refresh the file several times to be sure, it should work.
