Eception exception: field added to a Manager, while it is already apparent

I created a BlackBerry java application and added two RadioButtonFields him and but it gives an untrapped exception execption: field added to a Manager, while it is already apparent. If I remove the code for RadioButtonFields, then also it gives this execption again. Please tell me the solution...

If you run this code during debugging, you should be able to use the trace the stack to determine which 'Add' is, failing and there where the field has already been added to a Manager.  Give it a go.

  • How can I display the last field added to the Manager (bottom) and keep the scrolling feature?

    Issues around scrolling on managers of blackberry is a real headache.

    I would like to be able to add fields to the bottom of a Manager and have this field displayed on the merits without taking the focus to another control.

    I'm looking for something similar to how works the yahoo chat window, for example.

    I was not able to get the last label field added to the box to display.

    Here is the code relavent I have:

     //adds a labelfield and a nullfield to the display    public void update()  {     UiApplication.getUiApplication().invokeLater( new Runnable()        {            public void run()            {             try               {                 scrollingWindow.add(new LabelField("Hello1" + count) );                   //add nullfield to facilitate scrolling                   NullField nullField = new NullField( NullField.FOCUSABLE );                   scrollingWindow.add(nullField);                   count++;              }             catch( Exception ex )             {                 Dialog.alert( ex.getMessage() );              }            }        }); }

    Any ideas?

    Couple of quick things:

    (1) you can make your LabelField focusable and save adding the NullFields

    New LabelField ("Hello1" + count, Field.FOCUSABLE)

    (2) have you tried to discover what field has focus, then set the focus on your new field, and then reset back to that he originated from?

  • Smartphones blackBerry Eception Exception errors

    Hello

    I am desperately hoping someone can help!

    I have a BB Pearl 3 G with BBOS6

    I was updating some apps (Whatsapp, BBM). The phone asked to restart, I said that was fine.

    When he had finished his restart e-mail, sms and browser icoms no longer worked (I would like to click on them and nothing would happen at all) and the phone would freeze.

    The error messages I get are:

    Eception exception: Application net_rim_bb_messaging_app (78) does not...

    and

    Eception exception: Application net_rim_bb_browser_daemon (96) does not...

    Once I managed to get the error 523 reset I did but it did not help.

    I tried several resets hard (remove the battery when the phone is turned on, left for several hours and then replaced) all to nothing does not.

    I can't find a reference to these errors online.

    Someone at - it a solution?

    Help, please!

    Hello and welcome to the community!

    There is virtually no diagnosis of those - they are the equivalent of random errors in Windows for which trace the root cause is futile. Basically, here's the last out in the programming code - some event occurred for which there is no event handler in the code. The patch is an update of the code that handles the event... but, again, what is the event is almost impossible. So, there are a few things to try:

    Sometimes, the code simply is damaged and needs to be updated - just like a reboot:

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    If it doesn't boot properly, then you need to try Safe Mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode

    There may be a code updated to the value of the carrier - check out them through this Portal:

    The toughest possible causes are a bad application behave. To find it, there are two options. Is to see if you can read the log file:

    Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type "lglg". (You won't see anything as you type). This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably a lot of pages) until you see a line that says "eception execption. Click on this line. The application name will be in the info. Alternative methods to implement the newspapers are in this KB:

    • KB05349 How to activate, view, and extract the the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone

    The other method is to remove the apps one at a time, wait a while between the two (I usually recommend a week), until the problem stops... revealing the offending application. Yet another method is to recharge the BB OS itself, leaving little time between the addition of other applications on the BB in order to be able to determine exactly what is the cause.

    Good luck and let us know!

  • Smartphones from blackBerry 8350i eception exception java.lang.NullPointerException after hard reset

    basic information:

    8350i

    v4.6.1.204 (Platform 3.0.0.73)

    Desktop Manager 4.7

    everything is good except that I was using two batteries, one in the phone and the other in a charger. When the battery is almost empty I swap with one charge naturally causing a hard reset.

    This procedure worked well for at least a week or two, until last month when I swapped batteries - after the hard reset, I had

    Eception exception: java.lang.NullPointerException

    I could make calls, but all other software were corrupted... practically nothing else worked... missing icons etc.

    tried all kinds of solutions, but the only thing that fixed it was a full-on device software erase/recharging, then a restore of data since the previous backup. at the time, I thought it was just something random and was happy to learn how to do a full charge of the software.

    then yesterday it happened again (even once, at the end of the security check immediately after the hard reset). now I'm afraid to swap batteries because it seems that every time I have hard reset it recharge a 10% chance (I guess) of corruption of software and a complete takes considerable time.

    If anyone else has noticed this? does anyone have a solution?

    can I change batteries without a hard reset; i.e. Exchange while that connected to the power supply? I have not tried this yet for fear of harming my BB.

    any help is appreciated,

    John d.

    15 seconds is too short period of time.

    It took at least a minute before returning the battery.

    Error you reported is related to badly written in device memory operating data.

    In most cases, helps to battery pull. But you must wait at least one minute before you put the battery on the device.

    When you do battery pull make sure that this device is not connected to any external device or the wall charger.

    In the event of battery pull does not help, I recommend to consider wiping the device memory.

    If anyone has any idea how to cure this and is willing to share with me, I'll be your friend for life.

    Kind regards

    you have a lot of contacts?
    If I were you, I would like to use the Desktop Manager to back up the database of BB Messenger.
    then restore it.

    see if the problem persists. If so, then you can erase this data base (then you can invite all your contacts again).

  • Smartphones blackBerry eception exception: Application net_rim_medialibraryplayer (291) does not. process is completed

    Hello world

    I'm listening to music with my blackberry 9700, but as soon as I select a title and click on play all crashes and I have to restart the device.

    After indicating my pin code, I get the error message "eception exception: Application net_rim_medialibraryplayer (291) does not; process is completed.

    What this means and what I can do about it?

    Your help is really appreciated.

    Thank you very much in advance.

    Miriam

    Hi and welcome to the forums!

    "After indicating my pin code, I get the error message" eception exception: Application net_rim_medialibraryplayer (291) does not; process is completed.

    Do you mean your device is password protected, and you enter the "pin" or you

    must enter a PIN in order to listen to a song?

    I guess that your support is on a memory card, if you take it off you have the same error?

    No problem with the ringtones and alerts?

    The first step would be a traction battery as shown below.

    No data will be lost when you do the following: remove the battery while the device is activated.
    Replace after one minute, let the device reboot 10 minutes, see if the problem is corrected. I like to leave the device completely reindex the files.

    If this doesn't solve your problem, try raising the phone in safe mode;

     KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode.

    Check the settings of your media card, if they are correct, reverse them and reset. Then battery pull.

    Use the following settings in the segment of memory of the menu options.
    (options > memory)
    Card support ON
    NONE encryption mode
    Media transfer protocol WE
    WE support mass storage
    Auto enable mass storage support when it is connected TO

    (still in status > scroll to security options > encryption0)

    Make sure of course have no content protection enabled.

    Battery pull what happens?

    If all else fails, I would use the following to verify your card (save the media BEFORE!)
     ' KB14745 ' " Memory card error, please use disk utility control on computer" is displayed on the home screen of the smartphone BlackBerry.

    I've left the best for last, which would be a wipe and charging the device, OS, after a full backup successful device using Desktop Manager.

    Try and see if you can get the following error information:

    KB17215 How to extract information from a BlackBerry smartphone with the Chargers or incorrect command line tool

    And the last would be the device OS reload.

    KB13323 Untrapped exception errors appear on the BlackBerry smartphone

    Let us know how it goes!

    Thank you

  • Eception exception: Application test1 (176) does not. process is completed

    My application appear error message "Eception exception: Application test1 (176) does not; the process is completed. ", by searching on this forum, it seems that the queue is full." I have a timer thread that publishes events to the event from the queue by like that

    UiApplication.getUiApplication () .invokeLater (new Runnable()

    {

    public void run() {}
    any code to update the user interface

    }

    });

    My Question: Is there a way to check how full (number of items) is the queue of the event? What is the maximum elements it may contain?

    A related question:

    Can I replace all the invokeLater() call with UI code in a worker thread associated with acquiring the lock of the event running?

    synchronized (UiApplication.getUiApplication () .getAppEventLock ())
    {
    any code to update the user interface

    }

    This code runs in a worker thread but held event lock, no problem with this code?

    You don't mention your test environment.

    If it's in a real device, you can use the Javaloader utility to retrieve the log of events to a text file, using the USB cable. This utility is provided with the JDE, but you will need to have a recent version of Desktop Manager isntalled to get the current USB drivers for your device.

    Another method (which works on the SIM and the device), is to view the log of the events on the device running or the Simulator.

    For non touch devices, go to the home screen and type:

    L G L G

    To contact devices, go to the home screen and hold the «?» 123"key for a few seconds, then type ', 5, 5".

  • Lack of Smartphones blackBerry and eception exception address book...

    Hi all

    My wife just bought a "BOLD" and we have some questions. The first came as "eception exception - java.lang.NullPointerException" and the second was a missing address book.

    Here's a little background. My wife uses a MAC and we were able to get contacts to synchronize using PocketMAC. However, after the power off after normal use and backup starts, we have received two errors. Under contact options, it says there are 68 contacts, but none show. I tried to re-synchronization, but nothing. I checked the device using my PC and the office for the address book Manager and it does not show under backup/restore, advanced, database of the device.

    Someone has an idea what is the deal?

    Thank you in advance.

    Thanks to everyone who responded and saw the post. Late last night, after having talked to a few people and read all the posts, I thought it would be best to wipe the device and start again from factory settings. So far, wipe the device seems to have solved the problem.

    My best guess for the cause of the problem was a defective popular third-party application. I came to this conclusion because I have not tried to download or load this application since the wiping device.

    Thanks again for all the advice.
