Edit / split Mp3 files into pieces

Hello

My Russian Professor makes nice MP3 files to show the pronunciation of the Russian.

To add who uttered the words in the file of Anki I want to split the MP3 file in mp3 format, small files each file containing a separate Word.

Preference the Division carried out automatically using the silence between the words.

Small mp3 files be corrected in a csv file to load in Anki.

Rob

GarageBand doesn't have a tool to divide an audio region in the silence between the words and export which segments as new audio files automatically.

You can create a new audio file for each word by marking the word with the cycle of the region and the sharing of the project to a folder on your disk.  GarageBand will only export the part marked by the sequence in a loop.

Audio Hijack can split audio files in the silence between the parties, but I never tried to divide between the individual words.

  • SQL / PLSQL to split the string into pieces

    Hi all

I have a problem of data conversion from the name of one table to another structure.

    for example

    SQL > desc names
    Name Null? Type
    ----------------------------------------- -------- ----------------------------
    TITLE VARCHAR2 (5)
    FNAME VARCHAR2 (20)
    LNAME VARCHAR2 (20)

    SQL > Data desc
    Name Null? Type
    ----------------------------------------- -------- ----------------------------
    FULLNAME VARCHAR2 (50)

    Insert in data values ("SIR I HAVE ONE NAME PARTICULARLY LONG INDEED");
    Insert in the data values ("MINE IS EVEN MORE, ENOUGH RIDICULEMENT so IN FACT");

Essentially, I need to divide these names long, stored in the 1 field, in the above 3 fields. The trickiest part is however I want to do it in such a way so that if the 1st part of the name fits the 1 5 char field I want to do, otherwise I would divide between 2 fields - once again without splitting a string. The reason behind this is that application will automatically put a space between each field when they appear and I would avoid gaps in the names if possible.

This baffled me a little if any help would be seriously great... it might not even be a go-er, as it might be too uneconomic with the amount of available space, but I would give it a shot.

    Thank you!

  • How to split large files into several small files

    MS7

I have a big file (20 GB) I want multi folders to back up on a DVD.

    A few quick options-
-You can either make new folders in the same location as the folder that you want to reduce the size of,.
    EG - C:\ YourUsername\My Documents\
or make new 'Sub-folders"in the files in the folder in question and to move towards these new records before
    the copy.
    - Or, you can create separate folders on the DVD and copy groups of files in these folders.

You can also consider doing a disc external HARD for these past and future backups.

  • Need for SOUL of breaking into pieces of 4 GB.

I send a video clip of 25 minutes 1080p24fps via a CF card in the editor.  Would be nice if SOUL had an option to do this.  If so, I don't know.   Looks like my only option is to break the sequence in small sequences myself and export them separately.

    True?

Next time I'll ask for a disk instead of a card CD external HARD...

I don't think that the SOUL has that capability directly. I will be corrected, if wrong.

Instead, just use the WAB (work area bar) to export in the pieces that you need. Since you're dealing with file sizes and no duration, a little bit of math will be required.

Another possibility would be to use an archiving program like WinRAR to split the file into pieces to your specifications. The recipient should then the program to "mount" the files on their computer.

Another option would be to ship on a drive external HARD, rather than on a map. Packaging and shipping costs will increase slightly, but this is how to send large files and usually have a couple of external transit at any time.

    Good luck

  • Two problems with MP3 files for interactive PDF files

    1. I put in two excerpts from interview to an interactive pdf. Last week when I tried to import the first MP3, I had him "cannot place this file. "Error message no filter for the requested operation." I don't know anything about audio files, so I tried just to MP3 on the App store, which has converted my MP3 file to another MP3 file, I guess. The new file has worked well.

I got the second file today and had the same problem. I sent the following URL (esign-cs5-which-was-edited-with-audacity-and-converted-with-switch, http://indesignsecrets.com/forum/general-indesign-topics/how-to-place-an-mp3-file-into-ind http://indesignsecrets.com/forum/general-indesign-topics/no-filter-found-for-requested-ope mp3-ration) I found which seem to describe problems similar to our sound guy at work. He tried to reduce the bitrate, but it won't do any good. So when I got home, I tried MP3 and it solved the problem again.

Anyone know why this is happening?

    2. once I got the first audio file in place, I wanted to replace the little gray box that Acrobat highlights. Bob Levine suggested

    http://InDesignSecrets.com/hiding-sound-files-in-an-interactive-PDF.php

that worked great, but I needed a way to control the sound. I tried a variant of Steven Werner suggestions in

    http://InDesignSecrets.com/hiding-sound-files-in-an-interactive-PDF.php

It was working fine, when I was just a play button / pause, but when I added a curriculum vitae, the play button just stopped working. I tried all kinds of variations, to get rid of stocks double in the buttons from the new files, new buttons, but the play button just didn't work. In my last essay, the play button worked, but only after I had press resume. So I'm completely puzzled.

Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you.

    I use InDesign Mac OS x 10.6.8 7.0.4

  • with audition, is it possible to open, edit, and save an mp3 file without having to re - compress it?

I have a few audio files recorded only in the form of mp3 and need to make a few small internal changes. Is there a way to open files, make some basic changes, and then save them back in the form of mp3 without having to re - compress them and loss of quality? Could I, say, open a mp3 file, make cuts and pasta, then save the file as, example.wav and then simply say rename example.mp3? I use Adobe Audition 3.

Short answer: No. hearing (and virtually every audio editor) running in native mode as a .wav file, so you have to convert your MP3 then recompress to work on it.

Longer answer: MP3 as a format is a by-product of the evolution of the MPEG video compression.  For this reason, your records do not exist as a series of individual samples, MP3 comes from "managers" as it would be as well as photos.  This makes it impossible to do anything, but the simpler native editing MP3 format.  There are specialist pieces of software that can do things like adjust levels and cut coarsely to points in the MP3 format, but they are quite limited in what they can do for the reason that I mention.

Personally, I'll wave format as long as I can and never convert to MP3 at the end, for distribution, or by e-mail or other.

  • Convert a text into an MP3 file in the Alex voice?

    Hello world

Is it possible to convert a text file to an MP3 file in the Alex voice on the iPad or Windows PC?  Apparently, this can be done on the Mac.

I use the Alex voice to read the text all the time on my iPad, and I would like to be able to save the text as an MP3 file so that I can play on other devices (for example, iPod, Windows PCs).  So far I could not find built into the functionality of the iPad or iPad app that would allow me to do.  I also was not able to find any program for Windows PC that does this.

I found various programs that convert text into MP3 files (for example, TextAloud3, Voice Reader home 15, etc.), but I like the Alex voice much more than the voice in these programs, so I really hope that there is a way to do it on the iPad or Windows PC.

Thank you in advance for your help!

N ° you can't do on an iPad. I don't think there's a way to do it on a Windows PC since voice is the property of Apple, as far as I know.
