Effect of the Preview

Sorry if there is already a thread about this, but I'd really like to see previews of the effects in the effect controls panel.  Its waste and a real pain to time through each of the effects for text and images to see what one is the best.

Using After Effects, we used to have a 'Effect galleries' section that has tried to do, but it doesn't have the reasons Szalam mentions. Go to the section "Galleries effect" here to see what I mean:

http://help.Adobe.com/archive/en_US/AfterEffects/CS4/after_effects_cs4_help.PDF

But we have removed this section because it did not really help in any real way, since there is no way to show the possibilities and uses for effect with a simple image static or two - or even a movie preview.

There are still images that illustrate some of the effects in the respective aid of After Effects reference sections, as you can see in different sections here:

    Hi Chen,

If you want objects of style outside the properties available in the Animate application, you can do this by using the following syntax:

    .CSS ({$("myObject") sym.

    'background-color': 'red ',.

    "width": "200px".

    });

However, this will only preview in the browser and not on stage as the code is not running at the time of the creation. You would get yourself in a place quite bad if this has happened since the events would trigger when you try to change

If you have a style sheet that you have linked to your project, you can also add a class of objects that reflect the CSS when you preview in the browser.

  • After Effects using 5 GB of ram for the preview of a video 12 MB in size without any effect.

I after effects CC 2015 to date.

    My terms of reference are:

    CPU: i5 6500 3.2 Ghz

8 GB of RAM: DDR4-2133 MHz RAM

Storage:256 GB SSD (on which After Effects is installed)

    1 TB HARD DRIVE

Graphics card: GeForce GTX M 970, 6 GB

All the drivers are up to date.

The problem is: I create a new project and import a video in. The video has a full HD resolution and is 12.5 MB in size. First of all, it takes a minute to play the video of RAM so that it begins to play in real time. Then, the video is 30 frames per second, but reading the preview, he plays at 60 frames per second (frame rate is defined as 30 fps in composition settings). I saw the RAM usage in the Task Manager and After Effects using 5 GB of RAM. Then I applied an effect and the CPU usage rose to 100% and it took about 5 minutes to get the applied effect, and after that, After Effects crashed.

I'm quite new to After Effects, but I'm also a tech geek. I tried to play in the settings but it didn't help. I also searched on google and forums, but to no avail. This problem is essentially what makes the software unusable for me. Please HELP!

You do not want to edit long movies in AE. After effects is NOT video editing software.  A non-linear editing (NLE) like Premiere Pro is for editing photos to tell a story. AE is for compositing, Visual effects and graphic cartoons. It is for the creation of clichés that you then use in an NLE.

I suggest to get at least 16 GB of RAM to work with AE, but your system should work as it is. You will need to learn to manage your memory well and to get a glimpse at lower resolutions where possible.

Now, as to your original question. AE is not simply to play a video stream, as does a NLE. After effects (such as other software based compositing on pixels) with completely decompressed frames. When you put a video compressed in a composition, the size of the original video file has no effect on the size of the images that works with After Effects. After effects unpacks this video and works internally with a full, uncompressed resolution, frames. AE calculates the values of each pixel in each image, comes with a new pixel and then reads these pixels. Who is?

In fact, since you have so little RAM and the processor is not either, it may be a good idea to convert your video files highly compressed in a good intermediate codec for the shots, that you intend to use in AE. QuickTime with the PNG codec would be a decent choice. This way AE doesn't have to do a ton of work to decompress images behind the scenes until you can even work with him.

  • Scroll wheel of the mouse in the preview of After Effects window (latest version) scrolls only a window when the value in a view of two windows, regardless of where the mouse is stationary.

I had many problems with After Effects since the latest two updates, and after a CC full uninstall/reinstall, things are running. HOWEVER, After Effects seems to have lost the ability to use the mouse wheel to zoom in on more than a preview window. I use 2 views - Horizontal mainly, and regardless of the settings, window size, or I use the mouse, After Effects will only zoom on the left of the window. No matter where I move the mouse cursor, it ONLY zooms in/out left most window. Is there a setting I'm missing? Some I clicked on the button or setting I accidentally disabled?

I use the Windows version of creative cloud.

This issue (scroll wheel in a single zoom of multi-view Composition the first view panel) is a bug in after effects CC 2015 (13.6). We have a difficulty currently test for this bug and hope to come out with our next update which is tentatively scheduled for a month from now. We apologize for the disruption.

Until the fix is available, shortcuts keyboard to zoom in (/ order and +/-) will try to zoom to the selected view.

  • Effects mask ok in the preview but ignored when creating file

APE10: I applied a black and white mask to a part of the image.  It works fine in the preview, but when I generate ("action"), as a .mpg file, the effect is ignored.

MPEGs are, unfortunately, a format that sometimes things do not place correctly on.

Try this: your video using computer/sharing/AVI with the wide output DV preset.

Open a new project, making sure to use the project settings for DV Wide. Add this new AVI to your timeline.

Your mask effect should then work correctly and your output should be perfect.

I tried matching the outline and background colors and the effect is much better, but not what is displayed in the preview. It lacks real flashes, precisely what that screened on the subject.

  • Reading of interlaced scaling BAD video in the preview of files 2015.3

Hello, working in first Pro 2015.3 blow us up the size of the video to any value, say 110% (to exclude boom to the shot or other).  While we make (in ALL preview format - they all have the same defect).  During playback, we get bands chunky of a coarse comb effect where fields are of course spread over a fast movement.  It looks like old fashioned gross low resolution scaling.  Here is a screenshot of instant pause the playback view, it shows part of the image at 100% is to say 1:1 pixel to the screen:

    Screen Shot 2016-07-06 at 13.14.35.png

Then, we step forward (or rear of a framework to get the view full resolution according to the natures/parked frame display.)  Then, the effect of coarse comb went and we see the software displaying a reasonable interpretation:

    Screen Shot 2016-07-06 at 13.14.48.png

See how the striping is much better.  That's what you'd naturally expect to see reading all the courses in your sequence of rendering, because you have A) full playback resolution and B) you have actually rendered images for preview files (even choose the preview format that actually matches camera codec) or even a format Prores422 HQ.

But now in 2015.3 in our normal workflow for many years, we can not be satisfied that our work is acceptable for broadcast because he plays today back this feverish comb coarse, crude effect.  So now we have to discount or ignore what we see and make a movie out and play this movie in reading software (Quicktime Player or MXF reader) just to see if it IS OK.  This means that any work of self-QC in first became useless.  This also means that we can make our work for customer insight and look with the first client.

    WHAT CAN WE DO?

NOTE, HOWEVER, if we don't make a preview of a file and so native playback (DALYS-100) with yellow bars on top, it's all THE FINE - no gross comb effect - that is, it is exactly the same as the frame step full resolution/render!

How can this be?  How can we better than quality render rendered Max reading UN-rendered file?

We have even exported and then imported a rendered movie file and same that reads with the same effect of coarse comb despite this new film now playing at the 100% level.  While any player left 3rd he plays well - that you expect it to be.

Some have reverted back to 2015.2 where it is is not a problem.

I think that one of our in-house editors found a work around for this bug. Try adding a layer of setting on the video that is resized. This seems to fix deinterlacing problems when scaling of images.

  • Audio mixing for the preview takes too long

Dear all people on the forum.

I had a problem with the video preview in after effects CC, for awhile. I find the problem that he had just "Audio Mixer to Preview". This process is very long compared to other processes during the preview rendering. When I disable the audio preview on the Preview Panel, the preview began almost instantly after the preview has been triggered. Audios are easier to deal with videos, it's taking boring too long. Also, I noticed that the more layers, the graphics and audio files are added to the file, the longer it takes for previewing start. Help, please!

There is probably nothing wrong. EI audio capabilities are severely limited and it doesn't all in time real mixture worth mentioning. It can only play a limited number of audio tracks in real time, and those who must match the settings of your audio driver, since that's what it is based on. All files that is not conform to the specifications as well as incompatible driver audio settings force resampling. Similarly, compressed as MP3 files, it will be decoded fully first and then mixed. Don't say things could not be better, but you should get used to. If you provide system information and more details about your project it may be possible to certain optimization...

  • After expects effects slow on preview during scrubbing and update files

    Hey there,

I'm totally new to After effects, so when I get a psd file for designers. The project takes a while to actually appear on the preview screen, if not appear it will take awhile to update the project files while I'm scouring. I'm animating the projects that are on the server, so it is through the network. I use After Effects cc 2015. Whenever I try to update to After Effects, the problem gets worse, suggestions to solve the problem would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Let me give you some basics on the use of still images in After Effects. First of all, many beginners use still images that are much too large for the work. Video's pixels and scale of any assets of pixel based must be at or near 100% in your project. I've seen many projects my students where they still used images that were never as 20% to 25% of the size of the comp. check your images. If they are more than twice the size of your publication, you are wasting time and long-term, not to get the highest quality. If you see more than 125% scale values, your images are too small. Unless you have the monster material and extremely fast fiber networks that do not expect to work on projects that are greater than 4 K, most of the projects must be 1920 X 1080 pixels unless you need to produce a 4 K content. Sized for your images.

If layers are 3D, so you cannot go a single scale. Go by the distance of the camera. When the distance between the camera and a 3D layer is equal to the value of zoom to the layer of that image is the equivalent of a scale of 100%. If the image fills the frame and 100% scale and you move camera backwards so that the image fill only 10% of the image, you can measure then layer 3D so that it fills the frame (1000%) and it will be still on a scale of 100% effective and you can work with it effectively.

Second, each image must be made was that whatever it is in After Effects is changed. It is a slow process. The right technique for working with any application of makeup is to work any previews our movement and composition at reduced resolution. I call these pencil tests. The best way to proceed is 50% the value of the magnification ratio, the first option at bottom left of the Panel composition, or if you are working with 4 K 25% and resolution, the option somewhere in the Middle, to the automobile. Work our your movement and composition and to test previews with these settings. When everything is as you only begin to add your effects, motion blur, and other items. If they look good at 50% magnification and auto (half) resolution, consult a few critical images to 100% (200% if you have a retina or other high-resolution display) to ensure that the information is correct. Now, send your project to render using a suitable delivery format and check the read in a media player in full resolution. You can judge that video when it moves at full resolution. No other controls or seen are 100% viable. You can surely preview more than a few seconds at full resolution and full screen in AE unless you have a monster and an extremely fast system. Even if you can, the motion may not be not identical to the file made final because of many factors.

Last point. AE is designed to create plans and short sequences. It is horrible to film editing. Never, it was designed for it. If your comps AE containing more than a sentence or two of audio or last more than a few seconds, you work inefficiently and changes to fine-tune the perfection project will be way to long. You must learn to work with gunfire to get what you want and then you must edit in Premiere Pro in your final movie. More than 90% of my AE projects are less than 10 seconds. 75% are probably 6 seconds or less. Only on rare occasions will create a model with more than one or two sentences of copy.

  • Try the Preview movie but otherwise

    Hello

Last year when I started using After Effects CC I could preview the entire sequence RAM, I was working on. But since Adobe took out the RAM Preview and it changed just an excerpt from I can get 8 seconds maximum.

Usually, I'm working on sequences that are around 5 to 30 seconds in length. For me, it is especially useful to be able to get an overview of the complete sequence to check through. I don't want to have to create a low resolution film just to be able to do.

Is there something that I am missing? Y at - there a setting somewhere that I holds?

    Thanks for any help!

The length of your preview depends on the available RAM and the size of the model and resolution of preview. I suggest that set you the zoom factor in the Panel composition to 50% and the composition to automotive screen resolution. If you need to run longer preview, and then set the Preview Panel to jump 1 framework and ensure that the resolution it is also on Auto.

You work with a compositing and motion graphics program not a NLE. Until the end of the recovery of the preview length of a rendering system will be controlled by the amount of available ram. If you see your photo at full resolution and frame rate, you will need to return to a delivery format that your system supports such as a MP4 h.264.

Personally, I rarely ever run a preview of the entire length of a sudden it's on about 4 or 5 seconds. My usual workflow is to do a "pencil test" of any animation before first effects or other things are added to the model which will slow things down. I then start to add effects and things like motion blur, lights, shadows and make adjustments to the critical frames in the shot. I carefully check some images in full resolution then will send the shot to the SOUL for the record and move to the next shooting. I try not to waste time waiting for makes or perceived because just as in the days when I was a shoot and had to wait so he could recover from the lab, I know what I'm going to get and this vision is accurate to 98% of the time without a preview full length full resolution of all shot. There are just convenient to get to this point.

  • Why can't I drag stuff around in the preview window?

Alrighty, so I'm transition from Premiere Pro 2.0 to the latest version with the creative cloud, and I'm having the time more difficult trying to find a function!  I * used * to be able to drag around the Visual elements in the preview window and position them as I am pleased!  But now I can't click and drag anything in the preview window.  Could someone explain this to me?  I can't find answers through the usually reliable Google search!
