  I don't know what version of Photoshop was used in the video. Maybe CS3 or 4? It seems that the video was created in 2008? Towards the end of the tutorial (on the last 1/4), it converts the effect bevel and Emboss in layers separated in order to remove the effect of the top and the sides of the picture. I can't seem to find the option 'Create layers', when I Ctrl + click on the layer. Is only the layers 'create' listed somewhere else or there at - it another way to remove the bevel and Emboss effects from the top and sides?

  It is the vector. I did not notice that he was bound.

  Click on the drawing. Choose the Selection tool (black needle, you have the map tool selected in the screenshot).

  Select it by clicking it once. On the context menu bar you should see the embed button.

  

  You can then access bazzillion of drawing parts.

  I am a little confused because I don't know what happened.

  I copy the country shapes from Illustrator file into AE layers - so they are transformed in masks (lots and lots of masks actually). I have the color specific countries I do this in blue (the color of the solid layer) and apply other effects - this is the reason why I do this. Happened well so far. For some reason, the American form will be not all appear in blue and the effects also apply to the sliver of Alaska.

  What happens here?

  I tried several times from scratch (i.e. make new solid layer, apply the shape, same problem).

  I think its like Alaska and the United States are separate masks so AE is cut to Alaska and then has nothing to cookie-cutter of the United States with. Double'm ' on the layer of US to bring up your masks and I think the mask of Alaska will say "Subtract" menu drop-down available, you need to change the other mask (US) in "intersection" downstairs. If not, try "Add..."

• effect of contour of the shape layer

  Hi, I'm applying an edge effect to a layer I imported from Illustrator.

  I created vector layer with the layer (so it appears as "outlines") and can apply STROKE if I go to 'Add' in the timeline, but not if I apply via 'generate' it does not appear and also impossible to apply effects. I can change the specifications, the width of the line IE, but nothing appears on the screen.

  Doodle works and stroke on the footsteps of mask, not on the shape layer paths. If you want just for just these types of effects mask path, so you don't have to use "Create forms of vector layer" and instead of this just leave the layer being and copy - paste the path like I showed you before. Another way to do it, if you have already converted to shape and stay in shape too, is to copy the path of the path parameter of shape for the mask path setting (you can simply create a dummy mask so you where to copy)

  

  BTW shape layers have also a few very powerful path here operations: wiggle path can create the very nice and organic Scribble to your contours. but it is not the same as the Freehand drawing.

  I think that an adjustment layer will do what you're after.

  You might also consider precomposition layers and applying the effect to the precomposition layer.

  Try to select all the layers you want to copy in the layers palette. Then hold down the SHIFT key and drag the layers in the layers palette and drop them on the other open document. The SHIFT key should cause the fall is centered on the canvas.

  Sometimes, you can use push the limits, other times, you need to first dial your layer and apply the effect to the demo.

  Photoshop lighting effect filter does not work. A new layer called just the effects of light appears, why?

  Under help > system info, copy and paste the first two lines identifying the exact version of your OS and Photoshop.

  In Photoshop, the command is the menu Filter > render > lighting effects

  Don't use "Last filter" or it runs the command without bring to the top of the dialog box.

  Who would offer a way of knowing whether a layer is selected.

  As far as I know that is the only round about way to know if a layer is selected via the script.

• Effect of inner shadow and layers in PSE 9

  Hello

  I was wondering if someone could help me.

  PES 9, I opened a photo > selected it > create a new layer and apply an inner shadow without problem.  However, when I selected the TEXT tool and wrote a text on a new layer above the photo and dropped a shadow or bevel on the text, the text appears blurred and the shadow effect is not look right.  I tried the same effects on the text wihtout adding an inner shadow in the photo below and the text was beautiful. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?

  You use the buttons in the content palette? If so try to click on the layer to layer Style

  Then check shadow or one of the other boxes and play with the sliders.
