  I have a problem that lasts for 3 years, on both machines (a Mavericks and now El Capitan).

  Sometimes Apple Mail smtp server sends a message when I'm home, sometimes not. Sometimes, I've updated the smtp settings to add a server and change some thing, then Mail wouldn't send when I'm at work.

  I asked CE Office at work, they do not know what is happening and gave me what should be the right settings.

  I'm about two seconds of dumping Apple Mail for good, if I can find another application that's all good.

  Why I don't receive HTML messages in Apple Mail (9.2)? Using the latest version of El Capitan (10.11.3). I do sometimes, but more and more I'm not. This is the case on my MacBook Air and Mac. The two relatively new.

  I have this same problem. Sometimes the message will look good on a computer and not the other. In addition, I use gmail. I can send google mail messages and then they will be displayed correctly on the computer on which the original message was not. Seems to be a problem with how Mail handles the message when it comes to the, but in a random way.

  Hope we can get an answer to this problem.

  Mac Book 2012, SSD 256, 8 GB Ram Just reloaded El Capitan 10,11,2 on SSD, naked

  SSDS are erased and reinstalled 10,11,2 to see if this would help... it didn't.

  Problem started with Yosemite and continues in El Capitan.  System I cannot add my hotmail for Apple Mail, Outlook or Thunderbird account!

  System is "Unable to verify the account name or password" only on accounts Hotmail/outlook! All my other 5 accounts are added without problem! 

  I tried shortening hotmail password and renewed by password Microsoft 5 times in the last 24 hours, with no result!

  Help, please.  I've deliberately not migrated by user settings of my recorded image of the SSD drive before the clear operation just so I would not import corruption.

  What is a corrupted installation of 10.11.2?  If something is poisoned in my keychain?  Is this a known problem in OSX 10,11,2?  I am at my wits end because I love Apple Mail structure and have used for the last 5 years; all my files are organised in it, I want TO use it; but the system simply does not permit a connection to hotmail.

  I had this same problem on my iMac since the installation of El Capitan.  Never had a problem before this date.  I finally got Hotmail to synchronize, changed the process except mail leaves and fresh to add a Hotmail account.  It took several attempts, so no idea why it worked finally.  Now it syncs automatically not when I run Mac mail, but I can choose manually sync by right click on my hotmail account in Mac mail and it syncs correctly most of the time.  If it's not I pulled out and restart Mac mail then sync again manually.  Not an indoor pleasure, but it works.  I have no problem using hotmail on my windows PC.  After manual synchronization, I sometimes get an error when you try to delete or move a mail electronic hotmail to another folder.  I just wait until the next time I quit mail and restart to try again.  Something is certainly wrong somewhere.  Same problem with Thunderbird, but will have to re-enter the password manually to synchronize, memory of password never works, so it is not limited to Mac Mail, but is a Mac related issue.

  I've never seen anything like this and it couldn't come at a worse time for my company that relies very heavily on e-mail and communication.

  Apple Mail is completely haywire and if not e-mail online accommodation that saves my *... I would be completely destroyed.

  Literally... from minute to minute... emails in my Inbox poster display and then disappear.  A second, I have the newest of new emails... a minute later... I see 6 months, 3 months, etc., as the most recent emails in the Inbox.  That was just... is no longer?

  It non stop (indexing)? ... "Download Messages" - 1022 messages... 14000 of... 748 of the... Lol... case in point... I just took a peek now... and the most recent email in my Inbox is from may, 2015.

  For the last year and... I had to leave Apple Email in order to get new e-mail messages.  My main problem is Go Daddy email using IMAP.  (Which is my main email of company)

  I don't know what to say... it's a little dramatic... but APPLE: CRITICISM of this tool in modern life and business is * my company.  HOW CAN YOU THINK ABOUT BUILDING A car...   I have a new e-mail account to a student who fails authentication always when I try to add to my Apple Mail on my Mac. I have the current OS of El Capitan. I talked to technical support at school, and he said he has never been able to get this working, apparently due to some problem with 2-factor of Apple. The account sets fine on my iOS devices, and although it is an address wgu.edu, it's actually a Google account.

  Someone at - it knowledge or suggestions on this subject?

• Apple Mail 9.3 (3124) slow to move, delete or send messages

  Hello, I would like to know if anyone can help please?

  I use El Capitan 10.11.5 with Apple Mail 9.3 and feel the slowness in the mail application when moving, deleting or sending a message. I have that on behalf of a configured email which is an iCloud account.

  For example, if I delete 10 emails in my Inbox there is a progress at the bottom of the left pane bar say moving message 1 to 10 and it could take as much as 5 minutes to complete. Meanwhile, although emails are moved from the Inbox, if I click in the trash emails aren't there and by clicking New in the box receipt displays the ten new emails. They remove afterwards, but it takes a long time.

  Email is the same. Once I click on send, e-mail is displayed in the Outbox but is sometimes as long as five minutes. The funny thing is that I get the test email on my other device almost immediately so email quickly leaves the mac, but seems to be getting hung up in the messaging application.

  That's what I've tried so far: a new installation on a clean formatted drive to El Capitan followed a restore time machine of my data, programs and settings. I tried to remove bin records to sand e-mail: ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail and ~ / Library/Containers/com.apple.MailServiceAgent. I deleted these files one at a time and disconnected and turn it back on after that every one but did not see any performance increase. I tried logging in iCloud, completely closing and restarting, then signing in iCloud but had no luck.

  May I ask, someone else see this behavior before or have any advice or fixes please?

  Just for the record, I use an iMac 27 "mid-2010 i3 16GB.
