El Capitan 10.11.5 lost my "recently deleted" folder in the pictures.

I've updated the week last of Yosemite.

Today, when I went to remove photos from my library (to create a space), but there was no "recently deleted the file" in the file menu. It is completely absent. It is worrisome for two reasons, one because I could accidentally delete a picture and not being able to easily restore to their original and two record because I won't be able to create more space by deleting old photos.

Is this a known bug? Does anyone else have this missing feature on their software recently updated? More importantly, did someone know how I can easily resolve this issue? I'm afraid to say I have not used the time machine.

The record shows that when it deleted the photos inside. After 30 days, the photos are deleted automatically. Once the folder is empty, it will disappear.

And also, the folder is no longer in the menu. It now appears in the list of albums.

I looked in all folders.  I have now switched off Notes for all accounts where it had been activated (no Notes existed in these accounts).  On my Mac, on the navigation on the left of the application Notes (files), I: Notes from iCloud, on my Mac and my Notes to gmail.  On my iPhone, the list of files just a pointed iCloud and on my Notes from the iPhone.

Update: I have just disabled my gmail account note on my Mac so that both (phone and laptops) Notes apps list the same folders... for only iCloud + on my Mac / On my iPhone.

  • Win7 Explorer "Recent places" folder: reduce the number of places/recent folders

In the Favorites folder in Explorer which is at the top left of explore, there is a "Recent places" folder (I've renamed 'Recently used files'). (I speak not of anything in the start menu).

This places recent record is very useful to get the last file I used. But I rarely use it for more than the record from two or three max 5. There are currently 30 files in this virtual folder and it takes me a while to look through them (especially maybe because I'm old, or there is a lot of files with similar names and Japanese).

Does anyone know where the entrance of memory is so that I can reduce to 5 maximum?

I looked at every instance of recent, the places and MRU

Maybe I should go through the WHO registry looking for '30 '.

I was just exploring what the other day (I also noticed that you can check the "recent files" separately from all the "recent items" which includes individual files, so I added a shortcut to each view to my favorites in Explorer, as shown below).  But the best I could find was to sort by "most recent" on the top, which I could see only the most recent.

Actually even better than just sorting, you can group.  Then you can see ' this folder has I used yesterday? Pretty neat, but still not exactly what you are looking for:

  • recently deleted iPhotos after El Capitan

Hi everyone I have a small question. I'm a bit confused. I still have my photos in my "Photos" folder I never use iPhoto. After I download El Capitan, I saw in iPhotos that there is this section "recently deleted". In this section, it is full of all my pictures and videos, but that's all my photos and videos are always in the folders of Photos and original videos, but they are also in the recently deleted. Is that what I should be worried or are all my files in the original folders going to be beautiful?

    Hello michypz,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

If I understand your message, you are concerned about your photos and videos that appear in a recently deleted folder.  Is - this folder in the Photos app or iPhotos?  Recently deleted folder displays items that have been selected manually to remove it from your library.  Your Photos or iPhoto library stores the videos and photos in their library files themselves, so the photos and videos you have stored separately on your Mac should not be affected.  To learn more about the recently deleted in iPhoto album, I suggest you only look at this article:

iPhoto: delete the photos and video

    Take care.

  • Accidentally, I deleted the Recycle Bin recently deleted, how do I get that back in the toolbar

    Hello

Accidentally, I deleted the Recycle Bin recently deleted, do you know how to get it in the toolbar?

Do you mean the "recently deleted" album in the Photos?  In the Photos on El Capitan it will automatically appear in the sidebar for you, if it contains pictures.

in the Yosemite pictures reveal-l don' t remember if the command 'Show recently deleted' is in the file menu or the menu display of Photos on Yosemite.

  • Why all my notes on my iPhone disappear except recently deleted a?

I've had about 10 under LOCAL or ICLOUD Notes on my iPhone more 6 and I had recently removed a. However, when I check my SCORE today, each of them has disappeared except the one I deleted recently. WHA t happens? I don't have any update system recently. How can I get them back. I accidentally deleted them recently, I think that they would stay for a while until this that continuous deleted.

    Hi nicolace,.

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple! I'm sorry to hear that you have had this problem with your Notes. I'm a little unclear on what can happen, but if you have used the iCloud Notes updated version, you can see if the notes can be recovered/restored as shown below:

    Notes to recover recently deleted

If you use the Update Notes , you can retrieve and modify notes iCloud you removed during the last 30 days on iCloud.com or your devices with iOS 9 or later or OS X v10.11 or later that are connected to the same account iCloud. However, you can retrieve notes you permanently deleted (as described in "Notes of Remove deleted immediately using the application update Notes," below).

    1. Go to Notes on iCloud.com, then recently deleted, click on the left.

If you don't see recently deleted in the list of folders on the left, you have not all recoverable notes.

If you do not see a list of folders to the left of the list of notes, you use the original Notes and can not recover the deleted notes. See "Delete a note by using the original Notes application," above.

    2. Click on a note on the right, then click on back in the top of the window. The note moves to the Notes folder.

To recover directly in one folder other than Notes, drag a note of the folder recently removed to another folder.

  • Album "Recently deleted" disappeared... Help please!

Hi, my "recently deleted" folder just disappeared from my sidebar in photos. I had just deleted a large number of photos and I wanted to delete them permanently, but when I clicked on return was not in the sidebar, where it had been when I did the same thing five minutes ago? Baffled... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated to try to free up space on my boot drive! Thank you

This album is displayed only when you delete a photo.  If you go to this album and complete the removal, that the album will disappear from the sidebar.

  • How to restore a recently deleted on my iphone6s note

I accidentally deleted a NOTE on my iPhone6s. I need to get back to normal. How can I do?

If you are running the latest version of iOS and the Notes app, you should be able to navigate to the top-level folder view where there will be a "recently deleted" folder to recover the deleted note. You can also try logging on to the site iCloud.com, load the Notes application and even once looking for the deleted file recently.

  • Drag files from a folder on the docking station to a folder in the finder (El Capitan)

We have recently improved Mavericks in El Capitan at work and I noticed some lost (apparently) features. Is no longer, I can click on my downloads on my dock folder and drag a file into a folder in the Finder. When I try to do it now, nothing happens, regardless of the file type.

It is a small annoyance, but it was very convenient I wanted to download a file and do not have to navigate to the folder that is specific to each time. I often deal with lots of images and files on a single task, so it's much faster to send them all to my downloads and grab them off the Dock since she ordered chronologically downloads it.

Someone has the same problem and have a solution?

What happens if you try to drag the file in the downloads folder in your user/Home folder?
