• OSX stuck somewhere between Yosemite & El Capitan

  So, I tried to upgrade to El Capitan and my iMac has hung up, had to close.  Gets blocked early in the process and crashes, read many posts on this.

  Off, I could not boot normally, because it would not see the operating system and try to install El Capitan with the same result of hanging.

  Could not start in safe mode - hangs "checking catalog file. Boot into recovery mode to try reinstalling OS x, and it is trying to reinstall El Capitan.  Tried disk utility first aid for Macintosh HD in recovery mode, and it also hangs "checking catalog hierarchy.

  I tried several times normal boots until he actually started - system shows it running Yosemite.  The system is slow and problems.  Ran check and repair, disk fixed disk permissions.

  I want to get the system works better, then I'll just try to simply re - install Yosemite at this stage.  Remember, I can't make recovery because recovery think I El Capitan.

  The final copy is lower quality and way too bright. Noticibly too bright. Own obscurities turn into rough gray, and the quality is noticibly smaller as well. I checked the "use maximum render quality" and I tried to exportiing in AVI and MP4, and nothing is set. Any ideas?

  First, what type of file do you need?  If you are looking for the lossless quality then I suggest to export a file with Animation codec quicktime or some other lossless codec.  However, these types of files are huge and that they could not read on your desktop.  But if you go just to put this video on the internet, when you're finished with it then I would suggest starting with one of the Youtube or Vimeo H.264 presets and modify it to match your clip.  It is still not as good as the original, but you can't expect miracles when you work in SD and in exporting to H.264 format, which is a codec very first.  If you want to try to export Quicktime or AVI without loss, and then change the settings so that they get something like this:

  I have connected the screen to my mbp with the mini display / port cable supplied with the display screen. It works well, but I don't have quality of retina at all (the images seems good but the text is terrible)

  The text have a bad record as a retina screen, and it makes a big difference when I spend my retina display to the external display which is not comfortable at all.

  I though that this kind of screen was OK to view the retina... but I was wrong. I try to connect with minidisplay / display and HDMI! HDMI made was worse than minidisplay. The res in the system report show was good 2 560 x 1 440. I even try the hack to force with the patch, but always bad RGB render text...

  More important, I want to, it's having the same record as retina on the text and images. What external display can be good for this?

  The size in pixels of the screen is not mean much: a small display to 2560 x 1440 pixels seems much sharper than a widescreen 2560 x 1440 pixels.

  Your retina Macbook has something like 220 dpi (DPI in English), the Dell screen only 117. If you want the same sharpness, you will need to choose a display with 220 dpi. But then, everything on the screen will look much smaller. Here is a tool that allows you to get the idea: http://dpi.lv/
