Eloqua Web Tracking

Hello

I'm trying to follow a web page, be followed Drupal. The scripts have been properly downloaded and tests, Eloqua has also been a success. But when we try to check if the visits are actually followed, then it does not return a value any. For example when we have generated a report, it is no statistics of visits, also when we ran a filter, no contacts who have visited the page for test purposes, came in the filter.

The Read-me file in Eloqua said that scripts should be included in the body of the page, but this page would accept no scripts, then after talking to some people of Drupal, which suggested that scripts should be placed in the header and the files in the elqNow folder should be placed directly in the directory root, we tried this approach and then the scripts can be downloaded with success, also, they have passed the test in eloqua. But the race is not yet functional.

Someone you suggest, what can be done, or what could possibly be wrong with this approach.

Thank you

Monpetit

Hey djo.

Read this article on the tests of your visitors followed by scripts

https://support.Eloqua.com/view.jsp?id=3df8f1868451c350--25ea98af-1200f9d26c5--7c96&fromProcRevs=8a7e8d4c2003c998012038b4c5b30576

Use the 'Net' Panel in firebug to make sure your scripts work that there is no 404 errors.

Also check here for drupal modules

Hope this helps, if you post a link to one of your pages, I could also see if there are problems in the code?

See you soon

  • Data for the Eloqua Web search is secure

I recently put up a newspaper in the system using a form and functionality of Web of Eloqua database search.

From the point of view of users, it worked perfectly by only to redirect users to a page/hypersite if they correspond to their user name (email address) with a password (sent to them by DM).

My question is, how secure is the Web database search for similar implementation and are there underlying technical problems I should be aware of?

While the platform Eloqua itself is secure (including data search), its course in the fact that someone cannot access your data without authorization. However, because all data is stored in plain text in Eloqua, we absolutely do not recommend using it for something as password storage. Depending on where your company is located you can actually break the law by storing the password in plain text data. Therefore, while your data is safe, your password storage space is not, and anyone who has access to your instance Eloqua also has access to these thousands of usernames and passwords, many quite possibly shared with other sites outside your own.

Bottom line, you should never store any data that must be encrypted in Eloqua, because we don't offer any type of data outside of text unencrypted storage.

  • Anyone used Eloqua to track incoming automated sales calls?

We tried the sfdc campaigns, but our sales behavior is not 'clean' so I hope that there is a way to do this way automated with eloqua. someone had this problem and a bit of luck solve? Thank you!

Jascha - I thought about this a bit more. Select a Source of lead in the "incoming call" by chance in the SFDC sales contact or lead to registration? One idea is to feed all the contacts in a program in eloqua with this source of lead and assign to this contact a SFDC campaign code and then send the contact through CRM Eloqua/SFDC integration program.

  • Collection of payment using Eloqua forms?

We must arrive at a solution of payment for a work of research within 4 weeks. (Our requirements are that it has) hook on our bank account b) have password protection.

Everyone done this before we can use an example? We are desperado and love to hear your experiences + current examples.

    Hi Jennifer,.

Although I don't have any direct url for you right away, I have worked with the creation of workflow based on web using marketing for collection of payment automation / credit treatment several times. We used Authorize.net and Paypal in the past among others.

From your post, it seems that the best approach might be,

    • Create a custom outside Eloqua web form to collect and process the payment. This can be done using various technologies, php, .NET, java etc.
    • After the payment has been processed successfully, this external form should submit non-financial information to your server Eloqua using server-side http post.

In a post aside, the server made before treatment he reposts back to Eloqua. In your example, the form of implementation in custom web technologies such as php or asp .NET etc collects other confidential information or credit card information, collect payment, and then validate the non financial data to Eloqua.

You can just create custom Web pages to collect information of credit card and of payment etc. and choose not to publish information about Eloqua but you might miss out on opportunities such as:

    • The depositing of custom form are not cookied by Eloqua. I'm sure you want to keep track of these people and their future interactions and behavior online.
    • You will lose when our culture titles of people by car to these forms as a call to action campaign tracking
    • You cannot perform the additional steps of workflow in Eloqua after submission since it is not a form of Eloqua.

The solution is usually to do a post server side using cURL (if you are using php).

    The typical steps are,

Create a form in Eloqua corresponding to your external form "payment".

Add fields hidden for ID ElqCampaign

Use the syntax of cURL to leave the code php on your webserver to validate sending the form to Eloqua via http and the sender process cookie.

On the other hand, you might want to consider CVENT app. I think that there is a Paypal application in also works at Eloqua.

  • Need to import Solution for adding/updating external CRM (no Salesforce) given in Eloqua Contacts including the definition of groups/e-mail preferences

We have a system of CRM of Blackbaud (a leading global provider for non-profits CRM) called the Raiser's Edge.  We want to automate nightly adding/updating of coordinates corresponding to the email address in contacts Eloqua records.  For example, we in the raiser's edge fields like "Member status", which has an "A" for assets, 'L' for out of date, or a "D" for fall.  We also have a field as "Membership Type", who can say 'Reguiler year 1' or 'Discount group membership 2 year' or 'Life member', etc...  We want to create custom fields corresponding to the Eloqua Contact folder to the same email address so that we can use this data to create segments in Eloqua.  What are my options to automate this process on a job every night to add/update the Eloqua Contact records?  We also want to automate in Eloqua that when the custom field, we create a file of Contact called Eloqua "Member status" passes any value to an "A" for assets, that you subscribe to the email address to send two groups/preferences, called "Generation Joshua" and "XBrents Email Group" (see below).  Note: When a constituent purchases a membership, they must agree to be added to those groups/preferences of two emails with instructions they can unsubscribe to one or the other or both at any time by accessing our Web site (using the subscription Eloqua, Web page management).  All options on how we can auto, this process, too?  I have on my team of software developers .NET who worked with API many other providers in the past.

    Thank you

    Bill

    Hi Bill,

You can use the REST API in bulk to load your contacts into Eloqua. We have a post on the topic: How to download Contacts from a list and an example project in c# available on Github. (Canvas or program Builder) workflow engine to manage triggers you want depending on the value in a custom field. Workflow decisions can evaluate the data in any field and move or update members of the program accordingly.

The REST API documentation of bulk (Beta) is available here: Eloqua API Documentation

Note that you must be logged in your Eloqua install in order to access the documentation.

Hope this helps and please let me know if you need more information.

  • Can I evaluate and fill out a form with data from a custom data object?

I'm not a developer, but I'm trying to find as much information for my web team so they can implement this for me.  We use the E10.

I have some information for the contacts stored in a data object custom I want to use for pre-population information access door and in another form.  For example:

    1. User enters his email address into a form and hands
    2. A search and contact and custom data object (CDO)
      1. If the contact has a CDO with the required information, he fills the following form with the information
      2. If the contact does not have the required ORDER, it displays information and a link to the place where to go next

Is it possible, and where should I direct my developers learn more about treatments?

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

You can certainly do so using data for the Eloqua Web search (Setup > data Web Look Ups). A database search allows you to request data stored in Eloqua, bring up the page and with a few JS, we determine if they will go on track 1 or 2 you described above.

Is that an advanced feature requires knowledge of HTML and JS. Here is a good article on data search that should help:

Using the Eloqua Cookie to customize your Web site

If you have any specific questions, our support team is very familiar with this feature and can help to solve problems or answer specific questions.

  • GIF animated signature mail (mac vs PC)

I made a signature with an animated gif. It works fine in mac to mac. But the PC can't see it. I actually put the gif online and linked to it in my email signature, so that could be the problem. But the advantage of this is that the mail does not seem to have an attachment. I'd love to make it work on the PC too. Any suggestions?

    (El Capitan, Apple Mail)

How email is displayed depends on how the recipient has configured his email client. If you send me the email containing the gif animated in the signature I would not see it no more. Several mail users configure their e-mail client to not display images, because images can contain a web tracking bugs/tags.

  • WSA URL whitelist

    Hello

I would like to know how some whitelist URLS without allowing that their categories in the access policy.

For example: in my access strategy under the url category custom, I leave www.wptfb.com url, but the site can only be accessed if certain categories is allowed. In my case I wanted to only see www.wptfb.com and at the same time to block all categories. Please notify. Thank you.

    Kind regards

    Vijayan stoecklin

Hi Vijayan, if the web page you are trying to whitelist includes object from other web sites you add these sites to filter custom URLS also when some of the included web sites are blocked by the predefined filters.

The wptfb.com of the page also load the content of these web sites:
    http://frog.wix.com/
    http://premium.wix.com/
    http://static.wixstatic.com/
    http://frog.wix.com/Plebs
    http://www.wix.com/
    http://static.wixstatic.com/Media
    http://storage.googleapis.com
    http://assets.wix.com/
    http://Editor.wix.com/HTML
    https://users.wix.com
    http://static.parastorage.com/

So if any of the categories for these websites is blocked with predefined URL categories you add the address of the web site URL filtering also.

Or you can allow predefined set category that you did.

Use Reporting > Web Tracking for fine adjustment.

  • Progressive profiling on website of the company using the cloud connector

We would like to start building a progressive profiling on our companies website and I wanted to see if its possible for us to use a form created in Eloqua using progressive profiling cloud connector to do this? I'm not sure if this feature works when you put a form on the Web site of our society rather than using a landing in Eloqua page.

Did anyone else with progressive profiling their companies outside Eloqua Web site? If so, how it was handled?

  • PHP 5.3 cloud connector

I am currently building a sign in application of Cloud based (prototype for now) for Eloqua in PHP 5.3.

I was able to set a configuration page and see that the StepID, etc. have been properly transferred.

And then as the next step, I wanted to get the list of Contacts of the current step in the program generator by using Web Services. That is to say. "ListMembersInStepByStatus" of https://secure.eloqua.com/api/1.2/ExternalActionService.svc?wsdl

Try actually based on the blog post at: http://www.codeevolution.com.au/code/2011/03/build-an-eloqua-cloud-connector-in-php/

Now, I am able to access the many other web services with PHP - using PHP 5.4 built-in SOAP extension or library NuSOAP.

Unfortunately, I am never able to connect to any of the Services of the Eloqua Web from PHP. Could you help me with this?

    I also tried the SDK-PHP-Eloqua http://code.google.com/p/eloqua-php-sdk !

When I tried on the example of: http://www.codeevolution.com.au/code/2011/03/build-an-eloqua-cloud-connector-in-php/ , I'm getting errors as shown in the attached HTML page.

Unfortunately I can't spend any more without the ability to communicate with Web Services.

If this can be of any assistance my investigation, I think it's one of these IIS - HTTP errors, because most of the time I'm interested in something like:

    HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request

    Hello

My name is Warren and I wrote the blog on PHP cloud connectors. One thing on which I'm not pointing was that I had to adjust the nusoap.php in NuSoap library as the encoding has been used always caused DEMAND INCORRECTE.

To test your calls on the best program to use is soapUI. It will allow you to test XML calls to make sure that you have correctly configured your PHP. In the example below, I've added your xml in soap UI, adjusted to the encoding of what I have in my file of nusoap and it worked (see below).

I have included my entire library of NuSoap here.

    http://www.codeevolution.com.au/sample/lib.zip

Although I have only updated the nusoap.php file. I have also updated by blog to take account of what we discussed here.

    Good luck.

  • storage settings back to zero

My flash drive for storage keep returning to zero

Yes, that's intentional.  We respect the feature remove Cookies from your browser and also clear Flash local stored objects.  Because we store information about sites on a per-domain basis, preference files are effectively fleeing know where you've been, so they have to go.

In my opinion, all of these things is not relevant at this stage.  Tracking technology is happening aside the client and the server and controlling the LSO for privacy is not buy you much and at a time when 1 TB HDDs are stupid cheap disk storage controls and their increases are (10K, 100K, unlimited!).

All these things were designed before the private browsing session / Incognito Modes were available in the major browsers.  Now you can simply activate those, allow sites Web store anything they want without degrading your user experience, and when you leave the private browsing mode, all this information is blown away (it has been stored in a temporary location when in private browsing mode).  He still isn't a perfect privacy either solution, but it mitigates all vectors (of which there are many), as well as the Flash stored local objects of monitoring the HTML5.

    There is a context here:

Stealth Web tracking tools pose growing risks of privacy to users | Computerworld

Anyway, these dialog boxes are not good.  We are well aware of the problem, but there are some intractable problems unique to a process that is hosted within a browser which makes it difficult to distinguish the clicks are 'real' or if dialog boxes or are hidden (see: Clickjacking - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).  They are tiny, because they date back to a time when VGA was a relevant display size.  This is an issue that is definitely on our radar, and more important because they are very small displays with more than 4K resolution.

The ideal solution is to move many of these dialog boxes in the browser chrome (and you will see that on the dialogs such as access camera/microphone in Chrome), when the browser has an authoritarian vision of user input and is always on it later from the screen, but that requires buy-in effort and the genius of each single browser provider It's so slow to travel lane.  The rest of them we must reconsider and rethink and these are ongoing discussions within the team.

In the short term, the best method to deal with these is to avoid, like private browsing mode really doesn't do the majority of the related concerns moot, and others (such as the LSO disk consumption) are pretty trivial.

I wonder if: when I go Incognito, is it possible that someone can keep track of Web sites and pages that I enter?

    Hi master,
The answer to your question is Yes and no.

None: No one can keep track of your history on the side of your computer.
Yes: Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) can keep track of your history.

Anyway that you do not have to worry about anyone using your computer accessing these data.
