• Outlook Express main identity and Comcast email server

  I use Outlook Express (Internet Explorer 8) in Windows XP Pro.  A year and half ago my main identity ceased to be able to access the new emails through my Comcast email server account, but my other two (not main) identities Comcast can download all of their new emails.  I just get a message "unknown error", said that the main identity account cannot access the server.  PS. I can send emails, but I can't receive them.  I tried to look at all the POP and SMTP elements and they do not seem to be wrong Comcast took me through several steps but said the probel in my OExpress program and they were no help at all after that.  Any ideas?  Thank you.

  Tip: Create an identity third to replace the main identity. Import messages and address book and if it works well, remove the main identity.

  Make sure that the SMTP port is set to 587 and my server requires authentication is enabled. (Many Comcast Tech don't even know it).

• Set up email server and data in the office

  Hello, someone asked me how to install and manage a server in their office that will serve as Maintanence/Backup e-mail. They use mainly E-mail squirrel or other services of Roundcube web-based. Exactly what needs to be placed in their office to start and manage their emails on their own. What are the steps involved and the estimated costs. Any idea?

  It would be wise to consult a consultant qualified COMPUTER.

  If the office wants to host your own Email Server they would need in a domain, a static IP address and an appropriate server, for example Windows Server with Microsoft Exchange or a Linux server.   (Contribs.org SME Server is a good option).    Many wonder should be addressed including the volume of mail remote access needs involved, security, etc.  They would also need a technician qualified to install and configure the server and the software.

  Another option to consider is 3rd party Email hosting, especially if they have no COMPUTER staff and do not want to have a consultant on call.  For example - http://www.rackspace.com/email-hosting

  I changed my mail host for my main account Windows RT. Now, I can't get my email. How can I change the email server info? I can't find this info anywhere.

  Try this:

  1. Open the Mail application.

  2. Enter in the right edge of the screen, and then tap Settings.

  3. Press or click accounts.

  4. Tap the account you want to change.

  5. Change your settings.

  When I read e-mails and delete them Thunderbird deletes the e-mail messages from the original server. Another user also reads emails, so I need to leave them on the origin server so she could be able to read also.

  Sounds like the last, and which is normal with IMAP.

  I spent over 5 hours in computer shares with AVG. They said your server messed up my email account. I can access my email account, but the line that reads "delete, move, not spam, more' loads ever... so I can't delete the email or anything else. My email account is to verizon yahoo.   To test how Firefox works no 'custom' on your system, could you experience in two minutes?

  Create a new Firefox profile

  Out of Firefox and start in profile to help Manager start > run:

  Do not delete anything here.

  Any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.

  Click on the button to create a profile, assign a name like TEST and skip the option to choose a different folder location. Then launch Firefox in the new profile that you have created.

  Yahoo does not improve in the new profile?

  When you return to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the button Delete a profile on TEST. It's a little too easy to accidentally delete your 'real' profile, so I recommend you to resist the temptation. If you don't want to clean up later, I suggest to make a backup of all your profiles first in case something go wrong.

• Photosmart 5520: Scan to email: server connection error 403 (with app and scan)

  I scanned to send several times than I can count, but a few days ago, I get nothing other than the error "connection server 403 error." I checked the forums and someone said to go into apps and download the application. It did not work. I rebooted and tried everything, which he expects. Yet, nothing. Is this error to do with something outside as the real servers HPs - or is this something internal that I can fix it? I went as far as I can without resetting to factory settings (which I am fearful because I recently had the country code has changed on this issue and do not want to return to the country of origin), someone has any suggestions other than what I've sifted through the forums already?

  I understand that you have some problems with the scan to E-mail on your Photosmart 5520. I can help with that.

  We can try I couldn't see you is to remove and enable web services. To do:

  1. On the printer, click web services icon that looks like a tablet with a phone beside her.
  2. Click settings.
  3. Click on delete Web Services.
  4. Click again on the Web Services.
  5. Click on accept and Yes.
  6. Try scanning to Email.

  I would like to know if it works. If it does please not then let me know and we can try something else. Even if it solves your problems, so please let other users of the forum know clicking on accept as Solution below my post.

  I can receive e-mails very well, and it started just a week ago. I use Vista and Windows Mail.  Nothing has been added or changed before making these errors.  I use this program for several years with no problems, now has just begun.  Don't know if it will work through the net, because I never knew what are the passwords to my email, so only get and send mail from home computer.  I tried all of the suggestions I've read, but nothing seems to work.

  You have the wrong settings of SMTP (sending). The correct port number is 587 and SSL should * not * be checked. For more information, contact Comcast tech support who will guide you through setting up your email. They can also change your password (and will tell you where to enter in Windows Mail) because you need to know what this password at one point. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

• NAC Notification comments Email Server problem

  Once I have create a guest account on the comment of the NAC server, he is unable to send e-mail notifications to the guest user. I get the following error.

  What version of NGS do you use?

  Your sponsor has permissions to send mails?

  What newspapers do you see on the mail server / SMTP relay?

  You can also view the logs under the Admin GUI to: Server > System Logs

  There, you can check what is the relationship to the 'application log' and also ' support newspapers > maillog.

• How can you setup thunderbird to clear the messeges in the email server inbox once you have downloaded.

  It does not turn on (check box) clean inbox at the exit.

  This is because IMAP is server-based. Show you only messages remotely from your computer or your phone. The messages are on the server.

  You can move messages to a folder under local folders on your computer and then delete them from the server.

• Photosmart 7520: Scan to email - server connection error

  Apologies for another post on this subject, I worked my way through the various fixes but none have worked.

  Scan to e-mail worked very well - we use it quite regularly. Then, about 3 or 4 weeks, we got our first message "error server connection." I'm not aware of nothing to bud in our home network, where we use the printer.

  A moden is connected to an Airport Extreme (82.1.132.1, DNS 194.168.4.100 IP / 194.168.8.100). The printer is connected wireless. We can print and I see that the printer is registered on the network.

  I tried:

  1 Manual IP and DNS: IP 10.0.1.249, DNS 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4

  2. as stated above, but DNS changed to 194.168.4.100 / 194.168.8.100 - the same as AirPort Extreme

  3. automatic IP (10.0.1.7) but manual DNS (both variants above).

  After each change, I stop, wait and restart the printer.

• The email server info

  I'm using Windows Vista and I am trying to configure my Windows Mail account.  MSN is my internet service provider, but of course, Windows Mail won't accept this.  I had a gmail address thinking that would solve the problem, but now he wants the incoming and outgoing server names.  How can I find that?  Thanks for any help you can give me.
