Outlook Express main identity and Comcast email server

I use Outlook Express (Internet Explorer 8) in Windows XP Pro.  A year and half ago my main identity ceased to be able to access the new emails through my Comcast email server account, but my other two (not main) identities Comcast can download all of their new emails.  I just get a message "unknown error", said that the main identity account cannot access the server.  PS. I can send emails, but I can't receive them.  I tried to look at all the POP and SMTP elements and they do not seem to be wrong Comcast took me through several steps but said the probel in my OExpress program and they were no help at all after that.  Any ideas?  Thank you.

Tip: Create an identity third to replace the main identity. Import messages and address book and if it works well, remove the main identity.

Make sure that the SMTP port is set to 587 and my server requires authentication is enabled. (Many Comcast Tech don't even know it).

    Hello

I'm a Microsoft Online Customer Service, which contacts on behalf of my client. My client has problem with Outlook Express, which cannot send and receive emails, and cannot sync to the phone. He receives this error message below:

The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please check that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'POP3', server: 'SMTP', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 11001, error number: 0x800CCC0D

I'm not sure of the sync with the phone number, but the account settings are not yet near. SMTP is not a host name or a server name. You must find the correct POP3 server settings.

My Outlook Express cannot find the server to send e-mail.  I receive emails from my ISP.  Any suggestions to solve this problem

It would be useful to include any error message you get when something like that happens as it may for various reasons. However, I'll look in my CrystalBall and suggest this:

Change the SMTP port to 587 and ensure that: my server requires authentication is enabled.

  • Failure of Outlook Express to download and email: error code0x800CCCOF

Here is the error message displayed when I try to use Outlook Express:

(I can, perversely, send messages in the normal way, but it won't download the multiplication of incoming messages).

"Your server has terminated suddenly the connection. The possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. "Account: 'mail.btinternet.com', server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, error number: 0x800CCC0F.

I checked all the settings and they seem to be set correctly, as suggested by my ISP. I also increased the length of the "Time out" maximum available, as suggested in a Microsoft article, nothing helps.

Can anyone suggest how to deal with this problem?

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email
    http://thundercloud.NET/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

The way most effective to do this is to completely remove the program anti-virus and then perform a custom installation. When the possibility of withdrawing the e-mail analysis arises, remove.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, after return.
  • We recently had Comcast to att uverse & changed our settings in outlook express but now receive duplicate emails

    Outlook express duplicate messages

We recently had Comcast to att uverse & changed our settings in outlook express but now receive duplicate e-mail messages.  I have leave copy on the server checked so that we can access our messages from multiple computers, do not know if there is anything else that needs to be changed to avoid this problem.

Pretty much confirms that it is outside interference. You have McAfee on both machines? Close all programs and temporarily disable McAfee on both machines. Send a short test message now.

Norton and McAfee are two of the worst programs to use with Windows e-mail clients. They cause conflicts and must be removed in favour of a less intrusive program like NOD32, (not free), Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials, (both free). I use MSE on all my machines and it works fine.

  • I can't send emails in Outlook Express. "The connection to the server has failed."

    original title: cannot send Emails

Operating System: Windows XPAntivirus program: McAfee Antivirus

I have two email addy on Outlook Express 6.0 that have worked well for years.  Now, for the last 3 weeks, I can only receive mail among the addy.  I can not send and get the error:

"The connection to the server failed. "Account: 'mail.bellspalsy.ws', server: 'mail.bellspalsy.ws', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 10060, error number: 0x800CCC0E".

I checked with my ISP, Verizon.  They tried a few things and said Outlook contact.  I also checked with the email provider of the email addy that does not work.  They said that there is nothing wrong at their end.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

As far as I KNOW, Verizon is blocking SMTP email from Outlook (or any other mail program), unless you use a Verizon email via their SMTP server.

Your server is mail.bellspalsy.ws, since Verizon block port 25 (smtp), that the post does not turn off.

Option 1. Use Verizon email address and their server.

Option 2. Whether mail.bellspalsy.ws can accept other ports and change it in Outlook.

Option 3. Use a Webmail via the browser.

  • move Outlook express address book and email to another computer

How can I transfer my outlook express addresses that are stored in folders of email to another computer.  function export used but just end up with a long list of addresses, I need them in folders.

I don't know if you can still do it in your current situation.

Then open your address book by default to the Group wanted all members of the Group and select copy to Clipboard (Ctrl + A select all, Ctrl + C copy them into the Clipboard).  Then open the "autonomous" WAB file and paste the contacts in that file (you will need to press Enter each entry, but it beats tapping OK), and then copy the wab file to a floppy disk or export it as a CSV file.  Otherwise, folders and groups neither import nor export.

  • Outlook Express 6 problem: send an email I get an error message and the email is not put in the sent items folder

Outlook Express 6, Windows XP SP 3

Problem: send an email, I get an error message and the email is not put in the sent items folder while the email (and attachments, if any) are successfully delivered to the recipient.

The full error message is always useful, but I'm sure you have damaged dbx files.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them.  New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.
