End of Mac 10.6.8

I just heard that Mac 10.6.8 ends. I think the upgrade to 10.6.8. Specifications my printer Photosmart 7520 is OK with 10.8. My officejet 6500 a plus isn't. When I decide to make these updates, should I uninstall the officejet before installing the new driver?

Helen

Hello Helen, I hope you are well

I understand that you are looking to upgrade to 10.8 10.6.8. Uninstall of the printer before the upgrade really is not necessary to do it with this upgrade. If you wish, feel free to uninstall it and reinstall it after the upgrade.

The driver for the Photosmart 7520 is compatible with 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8.

Here is the link for the driver, where you need: HP Photosmart 7520 e-all-in-one printer full feature software and drivers - Mac OS X v10.6, v10.7 and v10.8

I hope the information helps you!

Have a wonderful Monday!

  • Can I connect a DVI - DL my end 2012 Mac Mini input?

    Hi all...

I have a question...  I have a Late 2012 Mac Mini and I just bought a new BenQ XL2411Z 24 "play.  It supports the 1ms and up to 144 Hz.  I know that my Mac Mini (end 2012) has an Intel 4000 1.5 GB graphics installed in it.  Can I use via the HDMI Port or Mini Display Port to connect it to Port DVI - DL on BenQ monitor?

Is it possible to do and enjoy the benefits of the 144 Hz instead of plain 60 Hz HDMI?  Also, is it possible to update a Video of Mac Mini card?  (Half-joke but always curious to know if it's possible?).

    Thanks in advance!

Also, is it possible to update a Video of Mac Mini card?

No, because it does not have a separate video card. The graphics chip is soldered to the logic board.

60 Hz is maximum refresh rate.

  • Exactly what speaker model works with a Mac Mini end of 2014?

In Dec of 2015, I bought a new end 2014 Mac Mini at the Apple Store online. I want external speakers for it.

Can someone tell me PLEASE the correct model that works?  I have read many horror stories.

    Thank you!

  • Mac Pro: 5 Monitor Configuration help

    Hey guys!

I have been working on a fairly massive project and am in need of some specific knowledge, Mac Pro, I did not.

We will use the end 2013 Mac Pro as our work computer to bid on multiple auctions on multiple screens simultaneously. To illustrate the concept:

    * Forgive my skills as God art *.

The problem we run into is wiring all 5 screens for the Mac Pro. Poster 2-5 have only the HDMI and VGA inputs. We are in need of the best possible quality who can offer screens of theses, my idea was just to pick up MiniDisplay 4 HDMI adapters to connect to the wall mounted monitors and use a Thunderbolt cable to connect the Thunderbolt Display. However, I have been informed and influenced in the delicate on the Mac Pro website formulation in the belief that the end of 2013 Mac Pro can handle 2 HDMI monitors.

I would like to know your opinion on using MiniDisplay 4 HDMI adapters or not will work. And if no, what is the way to achieve the best quality on the whole upward.

I thank very you much for your time and help!

    -Austin

The 2013 MP can handle two monitors inherited (HDMI and DVI) with the cheaper passive miniDP > HDMI or DVI adapter. For more than two adopters must be active adapters.

    All adopters VGA are active.

This is an active NPD > adopting HDMI

  • VRAM can be improved in the Mac Mini graphics card?

My goal is to run the FCP and the movement on an older mac mini.   End 2012, Mac Mini, but the only missing area is the amount of VRAM associated with the graphics card.  For example; Intel HD Graphics 4000 with 1536 MB shared VRAM, Motion 5.2 specifications is VRAM 256, I upgrade the VRAM?  I can update the entire graphics card, or would one of these more trouble than what it's worth?

Here are the full specifications of the Mac Mini I am considering buying used.

2.3 GHz Intel QUAD 'Core i7' processor with boost speeds up to 3.3 GHz

8 GB of 1600 memory DDR3 SDRAM MHz (PC3-12800), easily expandable to 16 GB

    256 GB of Flash storage

Intel HD Graphics with 1536 MB shared VRAM 4000

Port FireWire "800", four USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, Thunderbolt

The only thing out of the plug of movement is the VRAM.

    Thank you for your help.

    Michael C.

Mac Mini memory system is used for VRAM on 2012.

There is no way to increase the system RAM, it serves of VRAM, once you max the RAM System.

With less than 4 to 8 GB of system RAM less system RAM use of VRAM

  • Advice from rMBP to Mac Mini

    Hello

Looking for reviews, I hope other people who have some experience. I will try to keep things simple.

I am a photographer who bought a 2104 13.3 "rMBP refurbished Apple 5 months ago. It was a nice affair. Although I realize that I'm not happy with this configuration, due to the glossy screen, the size of 13 "limits, fixed only a 128 GB SSD and 8 GB of RAM. I could change the SSD, but I don't want Sub Applecare.

I was considering getting a Mac Mini opportunity, end 2012 model. I would setup 16 GB of RAM and a 500 GB SSD. And the purchase of a screen monitor mast 25 ". I'll probably opt for the i5 model based on cost.

My question is I notice a big difference in performance if I move to the Mac Mini? I'll be in Photoshop for post-processing of images, nothing too intensive.

I know that my other option is to just get the external monitor and use it with the rMBP, but I would be still limited with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB SSD. In addition, I have more a need for portability.

Any notice or related experience would be appreciated.

I have a rMBP of end-2012 (8 GB of RAM, 256 GB flash drive) and a couple of end-2012 Mac mini (both with 8GB RAM, 120 GB SSD and HDD to 500 GB). The Minis are used as servers, but to be honest, I do not see or feel a difference between the performance of the Minis and rMBP.

I think that the fact that you would go 16 GB of RAM and 500 GB SSD on the Mini should provide some improvements in the work you do.

  • Why is my iBook G4 only allow me to reactivate it after some time?

Hi, I know that the title is confusing, so I will explain more in detail. The problematic computer is an iBook G4 ' 14.1 (2005 I think).

    The problem:

The computer seems to wake up only when I move the mouse. However, it only allow me to wake up all 5 minutes or more. Once awakened, the screen stays on for 3 seconds. I doubt that it is a problem with the map of the screen/video from the screen "fades" as it facilitates in and out of sleep as expected. Even while he was sleeping, the optical drive is showing signs of activity.

Something to mention is that there are currently no operating system installed. I am booting from an OS X 10.5.x installation disc. The Installer seems to work because when the screen lights up enough a long time for me to see that I'm being invited to the installation language. The installation disk provided with (much nicer) end 2008 Mac Book Pro my mom. I tried to use an external USB mouse, but apparently not effect the nature of the problem somehow (I get the same behavior with the trackpad).

    History of the computer:

I found this computer in the trash with half of the missing screws, no battery, no charger and no hard drive. I restored to the harsh but the operating state. I bought the cheaper charger I could find and install one SO - DIMM DDR 256 MB sitting around, I had. I also acquired a hard drive IDE to work from a friend. I've had enough screws lying around that I could add screws to all the main points (including the hinge of the screen). While working on it, the connector for the power button is released the logic board so I was shorting the pins of the connector in order to start the computer. This isn't really a problem since I'm going to buy a soldering iron which I wanted to buy anyway to work with Arduino robotics. I'm going to use the iron to be welded to re - solder the power connector on the system board.

Your vintage PowerPC G4 iBook cannot use other Mac OS X DVD Installer

or any restoration software kit install other numbered model specific to the model .

The media in OS X 10.5 Leopard DVD official of detail would be the last system

the device can use. The laptop comes with a special marked gray

install-restore all who had an iBook G4 - kit specific software OS X 10.4.x.

That set of disks, as having been shipped, also included the not supported applications

found on an OS X version which can operate otherwise on this unit.

If a processor Intel Mac system software generally does not work in vintage PPC.

This is the first hurdle. Drivers for the graphics processor and other pieces would also

fail because a processor Intel Mac system disc does not.

As for troubleshooting screens; a VGA adapter to the port built to accommodate

an external monitor can be useful. There are components on the system board and

in the screen itself, which could fail. You can test the main Widget

using the external port and adapter to get around these other elements.

Some aspects of the old system OS X 10.5 Leopard are universal, to support

Intel-PPC-based on the and material; but provided no PPC is supported when the kit

was intended specifically for Intel-based model. If the original version of Tiger on

marked for the iBook G4, or retail label Leopard, gray DVD support is good parts.

    Good luck in this case!

  • 5.6.2 pages will not open Documents

    Basic problem:

I got iWork 5.6.2 for some time now without any problem, but, recently, I have reproduced a 233 KB word document and after it froze the application. I waited for about 10 minutes, but there is no determination to force the application to quit. Now, there are a handful of documents (all except one who were not open for quite force) which opens at all. The affected documents were those located on my desktop (not all of them only a select few). Any document on file or turn off my desktop are not affected (including the one that was opened during the strength to quit smoking). In addition, while pages runs the activity monitor reports that it uses 100% CPU even if no document is open.

    Detailed description of the problem:

Double click on the relevant pages documents triggers the expansion fire effect and pages icon upward normally, but the document does not in fact. Repeated attempts to open the document give the same results (with pages already running, while now shift, or any combination of the two). No other application does seem to be affected.

    Troubleshooting of the measures taken:

I deleted the cache pages com.apple, the problem persisted.

I tried to remove the duplicate on which moved to the trash can without problem, but caused the progress bar to empty the trash to hang up. Pages to quit helped double should be deleted. This model of moving file is the case with all the files affected; they can be moved to other folders while pages is open or closed, but may not be carried over to the Office unless the page is closed.

I started in safe mode and logged normally and the problem is exactly as described above, as was the case with the boot in safe mode and pressing shift of the login screen until the desktop icons appeared (using the click method shift not made no difference in both cases).

Details and specifications of the system:

end 2012 mac mini, quad core i7 to 2.3 GHz, 16 GB memory, 1 TB HD

    OS X El Capitan 10.11.5

    Don't not running antivirus/malware programs

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Restore what you can from Time Machine before this merger of Pages down. There is no other towers of magic left you after your activities. If you have no backup, you are finished.

Open Word documents are translated into own Pages .pages document structure, so unless you've exported to Word, and force replaced the original, your Word document is unchanged. A force quite multiplies the possibility for damaged files.

Any document that is in use by an application is blocked a disposal by the operating system.

  • Fan runs constantly

I installed my OS to El Capitan and now my i7 fan (end 2012) Mac Mini runs constantly. Even during sleep. This never happened with Yosemite, so there must be something specific to the operating system of El Capitan. I checked my process in activity monitor, I use about 1% of CPU at idle, so it doesn't seem to be a rogue process using the CPU. I tried to install 3rd party fan control systems but those don't make turn below 5000 RPM fan. I have reset the SMC and that no longer works. I am at a total loss. It's really annoying to hear this fan humming away nonstop. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Activity Monitor to kill Runaway processes

    Before Mavericks

Open the activity monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select all processes in the drop process .  Click the % CPU column heading twice to display in descending order.  If find you a process that uses a large amount of time processor (> = 70,) then select the process, and then click the quit icon in the toolbar.  Click the force quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Don't forget to mention the name of the runaway process, so you can find the cause of the problem.

    Mavericks and later versions

Open the activity monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select all processes in the menu display .  Click the CPU tab in the toolbar. Click the % CPU column heading twice to display in descending order.  If you find a process that uses a large amount of CPU %, then select the process, then click on the quit icon in the toolbar.  Click the force quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Don't forget to mention the name of the runaway process, so you can find the cause of the problem.

  • 09 pages Document is locked on the screen

I use a template (end 2012) Mac mini. I have 10 GB of RAM and using OS 10.11.4 (El Capitan)

Using Pages 4.3, I have developed a document which is long, 1136 pages filled with related bookmarks and many photos, resulting in a 230 MB file.

When I opened the file, what looks like a with blue band loading zone opens first and then my precious document comes up.  Everything looks good except the so-called box loading remains on the screen and all functions in the menu bar of the application are grey, which is inactive.  so I have to force quit the application. Then, when I try to load a small file by double clicking it, only my precious document opens and the result is the same.  In short, my pages application is now inoperative.  I rebooted the computer, opened a disk check main by using the Checker utility, tried to open this document without any other apps and the problem doesn't go away.  My document seems to be blocked at the request and the opening I can't click even the document window to close.

My fear is that I have reached a limit with pages 09 application and I do not think that Apple in their wisdom will support 09 Pages for their latest version that I can't use because the new version support not linking them, etc, etc.

Anyone out there can help me with this problem?   If my request has been screwed is there a way I can get a new version? that is from Pages 09

    Jack

You try to open a document v4.3 of Pages that contain unsupported features in v5 Pages, and in addition, Pages v5 is horrible when you work with exceptionally large documents bulging with other objects (for example, pictures, or tables). In addition, Pages v5 can asked you will convert the document and is quite confused about what he has found.

Quit all applications Pages. Restart your Mac. Make at least one backup offline of your document in page 1136.

Right click on your document v4.3 Pages ' 09 and on the shortcut menu, choose open with: Pages (4.3).

  • Duel monitor

I have just installed bootcamp on my computer (end 2013 Mac Pro) and a staff nine MBP (15 "with a dedicated graphics card). Both computers work fine with multiple monitors during execution of OS X, but as soon as I swap Windows 10, they will work only as a display. Mine runs of the two external (works LG, Acer does not work). His only runs the retina on the MBP. It has two dell monitors as well. I tried to install the drivers for its monitors, but it gets to the end and wants to 'find' his monitor and cannot. For mine, the site Acer says theres an error when I search drivers the monitor. I first started in windows 8.1 because we licensed in volume and then used the free upgrade to 10. When my mac pro was running 8.1, displays the Acer and the LG has worked well. I don't test with his macbook because I stayed right on the retina until I was all finished. My screens are plugged with two mini display to HDMI (no adaptors, actual cables) cables. Currently, we have one of its valleys hung with a HDMI (does not work). I don't have the appropriate cables to connect the two valleys currently.  Once everything happens here, his MBP will be placed in a doc with cable a thunderbolt from the first dell and then a second bolt of lightning chaining to the second dell. Any ideas on how to get Windows 10 to recognize more than one screen?

Monitors do not really have the drivers of the resolution and refresh rate is set to the monitor stand, it should work never had problems in versions of windows when I put update and correct resolution of the cause of the correct video driver is not installed and functioning with a driver generic VGA no external monitor wouldn't work

  • Transfer of pictures to a hard drive external

What should I: 1) 13-inch aluminum end 2008 MAC 2) WD - My passport for MAC external hard drive

Goal: Move my photos from my MAC to the external hard drive. Since I was 20K photos on my MAC, I think this place free (once I double, triple check everything works and then delete the photos on my MAC) on my MAC, improving performance.

Given that the HD is already set up for a MAC, just do the HD MAC, drag the photo from the HD folder and let it do its thing?

    Thanks - Rob

You drag it there, launch iPhoto, Aperture, or Photos with down option, click on another library for Photos, choose and keep a copy of it on an external drive then.
