ENE CIR Receiver Driver

~2014.05.13~

I made the switch from Windows Vista to Windows v.8.1 on my HP Pavilion dv7 - 2173cl Entertainment Notebook.

I get the following error message:

"A problem with your infrared receiver".
"Your infrared receiver has stopped working correctly because a compatible driver is not available for this version of Windows. The name of the model of your infrared receiver is ENE CIR Receiver. This unit is distributed by several different PC

manufacturers. To find out if there is an updated release of your infrared receiver, contact your device or the computer manufacturer. »

WHERE can I FIND THE DRIVER "because a compatible driver is not available for" Windows v.8.1?

My research shows:

The W7 driver should work.

This is more recent than what you found, and it is just the support of your PC and driver page.

  • DV9417ca infrared receiver driver for Windows 7

I was wondering if there is a driver that works with Windows 7.

I tried sp44983.exe, sp44994.exe, and sp45214.exe, none of them does not seem to work.

    Thank you

Thank you guys.  After a series of quarrels, I found that Win 7 supports the default receiver.  The problem turned out to be a low battery on the remote control.  The reason that he has escaped me, it's that I actually tested it under infrared on a camcorder, and I was convinced that the remote didn't work.  But apparently, the signal was not strong enough for the receiver.  A new battery and it worked like a charm.

    Guys Merry Christmas!

  • Problem with eHome Infrared Receiver Driver

I have an IR receiver USB that I got from Dell which came with my old computer (XPS 210, I had to have my computer replaced if... the motherboard was fried on this subject). When I plug in the usual Windows searches for a driver and install. The driver for this is "eHome Infrared Receiver (USBCIR)" as it is listed in the device under USB devices Manager. After installation there is a green light on the receiver and everything works great, works by remote control (supplied with the receiver) very well as well.

However, whenever I restart my computer, Windows detects the device again only as an unknown device. The receiver doesn't have a light on this subject, so it does not work. So that this work once again, I have to unplug and plug it in again.

I tried to uninstall the device in Device Manager and install the driver again, but this does not solve the problem. I also tried different locations USB... does not help. I do not use hubs USB, just the slots on the tower. All my other USB devices work fine.

I already searched the internet to find that apparently no one knows this problem. The receiver worked fine with my old computer, nothing was wrong. My old comptuer ran Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit (x 86) but this one runs the same only 64-bit, could be the problem.

OS: Windows Vista Ultimate (x 64-Bit)

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi guys,.

Did you guys check with Dell to see if they provide a 64-bit driver for the remote update? or with Phillips?  The firmware may need to be updated too if possible.

  • Receiving IR of HP and MC remote control does not work after upgrading Vista to Windows 7.

I upgraded a laptop HP dv9249us for Win 7 Ultimate (64 bit) and Home Premium (32 bit) respectively of Vista and an HP HDX 18 and found that the small remote controls supplied with the PC HP no longer work the IR receiver to control WMC.  For the moment I tried to find a solution for the dv9249us, as the HDX has also a greater remote specialized for the tv tuner, which is still working, but I found that HP did not provide software Win 7 upgrade for this model.  I tried a thought fix it was to be a known side effect of the upgrade process because he appeared in two different rooms and found a HP IR driver referenced to correct this problem for another model called ENE CIR Receiver Driver (sp41645.exe) and install this on the dv9249us without result.  When you check the Device Manager on the dv9249us I have not found reference to an IR unit either in the areas of Human Interface or Universal Serial Bus controller.  I found a reference IR in the section of the Human Interface of the HD-18 referencing an ENE CIR Receiver.  Ideas that you could provide for a non-professional would be appreciated.

I can not find a model of dv9249 specifically on the hp site. I found the dv9200

in all cases, try to remove the Device Manager devices and if requested if you want
