Enigma of lens metadata

Not really a problem of ACR, but I have a thorny problem in need of Smart minds and I can't imagine a better place to ask...

I have a Nikon D800 and a few lenses. I shoot RAW and send pictures on my Windows PC using Bridge. I process Raw images in the latest version of ACR & Photoshop.

Today, I noticed that for the last few weeks, bridge shows no data model to aim for my new images. Anything until the end of February is correct, but the next March 19 shooting and later just a white in the field of the lens.

Bridge.jpg

However, once you load this image in ACR, it is recognized.

ACR.jpg

I even installed software from Nikon, and he agreed.

VNX.jpg

I was wondering if it was something to do with bridge being updated recently at 6.2, but I would have thought that this would affect all images, new and old. I have even a few images uploaded manually, in which case the photodownloader was at the origin of the problems - no difference.

I was wondering if the Nikon Lens Distortion data (2,009 to 2.013) firmware update caused the problem. If I could downgrade to the latest version, that could help, but I can't find the file. But anyway, cab and ViewNX have no problem, the model of the reading lens. Why it only affects bridge?

I'm puzzled. You are the cleverest people with such things, do you have any suggestions?

I found a setup.zip for ACR 9.4 and had to manually extract and rename the plugin to archive.

I'm now with ACR 9.4 and the details of the lens are back!

  • Goal not recognized by Lightroom despite the profile of lenses available and correct metadata in the RAW file

    Hi all

In Photoshop Lightroom CC (latest updates installed - v2015.5) my Tamron 15-30 mm f/2.8 lens is not recognized, only an opportunity for the focal length and aperture are visible.

The profile of lenses must be selected manually - but even after selecting the lens information are not available for the photos in the library module, so I can't search/filter for this purpose.

In the RAW files from my Nikon D750 written in the metadata correctly: target = 15-30 mm f/2.8 and LensIDNumber = 233.

Funny enough for the 24-70mm f/2.8 Tamron everything works-> his profile is automatically recognized in the develop module and I can / filter to search for it in the library module.

    Any advise?

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Lens information

    All top!

I think that I can race in a bug in the 2015.5 LR CC version.
I have imported images, and then run the profile of lens on them.

However when I go to sort the images in LR via metadata - I am unable to get "lens metadata" in the metadata Panel.

What I try to achieve is to separate the images fisheye Nikkor (with correction of distortion of unwanted image that are applied to them) from the pictures not FishEye (Nikon 14-24 and 24-70).

There was a problem in an earlier version that caused the data of the lens to hide for a few drinks. Please follow the procedure described in the link below to "manually" correct data of the lens to the image files affected:

  • The goal of the EXIF ID data lost by Lightroom CC (March 17 April 29, 2016)

There was an update CC 17/03/2016 after where one of my photos copied to Lightroom has lost part of their lens metadata ID (it keeps the focal distance and knows the model for purposes of lens corrections but cannot identify the purpose in the metadata).

There was a CC update 29/04/2016 according to which these data are now correctly copied from the camera, however copied photos between 17/03/2016 and 29/04/2016 still reportedly missing lens EXIF identifier.

I was very disappointed to see the update 29/04/2016 only solves the problem of lens metadata in the future but does not deal with the time period where the image data has been corrupted by Lightroom CC.  I now have thousands of photos showing as 'Unknown target' in the metadata filter...

QUESTION: Is it possible for these data EXIF be replaced while I can sort the attributes of type of lens? (NB: I WANT A SOLUTION WITHOUT HAVING TO BUY SOFTWARE THIRD...) I already pay for a monthly subs to Lightroom CC and hope that it works as expected and if it caused damage of software bugs to Adobe data offer a solution).

    Hello

    Hello

Correction lens metadata is an integrated part of the Micro-FourThirds systems.

Micro-FourThirds lenses carry the lens correction profiles in the lens itself. Its location in the raw files at the time of the capture by the housing of the device as a special type of metadata, that Lightrooom will apply automatically. You will notice on the tab Correction of the goal that it will show "Allow for correction of profile" and the value in the profile is the default.

To make the Nikon lens, there are available profiles but only for the FIRST.

  • Unknown lens after the filter in the Modul library metadata

    Hello

I imported just a few pictures, made with different objectives. Unfortunately all the Fotos as unknown LR lists lens. It recognizes my camera (Nikon D800) but to the other column, there are unknown Lens.

How can I solve this problem? I don't want to reimport the photos, because they are already in preview and partly implemented to the point.

I chatted with support, but I advice to rename the preferences. This is not helped at all.

    I described the problem enough?

    Ah, I use LR CC

    Thank you

    Gerhard

You must update to LR CC 2015.5 / 6.5. Help > system information to check which version you're on.

Once that you have updated, select all the pictures concerned, to metadata > save to a file, then the metadata > read from a file.

  • No info in the metadata in Lightroom CC2015 lens

I would like to know why information of the lens has been removed metadata specified in the lightroom library.  I find this information very important when back on my photos I took to see the target I used at that moment.  Now it is no longer included.

This image shows lightroom metadata display showing the lens I used, notice of the date, February 27, 2016.

    Metadata without Lens.jpg

It comes to lightroom without the lens information in the metadata view that it took in April 17, 2016.

Is someone can you please tell me why this information of the lens has been removed metadata in lightroom.

  • Errors in metadata in LR CC 2015:5? Nikon D7200 files shows "unknown lens.

Recently the metadata reports 'unknown lens' for my Nikon D7200 files.

If I look in the metadata Panel 'Focal length' and 'focal length 35 mm' display the correct values, but the following line "Lens" is not at all.

My Nikon 1 raw files show the correct information.

My files-D7200 earlier this year (before last update) display the correct values. All files show correct metadata in Bridge (also good in Nikon ViewNX-i and FastRawViewer)

  • Metadata profile and the lens do not match

    Hello

I have a Fuji X - e1 and the last update from 4.4 LR running on 10.6.8 16 GB of RAM, all operating system up-to-date software.

The problem is that my RAW of Fuji files do not show the correct lens profile in the develop module. The only choice available to choose is for Fuji X 100 (which I have ever owned or shot). The metadata in the library module are correct for the lens and the camera and also shows correctly in Bridge.

However, with the same software on Macbook Pro a friend - also 10.6.8 LR 4.4, etc - the lens correctly profile to research the goal of the X - e1 self-correction and 18 mm.

I uninstalled LR on the desktop using an uninstall program called Zap, downloaded 4.4, reinstalled and still the same "error".

Any ideas on why 1) error and 2) how to correct?

    Thank you!

There are a lot of profiles for Raw images but much less for JPG images.

LR will only show profiles of lenses that apply to the file in question format. So when you have a JPG image file profiles for the first images will be not displayed in Lr and vice versa.

If you do not correct lens profile in your list, you will need to download it.

For this you need the Adobe Lens profile Downloader.

And for this program, you need Adobe Air.

Download two programs from Adobe website - they're free.

Then, install Adobe Air first and when it is installed, install the Lens profile Downloader.

After installation just to open, it is explicit and display all available lenses profiles once you have selected your camera and lens makes.
