Enterprise Manager (EM) data base Express

Hi guys,.

I have a database instance Oracle 12 c that was installed without the configuration option "Enterprise Manager (EM) Express database" How can I install the subsequent to a running instance? Thank you

ERMM... It is ok.. do not answer my question because you have no idea of what I'm asking.

EM DB Express isn't Cloud Control or control Grid.

    Thank you.

is 12 c, possible to manage the PDBs with Oracle Enterprise Manager Express?

Yes - but you will not have the COMPLETE management functionality. See the FAQ doc:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/manageability/emx-CDB-1965987.html

Can I Plug and unplug the PDBs with EM Express?

No, EM Express does not all CBD management capabilities in DB 12.1.0.1.0.

    Review ALL sections of doc

    How to find the URL?

When I run select dbms_xdb_config.gethttpsport (double); on a PDB file, it returns no rows.

Have you set up EM and set the port to the PDB? Again - see the FAQ doc

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/manageability/emx-intro-1965965.html#A5

How can I configure EM Express on CBD and APB?

Users can configure EM Express at the root and container of the PDB, with each container using another HTTP/HTTPS port.  When it is connected to the root container, the information displayed are the entire database, including all PDB files.  When it is connected to a PDB file, displayed information is limited to the PDB data.  For more information, see the section on EM Express on the CBD.

  • Cannot connect to Oracle Enterprise Manager Express

I downloaded image database Oracle Developer days 12 c virtualbox. I can start and access the desktop. When I try to log in to Enterprise Manager (EM) Express by using the URL http://127.0.0.1:8888 / em , ask me to install Adobe Flash. I set up and access the login screen.

I checked that I can connect with the SYSTEM and the SYS user in SQLPLUS.

When I try to log on as user SYS in EM Express I get a strange error: security token does not match. You have to login again...

    enter image description here

The same happends if I login as user SYSTEM.

To me, it looks like for SYS credentials are OK, but there is something wrong with the user in the database. Is that correct and if so, how can I solve this? Or EM Express is simply no installation on the image?

    Thank you and best regards.

    Hi sb92075,

  • The OIF using Enterprise Manager - metadata configuration expiry date

I'm trying to set up the OIF for the integration of the OAM - OIF and talk to our identity provider. We are a customer of Fusion HCM hosted on request.

Here are the steps to go to the screen

Enterprise Manager right click on OIF > Administration > Security and trust > metadata provider > Generate

Currently, the number of days is limited to no more than 120 days. We would replace the metadata of all file 120 days in IdP system. Follow us a process of pretty eloborate for PDI system changes so I wanted to know is there a way to allow metadata to be valid for more than 120 days (say 1 year or 2 years something that most of the other SP's)

We are on OOD hosted implementation of the HCM, so we have full access to the intermediate layer OIF/OIM/OAM, then I'll be okay if you can tell me where the new metadata file is stored so that I can change to be valid for more than 120 days.

    Thank you

The expiration of metadata is not configurable. It is set to 120 days to encourage the suppliers approved SAML periodically check and make sure that their local copy is in harmony with the metadata currently in force for the OIF Service provider. In practice, the change metadata are very rare (server certificate renewal, the endpoint URL changes) and are made with sufficient notice to enable the partners to plan for change.

Please file an ER if your needs dictate that the expiration of metadata be configurable.

  • Enterprise Manager Newbie Q

    Hello all,.
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
    Windows 2008 R2
Last night one of the production users received an ORA-01652: unable to extend segment temp by 128 in tablespace TEMP error.

Therefore, my manager asked that I
“Please configure our database servers to notify us via email when critical thresholds are exceeded.

This is a standard config option within enterprise manager”.
I have very little experience/exposure with EM. In fact, I found several terms that, in my view, all refer to the same thing (correct me if I'm wrong please), for example: "OEM Database Control", "OEM Grid Control" and the so-called capabilities of "The Business Service Management (BSM) of Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Are these different products/tools, or the different implementations of the OEM?

We are not a CAR shop. Is the term THAT GRID is also used to indicate a RAC environment?

I'm looking for a few good sources of 'How to use/configure OEM' information. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I am looking to buy the following books, recommendations on these projects or others?

Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Handbook (Oracle Press) - Gruyter Werner
Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control 11g R1: Business Service Management - Ashwin Kumar Kinihira, Govinda Raj malika

It seems that there is a repository of data for the OEM. Is it necessary in general? Can I configure things such that I can get notifications by e-mail when tablespace (s) exceed a certain threshold of use without the repository?

I know that I've rambled on some, thank you for your patients.

    Thanks for your time,
    Bob

I can answer some of your questions...

"OEM Database Control" is essentially "Oracle Enterprise Manager for a single data base". "OEM Grid Control" (or the current version, "OEM Cloud Control" is essentially "Oracle Enterprise Manager for several databases", as well as the possibility for the host of the server monitor, web applications and quite a few other non-base of data.) They are similar but different products. Control of database gets usually installed with the database software itself, while the control of grid/cloud is a completely separate a stand-alone product installation. I don't know what the BSM forest made reference to.

Control of the database uses the monitored database as its data repository (in the SYSMAN schema). Grid control also requires a repository, but you are allowed to install a separate, free of charge license database to serve as a repository for the grid control as long as you don't use for something else (other than as a catalogue of RMAN recovery). If you don't want to install a different database to serve as a control of the grid/cloud, you can use an existing database, but it is generally not recommended.

Control of the database or grid/cloud control can operate without a repository. One of them will allow you to set up alert notifications when tablespace (s) exceed your thresholds configured, or when several other events happen (DB stops, complete file system, CPU too high, too many sessions, load what you want).

The term 'Grid' is used in 'Oracle Grid Infrastructure', which is part of the collection package that supports the CAR. 'Grid' is just a marketing term, RAC and Grid Control are orthogonal concepts, nor requires the other but they can also be used together.

I can't comment on the books.

  • Error in Enterprise Manager

Upgrade 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.2 and EM does not
Posted the: November 2, 2011 07:47 edit answer

    -Windows 2008
    -Oracle 11.2.0.2

I just upgraded two of my three Oracle databasaes and on one of them, Enterprise Manager is not working, but running.

    History:
When I State, I get this error:

    C:\Users\Srvc-AWAAHR-ora > emctl status dbconsole
ORACLE_UNQNAME environment variable not defined. Please install ORACLE_UNQNAME in unique name of database

Then, make sure that the single is set and still the error, look below:

    C:\Windows\System32 > emctl status dbconsole
    OC4J Configuration problem. F:\Oracle_Prod\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1/OC4J/J2EE/OC4J_DBConsole_ < servername > _ < instance_name >
    not been found.

So I say ok I would rebuild and here is what I get:

EMCA - config dbcontrol db-rest recreate

Put in the name of the instance, and I get this:

    November 2, 2011 10:45:13 oracle.sysman.emcp.util.GeneralUtil initSQLEngineLoacly
    WARNING: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

    November 2, 2011 10:45:13 oracle.sysman.emcp.DatabaseChecks throwDBUnavailableException
    SEVERE:
Database instance is not available. Fix thrown ORA error and then rerun the wizard of Configuration of EM.

Some of the possible causes can be:

    (1) database can be upward.
    (2) database is started by setting the variable ORACLE_HOME environment with leak ' / '. Reset the ORACLE_HOME and bounce data
    base.
    For example. Database is started affecting the environment variable ORACLE_HOME = / scratch/db /. Reset the ORACLE_HOME = / scratch/db and b
    Once the database.

The part of Weir, it's that it points to the home production of database to oc4j instance

I think she has been corrupted when I tried to reconfigure.

When you have configured dbconsole on a database, it have repository in this database. You can not change to another database unless Unconfigure you it starting from the existing database and set up with the new database.

If you have multiple databases, you must have Enterprise Manager Grid Control. Dbconsole you can not monitor several databases.

I think that you have to explain your needs and environments before proceeding with any action.

  • Installed firefox 31 and now I can't seem to our oracle enterprise manager URL 12 c

    Hello

Monday, I've upgraded to Firefox 31 and now I can not connect to our site Web of Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control. I get the following error message:

    The secure connection failed

An error occurred during a connection to lmoemxs101q.atl2.dc.sita.aero:7799. The issuer certificate is not valid. (Error code: sec_error_ca_cert_invalid)

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site.

I don't know what to do to get rid of this message. I need to use OEM to monitor our Oracle databases, and I am no longer able to do this.

    Help, please.

    Thank you
    Roya

Maybe you can remove or distrust 'problematic' certificates are part of the authorities and add it again. Please refer to this post.

  • Reference Dell Enterprise Manager

Does anyone know where the company dell nursery software can be downloaded from?

If you have already installed a data collector and looking to the Compellent Enterprise Manager Client, you can get it by browsing to https://ipaddressorhostnameofdatacollector: 3033

  • Someone at - it still deployed Enterprise Manager 2014 R2?

I just upgraded to R2 Enterprise Manager 6.4.3.8 for 2014. I have Java 1.6 to 1.7 day x 45. Also, I went from Sql express to 2008R2 Mssql.

The upgrade went well, but now all my storage disconnect every two minutes and then reconnect. EM logs show this for each:

10/07/14 04:46:28 PMWarningStorage xxxx xxxx Center is low [SN: xxxx]. Primary control to FailedStorageCenter

    Anyone having problems with 2014R2?

One thing I will try tomorrow is re - generate the certificate on storage centers. Reason in is after I upgraded my workstation from 1,6 to 1,7 U45 U45 to accommodate the new client of EM, I could no longer connect to several of my Compellents via a browser. I could only connect to one. After several hours, I realized that the SSL certificate for the one that I could connect had the certificate created with the DNS name. The others I could not, the certificates have been generated with the IP address. Creating new cert via the storage Center by using the DNS name that fixed, and they re-connected in EM yet one more time. Yet they cut every two minutes. I wonder now and will try this tomorrow, is I have just re-generated the CERT with the dns name of ip management. Looking at the wizard again, it seems to dns and IP addresses of controllers as well. Maybe this new EM fails because of that.

Anyway, just curious of other experience with R2? Thank you!

Yes, I hired with co-driver, they believe that it is something with R2 manage less than 6.5 x. R1 SC code is working great for us so :) So I'll stay parked for a while.

  • Problem with Oracle 12 c Enterprise Manager

    Hello

Recently, I installed Oracle Linux Server release 7.2 on a virtual machine. I then installed Oracle 12 c SE2 but for the life of me I can't get Enterprise Manager to work. When I type the address it is to say. https://***:5500/em, all I have is that the page cannot be displayed. I tried to use different browsers... no luck. Database is running, and if I check the status of the listener I get the following result.

I also tried using different not ports... no luck. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the database... no luck.

I check the ports in sqlplus and I get the following output...

    ' HTTPS: / /' | SYS_CONTEXT ('USERENV', 'SERVER_HOST') |'. ' || SYS_CONTEXT (' USERENV ',' DB ")

I also ran the Edit the system registry command in sqlplus so exec dbms_xdb_config. sethttpport (5500 ( ) with no luck.

I checked, double checked and triple checked about every thing and still can't get 'EM to work. Help, please!

    TIA

That would explain why you can't connect. Failed to open the port on the remote system. It's a typical situation when a firewall is not blocking the communication. It could also be that your browser is configured to use a web proxy, or that a network firewall blocking the communication.

  • How to "Wisely" lock Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud control 12 c Release 4 (12.1.0.4)

    Hello guys.

I have a situation where non-technical people "was" and "are" using GRID control to kill session they "think" are originally from the problems of performance based only on the actual color of the moving window of Performance.

When I was told this, I got a feeling very sick in my stomach and said to this person that they are VERY lucky they have not corrupted in the database of PROD AGAIN!

    First Question:

How to recognize these people who kill sessions they run the RISK completely hose PROD and could experienced LOSS OF DATA REAL if something goes wrong.

    Second Question:

Because I'm just sur-monte to this place, should I wait a little before the implementation of new safety standards and to run the risk of harming someone ego?

    Please advise,

    Thank you

    Lady Allora...

The permissions to kill sessions are not provided by Enterprise Manager. EM is just the application they use to do this. They might also kill sessions with SQL * Plus, SQL Developer, or anything else. In EM, they authenticate to the database with an account. It is this database account that offers their privileges to perform this action. The appropriate security controls must be handled in the database.

When I was a new kid in a business, the first thing I did was examine and test backup and restore procedures. The second thing I did was to make my own security audit of the database. I found a lot of articles where I felt that the security of the database was in jeopardy. You have found an item and it is likely that you'll find much more of these elements. I recorded all the elements found in a spreadsheet and ranked in order of importance to fix. I then had a discussion with my directors on my security results. We went through the items one by one and discusses why it is important to clean up this line item. This gave me an action plan which has been approved by the management in the future. In many cases, I had to define corporate policies and create new processes. Those who once could make ActionX in the database still needed to do their job when I revoked their ability to do so. These people would need something new in place to help resolve or manage anything ever ActionX for them.

    See you soon,.
    Brian
