  • Database objects is EMPTY when you create the Entity object

    Hello!

    I am very new to JDeveloper/OAF, I'm an online example how to create an entity object. When I right click, new entity object, the objects of database is EMPTY, I expect that my tables will be listed here. I have already created a database connection and tested it successfully. When creating the new workspace, I defined the DBC file, my name of user and password, the abbreviated name of the application and the keys, I also defined a new package. What else is that I'm missing? I saw when the definition of a new package, it suggests a format particular as name.oracle.apps.component.subcomponent.webui, it has something to do with my problem? Is this format that is posted somewhere? Why do I get a blank list?

    Thank you.

    Jon

    Solved. I just replaced with the version you originally downloaded .dbc files. I remember that I took off the APPS_JDBC_URL line (following a statement online for a problem I encountered earlier). No doubt this has solved the problem.

  • Update the view of the objects when existing entity object is changed

    I created display objects of entity objects.  recently, I added a function that creates a guid in a field to these entity objects.  a little, I suppose that if I open the view related object, it would show this guid generator function in the default value field.  but it does not.

    so, you can synchronize the view objects and entity objects with the database, how you synchronize objects of respective view when their principal object attribute properties is changed?

    Thank you

    By default in EO and VO properties are not related.

    In OE, the default value is applied when you create a new line.

    Vo, the default value is applied to the transition attribute.

  • Object entity does gets updated when changes to target database

    Hey, trying to understand the ADF BC here.
    If we display objects or objects in entity referring to a database in Oracle or MySQL, etc., not the your or EOs is updated with changes made in the lines or the column values in the database and how it happen?
    And if the objects is updated should I just refresh the page of user interface to display changes to update?

    Thank you!

    No, the OT and vo may not get updated until that you run the query again. The update can initiated by any query that uses the same eo under the charge of vo eo.
    To update the user interface, you must run the iterator that the user interface is inspired again, this triggers the execution of the query of the vo.

  • ID field implement in ADF entity object created from Interface of Service BC

    I guess you guys as the gurus of the ADF have already known the simple trick to use the DB sequence to automatically generate the value of the ID of an entity object.
    This, however, only works if the EO is created directly from the database schema. In my case, the EO is in fact derived from view VO object that is exposed through the service BC of another application interface.
    How can I get the same operation as in the first case?

    The example I'm getting is very simple. In app A1, I LocationEO1 with create (...) of overridden method to automatically generate the code. His LocationVO1 is used for presentations to the A2 application service. In A2, LocationEO2 and LocationVO2 are created. But I don't know how to make the field LocationId having the next sequence value whenever I click on the button Create or CreateInsert.

    Sorry, I don't understand your point. The sequence is used in the application, you create the new row. So if you call a web service to get a new line, the web service should return a line with the id. You can't fronn id in another application that you do not know where is comes from.
    If you want to create the new row outside the application that exposes the web service, you can implement another method in the service interface that gets you a unique id in the sequence that you so is PK for the new line.

  • Expanded the Entity object / PL SQL error handling

    Hi all

    11.1.2 Jdev

    You are looking for just a few tips on the best way to handle errors in PL/SQL procedure with an extended entity object.

    I followed the guide of the developer successfully, http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/bcadveo.htm#sm0328 to extend my entity objects to call the package PL/SQL to manage all DML associated tasks, to day of the insert and delete.

    My procedure has a number of parameters, which will tell you whether or not the record has been updated and also return all messages.

    Is the best way to manage this workflow with the following steps:

    1. create the bean
    2. instantiate Bean
    3. set up routers flow task to control the fragments of success or exception?

    The other option I have is to trigger some application errors in my Interior, but at this point, I think the first approach to be the best.

    Advice appreciated as always!

    See you soon,.

    Simo

    Simo,

    If you want to be treated in the same way that 'integrated' errors are dealt with errors, you can create your own exception classes that extend local and throw the OE code if there is an error condition.

  • Dependence Maven of adf library with entity objects

    Hi all. My setup is JDeveloper 12.1.3

    I created an adf library jar with common entity objects so I can reuse this library in other modules of my application. The jar was created using the plugin for maven ojdeploy and if I inspect the jar file, everyhting is there (EO, Assoc, etc.)

    However, when I add the library as a dependency maven in another application, I don't see the EntityObjects, it is as if it is not added to my request. If I import the jar file directly by using the properties of project/libraries and classpath option, it works, I can see the EntityObjects and can create ViewObjects of them.

    I must say that the project compiles using maven dependency. What I can't do, is create a ViewObjects of the EntityObjects that are in the jar file, in order to do that I have to add the Jar file manually to libraries and to the classpath of the project.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    I found another way to do what I needed.

    I had to create a custom instead of an Application of Web of Fusion ADF application. The reason? I had to add Maven to the list of the characteristics of project:

    Configure the settings of maven for the project:

    Of course, the build environment is Maven as well:

    With this configuration, when I add a jar file to library adf to my project using the maven dependencies, I can use business defined in this library components. This solution is consistent with Maven and CI environment.

    Kind regards.

  • Startguidence - make a simple change in default values of an entity object

    Hi all!

    I want to do non-static values by default in some of the fields of an entity (ExtBankAccountsEO) object.

    I have JDeveloper on my pc, but not on the server where Oracle Financials is installed.

    So which is the best way to proceed?

    My first thought was to decompile ExtBankAccountsEO.class, add a create() method and then compile it on the server.

    But without changing ExtBankAccountsEO.java and compilation with

    javac - cp classes12.jar:classes ExtBankAccountsEOImpl.java

    I get an error of type

    ExtBankAccountsEOImpl.java:395: cannot find symbol

    symbol: class string

    location: oracle.apps.iby.schema.server.ExtBankAccountsEOImpl of the class

    public string getAttribute8()

    And similar to exception, subject, date and number.

    Am I missing something in the classpath or this is not possible?

    It comes to specific issue OA.

    Please close this thread and repost this in the space frame OA: OA Framework

    You should not change the standard evaluation office.  OA Framework gives you the flexibility of expansion.

    You can make extensions of EO/VO/AM/CO OPS.

    In rare cases, if we cannot get the specific critical functionality using customization, then we change the standard files WITH the APPROVAL of the CUSTOMER. (This is not supported by the Oracle Support)

    Also, the error message looks like SEO 'chain' rather than 'String. Check the line number ExtBankAccountsEOImpl.java:395

  • How to change the user interface of the entity object indicators / Validation msg when running?

    Hello

    I use JDeveloper with version 11.1.1.6.3. Given my requirment details below.

    Suppose I have a (say 'EMPLOYEE_RATING') table in DB with the following structure.

    Columns:

    1 EmployeeId (Employee Id)

    2 RatingType (values can be in Stock or Bonus)

    3 RatingLevel (values can be 1, 2, and 3)

    Constraint:

    EmployeeId, RatingType and RatingLevel all together must be unique.

    Requirement:

    The customer's requirement is to have two screens of rating (one for Bonus another stock) and display different user interface boards and validations as follows.

    1 RatingType is a hidden field, are defined with the default (Bonus or Stock) based on the screen that the user opens.

    1. for the Stock screen, RatingLevel label should be "Stock note.

    2. for the Bonus screen, the label should be 'Bonus Rating'.

    3. for validation, the message must be 'Bonus note level must be unique' or 'Level of Stock of notes must be unique' ADB on the user screen opens.

    Implementation:

    I have a def EO (for example "RatingEO") and VO (for example ' RatingVO') def. Tips UI (Label) are given at the level of the OS. Also the unique constraint validation is made to EO with the message ' {0} and {1} must be unique, where {0} is source.hints.EmployeeId.label "and {1} is source.hints.RatingLevel.label.  I also did the shuttle two different instances of the VO (EmployeeRatingBonusVO and EmployeeRatingStockVO) in the request form (although BonusTaskFlow and StockTaskFlow are set to open with the new transaction, Intension of the two shuttle different named instances is to have the common code in VO. impl class but can run different business logic code by checking the name of the instance of VO)

    Question:

    Since I have two different pages, I can define two different labels in the jsff, but I can't change the commit message defined at the level of object entity based on open display. At the opening of the screen, depending on the type of screen, I should be able to change the label specified at the level of the entity object. (It should not affect the definition but only the instance). As this entity object cannot be distinguished (if it belongs to Bonus or Stock), I have problem on how to change the indicators of UI during execution.

    Any help on this would be appreciated! Thank you.

    I tried your script.

    I created the secondary key with EmployId and rating level. I added validation of Unique key. In failure handling handling section of the validator, I gave the error message like: {0} must be unique. For token 0: I gave RatingType (here RatingType is the name of the attribute in OT).

    We give the default for RatingType as Stock Bonus in VO. kind RatingType get its value or Stock Bonus based on the original Version that we use.

    I hope this helps.

  • A display/entity object assigns default values to view another object

    I have a table as follows:
    Table A with attributes:
    ID, name, value1, value2,..., Value20

    Table B with attributes:
    ID, Env

    Assume that the Table B has 5 rows: (1, 'DEV'), (2, 'BT'), (3, 'SDEV'), (4, 'PDEV'), (5, 'UAT'),

    What I need, it's when I create A table line, Value1 attributes by Value5 in table A are populated by the value of the attribute Env of each record in Table B. So, in this example, the new line of table A will be:
    (1, 'Env affected', 'DEV', 'BT', 'SDEV', 'PDEV', 'UAT', null, null,...)

    I think to generate classes customized for A tables display objects and B and expose methods so that a bean to support, I can create a table A line and fill the Table B table.

    You have a better approach to do this?

    Thank you.

    When you post on this forum always to indicate the version of JDeveloper you use please.

    Assuming that JDev 11 g + I can think of a few ways to do this. However in a pod of support would be inaccurate, because you are mixing view logic with business logic. My suggestion:

    (1) to the table entity object (EO) create an accessor to display of the View object to table B
    (2) for table A EO generate the associated EntityImpl. Be sure to include the create() method.
    (3) in the EntityImpl, look for the get accessor method to retrieve the results of the view accessor install you in #1
    (4) in the # 2 create method, call the #3 accessor, walk records (eventually returned by table B) via getter accessor method view, learning the attributes of the table of A OS

  • Non-relational data in an entity object

    I have a need to manage entity objects that are created from files, text and API calls. I did a little research and found the sentence "this is a topic in advance" several times.

    Does anyone has an example or how to do this or can point me a little help on this topic?

    Thank you
    Michael

    This can be done with your programs: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/web.1111/b31974/bcadvvo.htm#sm0341
    Example: http://blogs.oracle.com/smuenchadf/examples/#132

    You can also opt to do this with a simple Java class and a data control based on it.
    For example: http://blogs.oracle.com/shay/2009/07/java_class_data_control_and_ad.html

  • Entity object - Validation of Composite primary key

    Hi people,

    Can someone help me to implement this? I have a custom table created with an entity object based on that. However, this table has a PK composed of three columns of number. The developer's guide says that PK validation should be performed inside the setter for the attribute using findByPrimaryKey PK, because for a simple PK validation is level of attribute, but in this case, I have three bombers distinct and three distinct attributes of PK, which makes the PK cross-attribute validation.

    I tried to implement this in the validateEntity() because it is cross-attribute, but still, the validation fails. In my view, which is related to the fact that when validateEntity() fires, the entity itself is already in the cache, and the call to findByPrimaryKey() causes BC4J return a single game. Here is the code inside the validateEntity() for me:
            // First validation: Primary Key Uniqueness
            if (this.getEntityState() == STATUS_NEW || this.getEntityState() == STATUS_INITIALIZED) {
                EntityDefImpl def = PeriodEOImpl.getDefinitionObject();
                EntityImpl period = def.findByPrimaryKey(getOADBTransaction(), getPrimaryKey());
                if (period != null) {
                    // ERROR: DUPLICATE KEY FOUND
                    throw new OARowValException( OAException.TYP_ENTITY_OBJECT
                                               , getEntityDef().getFullName()
                                               , getPrimaryKey()
                                               , "MSG_APP"
                                               , "MSG_NAME" );
                }
            }
    Y at - it assumptions that I am causing that validation always fail? Is there anyone who had the same requirement and implemented a working solution to this? I looked through the dev guide and other sources, but this simple and common requirement seems to be forgotten.

    Thank you very much and it concerns!
    Thiago

    You make a transaction fictitious attribute in the EO and do a Composite key of four attributes instead of three. This additional attribute must ensure the automatic error of the OA framework is not present. Now you can enter commands using validateEntity. Don't bother abt the value stored in the temporary attribute because it would be lost anyway.
