Envy 13 d010nw: HP Envy 13 trackpad always resets to default

Envy 13 laptop, for a week. The Synaptics Clickpad settings reset by default after each reboot.

Hello

Try the following.

Hold down the Windows key and press R

In the run box, type regedit and press enter

In the registry editor, navigate to the following

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Install

Inside, look for a key named DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade

If it is present, right click on the key and select Edit

Set the field data of the value 0 (zero) , and then click Ok.

Close the registry editor.

Make the Synaptics setting changes you need in the usual way and save them, and then check if they are now kept after a reboot.

Kind regards

DP - K

  • 15 x 360 PC envy: laptop TrackPad control with Windows 10

I have a new envy 15 x 360, running Windows 10 (64 bit, core i7).  I found it very hard to type with the big TrackPad / device control area constantly taking the cursor outside or make selections in an unexpected way.

Is there a way to easily transform the Trackpad on and outside?  Some laptops have a shortcut key - I have not found one for this one.

    Hey @LukeB,

What happens if you go to the properties of the mouse?

  • HP ENVY 2 removable PC 15 x: is the Envy 15-c101dx always available at HP?

I don't see this item available at the HP online store. This model was discontinued? If so, why? If this isn't the case, when she returned to the HP will store?

Once they are pulled out of the HP store which is usually the last you will see them there. It may be available in the renovated section or through a secondary seller like Best Buy, etc.

CNET has a link with the amazon marketplace where the seller has more than 15 and that they sell for $150 as less HP has been requested. The HP link is down.

  • ES1 - 111M trackpad always gel

Therefore, the trackpad on my ES1 - 111M freezes up again and everything stops and unresponsive.

Pressing FN + F7 to disable trackpad and then turn it back on again sometimes "releases".  A connected USB mouse works fine.

I've updated the BIOS as described in my previous thread, it worked better for a while, then back to freezing again upward.  I tried to update the driver and I even completely reinstalled Windows and factory reset my Acer Aspire, once again, worked great up to a certain point and then just started to freeze again upward.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix this?  Could this be a hardware problems and nothing to do with Windows?  I haven't had the unit for a year.  The problem is that the problem is intermittent and does not always the case so I'm worried don't diagnose and test (in Thailand) Acer support the machine enough and will see it works and assume it is fixed without proper investigation.

Can I try all the other drivers for the trackpad (Windows 8.1) of another Acer model to see if that helps?

Thank you very much - Ian

    Excellent, glad it's working again.

  • TouchSmart HP ENVY 17-j005ea: Factory Reset how long normally take...?

    Hi all.

I bought this laptop in 2012 and now it's time to say goodbye to the laptop because I just bought a Pro 3 of Microsoft Surface and flashes of light. Then it is time to back the laptop to factory settings, and I already have an interested buyer. But... I wonder about the time scale of the factory reset. This notebook 2 x 1 TB HDD I estimate about 4 - 5 hours, eventually 5.5hrs to complete a factory reset ready for the new user.

Which is just that I have not run before...?

    I thank in advance.
