Equium A200-1v0 - HARD drive not recognized OS install

Hello

I'm looking to rebuild a laptop A200-1v0 but the toshiba hd I use seems not to be recognized.

Are the drivers to drive hard toshiba not normally seen by win xp installations. ??

Thank you

Hello

You need to include the SATA drivers which is part of the Intel storage Manger.

Take a look at this thread:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=163165&

or search this forum for instruction AHCI SATA drivers, etc.
There are a lot of discussions on this subject.

Could someone please help as I have tried everything I think and had no joy at all!

    Thank you

    Keith

You can use nLite software to create a new XP CD and include drivers SATA (Intel Storage Manager) on this new CD of XP.
The nLite is a freeware software and you can find and download from many Web sites.

    Google is the key ;)

  • Re: Equium A200-1V0: hard drives

Can someone tell me if there is a simple way to "bind" the two hard drives so that when the "C" drive fills up the brain of the laptop starts automatically data dumping in the drive "E"?

In my opinion these things (if possible) should be controlled by software and operating system itself.
So it's the right question for Microsoft and I don't think that the laptop manufacturers have something to do with it.

Have you tried to find something on the forums Microsoft OS?

I have a hitachi lifestudio external hard drive and it works great 50% of the time... the other 50%, I fight because it not being recognized on my computer or laptop (both vista).  I plugged it to my computer now and it will only recognize the player but is not the one with my files that I need.  I have two USB cords connected and it was working fine yesterday!  Now all of a sudden it won't work at all.  I got and rehooked many times now and still nothing.  Other USB ports are filled with our wireless mouse and others.  Is there a way to force vista to recognize something?

    Hello

    ·          Were there any changes made to your computer before this problem?

Step 1: Try running Microsoft fix it in the following article:

    Reference: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/hardware_device_problems

    See also: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Tips-for-solving-problems-with-USB-devices

Step 2: Check if the external drive is getting detected in disk management.

If the hard drive is recognized in disk management and if there is no letter assigned drive, I suggest you make a right click on the drive and assign a drive letter and check to see if it helps:

  • Satellite A200 - hard drive not recognized

    Hello. Deploy a satellite A200.

Original problem would not initialize only power light and hard drive light came on a second, nothing on the screen, not access to the parameters of F2. Reinstall memory, no go, deleted the test and drive hard and read disc hard ok in an external enclosure. With disk hard deleted computer will start after market boot disk and running program diagnosis ok. Can now access the settings of F2.

Format external hard drive, reinstall and start with the startup disk, hard disk appears in the bios, the test runs diagnostic ok.
Tried to install Windows XP and XP pro and windows twice starts to install and then comes up with an error saying there is no hard drive present, even if the Bios and a diagnostic boot disk at the same time recognize the hard drive.
Tried another hard drive with the same problem, not recognized.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Have you tried to reinstall Windows using the Toshiba Recovery disk? Normally with this record everything should work fine because it s pre-tested and specifically designed for your laptop.
    Check this box!

In the worst cases, your HARD drive is faulty and you need a new. The HARD drive seems to have random failures.

  • Equium - HARD drive not recognized in Windows XP

I replaced the HARD drive in the laptop, because the original had a catastrophic faulure. I replaced the HARD drive correctly (as far as I can see) but when I come to re - install Windows XP HARD drive may not be recognized.

    Any ideas?

    Hi potters.

What model of laptop you have exactly?

It would be important to know because if you have a model that uses SATA hard drives need drivers Intel Storage Manager you can install Windows XP.

But in this case, you should check other forum threads. You will find hundreds of discussions on installing XP on SATA hard drive.

  • Satellite A200-28R - new 500 GB HARD drive not recognized

    Hi all!

The BIOS cannot recognize my new 500 GB SATA HARD drive. When I connect it to the laptop, BIOS says "No device" in the drive options. Tried jumper allows you to change the interface of disc HARD SATA-1, but without effect.
How can I force the BIOS to recognize?

    Toshiba Satellite A200-28R
BIOS version: Phoenix v.2.60 for Vista
HARD drive: Seagate 500 GB 7200 RPM SATA

BTW: my old 250 GB HDD works fine

    Hello

Have you tried the drive in another computer?

Maybe your new drive HARD isn t working properly or defective so use another rnotebook to test it or request a replacement HARD drive.

  • Tecra M9-185 - 750 GB HARD drive not recognized

    I have Tecra M9-185 (PTM91E-0G4045G3) with BIOS Version 1.90 dated the 29.02.2008.
It came with HARD drive of 160 GB, which is quite old and needs replacement. I want to upgrade the HARD drive. I tried to use the 750 GB HARD drive, but it was not recognized by the BIOS.

Is it possible to upgrade the HARD disk? Is there a limit to the ability of the new HARD disk that can be installed?

    Hello

Of course, the HARD drive can be upgraded.
The laptop supports the SATA controller. The SATA controller is not limited to a special HARD drive size of my knowledge. 750Go should be supported too. But it might be possible that the BIOS is not able to manage these dimensions.
Try a different SATA HDD with the smaller size.

But question: why you n t choose an SSD (250 GB)?
I have improved my Tecra A10 with a 250 GB SSD and the performance gain is amazing. The machine is running much faster and quieter

  • External Toshiba HARD drive not recognized on USB 2.0 ports, but only on USB 3.0

    Hello

I have a Toshiba drive external HARD 750 GB USB2.0/USB3.0
Now, this HARD drive is not recognized on USB 2.0 ports from my laptop (same thing on my desktop computer) but only on the USB 3.0 port.

I have try on port USB2.0 computers different (desktop, laptop) but it doesn't work. The LED is the lightning, but the drive does not appear in the file Explorer.

    You have any ideas?

    Thank you

    > Now this HARD drive is not recognized on USB 2.0 ports from my laptop (same thing on my desktop computer) but only on the USB 3.0 port

USB 3.0 port 900mA feeds. The USB 2.0 port common provides 500mA.
I think that the HARD drive needs more 500mA power in order to work properly.

So if you want to use the HARD drive on USB 2.0 ports, I recommend you to use a USB Y cable which allows to connect the HARD drive to two USB 2.0 ports

  • Satellite M70: HARD drive not recognized external - various XP error messages

    Hi all

I have a Satellite M70 and I have a Western Digital external hard drive.
Initially, it worked great, I was able to put my large collection of music, etc. on it and run a computer off to save space on my integrated HD.

But recently I had problems with XP not recognizing HD or be able to write in it. It appears in my computer, then disappear, often randomly when I write new files to it.
I reformatted the hard drive to NTFS as it ran originally as FAT32.

I updated my BIOS as well, but I'm out of ideas.

Anyone else had similar problems with XP?

    Thank you

    Will be

Have you thought about external HARD drive failure?
Perhaps failure of HARD drive and, therefore, it cannot be recognized correctly.

  • Tecra S3 on Linux: hard drive not recognized

    Hello

I recently bought a laptop Toshiba Tecra S3 and I'm happy with it, except for one important thing: I can not install Linux on it.

I tried with the latest versions of Fedora Core and Ubuntu, the hard drive seems to be detected, but it is not recognized at the time of installation. I guess it's a matter of (too) new chipset Serial ATA.

You have any recommendations or do you intend to contribute to the kernel modules in Linux/order that this model could be installed on Linux?

Also note that I remember that I had the same problem when I tried to install Windows XP from a CD (not the recovery cd): the hard drive has not been detected and the installation failed.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I can t believe that you can not install a Windows operating system.
You formatait once again the HARD drive? I recommend to format the HARD drive completely, then install the operating system.
In addition, if you want to use the Windows operating system, you must use the recovery CD because this image included all the necessary drivers.

If you want to work with the Linux operating system, I recommend using the Knoppix distribution. In this case you n t need to install anything. This Linux you can start from the DVD or CD and it works as a Linux operating system normally

  • 3 50 PX1394U external hard drive not recognized

I recently bought the external hard drive, Toshiba PX1394U 3 50. I followed the instructions for the installation and everything went as planned either he found material etc. and returned with the message of successful installation.

However, when I go in my computer that there should be an icon for the external hard drive and it does not exist.

I saw the thread, recommending using REGEN, but this has no effect on the problem - the icon still does not appear in my computer.

I use a laptop computer from a different manufacture running Windows XP and all updates are loaded.

I also had the same problem when loading on my desk.

    Any ideas?

If you get the message installation was successful, you should find the HARD disk in disk management.
Control Panel > administrative tools > computer management > disk management

Maybe you first create a partition or format, but normally you will see players all recognized.

  • Re: Toshiba Store Art Exteranal 320 HARD drive not recognized

    Hello

I have a problem with my 320 GB Toshiba Store Art HDD Exteranal.
I bought it a week ago and everything worked well on different systems: Win 7 (64), Vista (32), XP Pro.
But today when I tried to use it it displays a message that * unrecognized device * and it cannot install the driver for this device.

Unfortunately there are no drivers to download for this device drivers Toshiba page.
I checked it on Win 7 (64) and Vista (32) - same problem.
I remember, the last time that I used it was on XP Pro.

I checked the internet for a solution, but in the end I had to write a message here.

    Hope for more help.

    > I bought a week ago and everything worked well on different systems: Win 7 (64), Vista (32), XP Pro.
    > But today when I tried to use it it displays a message this device not recognized and it cannot install the driver for this device.

If the HARD drive worked perfectly in the past without the use of drivers, then I guess that this has nothing to do with a missing driver.

In your case I would recommend to check and test the HARD disk on another computer/laptop running a Win XP or Vista.

If the drive HARD wouldn't connect and would not be functioning with the help of other computers, then a hardware problem is possible

PS: this external USB hard drives are Plug & Play compatible and so a pilot should not be necessary!

  • Re: Satellite L500 - HARD drive not recognized in BIOS

    Hi guys,.

Yesterday, my mother-in-law has been using his computer and play some games. The computer froze and I had to force a shutdown. Upon restart, the computer continued to give the following message is displayed:
PXE - E61: Media control failure, control cable (or something similar)

I removed the HARD drive and replaced him, with no avail. I checked the BIOS, and the disc HARD is still not save in there, so not sure the hell happened.

Anyone has any ideas on this? I'm looking at a new HARD drive otherwise.

    See you soon,.

    Nathan.

    Hey,.

If the HARD drive is not recognized in the BIOS more I think that it s faulty and you need a new. This is the reason why you get up a PXE boot message initially.

Is your laptop still under warranty? Then you can get a new HDD to an authorized service provider for free.
Otherwise, you can buy yourself but it s not expensive. You can use each interface SATA 2.5 HARD drive.

  • 2nd hard drive not recognized

I have maybe over my head.  I have a HP p6680t, Windows 7, with an original hard drive 1 TB Samsung.  I recently got a 2 TB WD harddrive and installed in the port 1 (original in port 0).   Everything turned on, successfully, loaded the driver automatically but found no new disk in 'computer '.  Intel 'Rapid Storage Technology' found the new HDD and asked if I wanted to use as RAID1 with success.   I said yes.  He said that having created successfully the image after 3 hours.  Today, however, I like to use not as the RAID, but as an additional drive.  How he recognized by Windows?

    Hello

First thing to do is update the TSRI softwarefrom the Intel site. Then, use a third-party imaging product to take a full backup image of the Array volume.  The TSRI Intel allows to check that you have only one volume of table with two hard drives. Now use TSRI to reset to normal table.
