  Looking to upgrade my Pentium 4 3.06GHz Equium A60-157 a bit then got a new module of 1024 MB of RAM, but now really to upgrade my 40 gb HDD to go with. I found all the specifications of the type of HARD drive, I need, but may not know what the maximum size of the disk, it is that the BIOS will recognize.   Most portable smanufactured in the last 5 years or so are able to accept larger hard drive capacity without problem. I am currently using a 80 GB drive in an old SA30 of three years. I can't guarantee a 120 GB drive will work, but I see no reason why it wouldn't.

  Hi all

  I an Equium A60-155, which was set up a few times (some with DVD original recovery and a few with the Windows XP Pro CD standard), but has still a problem persistent... whenever the unit to standby and then brought out of standby, it fires upward, but with a black screen and no response from the keyboard. The only way to get into Windows is turned off manually and restart normally.

  Someone else had this problem or a solution? I think it might actually be the hardware at fault because he had so many different re - installed.

• Cannot install XP OS on my Equium A60-155

  Hello guys,.

  I had a laptop series Equium A60-155 about 3 years old worked when I used last and it was about 2-3 months ago. I turn on the laptop yesterday into the to use and she charged up to the logo then no activity on the display showed after that.

  I formatted the laptop with Windows XP Home edition disc and then tried to install Windows XP Home edition, but it keeps stopping at 53% in the installation process.

  I went to a technician, and his suggestions were:
  -Possible overheating,
  -Damaged, hard drive

  -Damaged the motherboard or,
  -damaged band memory.

  can anyone help please. I have an Equium A60-155 dead (PSA67E-00300C8J).

• Equium A60-155: can't access CD/DVD drive

  I own an Equium A60-155 with an extra 512MB memory installed. My problem is with the carpet * a DVD Super - multi Drive.

• My opinion on the Toshiba Equium A60-155

  I've had an Equium A60 - 155 during almost a year now and I'm quite impressed by it. For £730 I paid for it, not worth it.

  I had to increase the ram with another stick 512 for another £60 as the laptop does not work even with the standard 192. By that, I mean system breaks down, abnormal system responses, spontaneous reboots, system files/missing features, anti-virus program, just basically a machine unreliable, unusable failures.

  I will say that now the extra ram is installed, the software is more stable and most previous problems disappeared. But Toshiba is expected to have delivered it with 512 MB in the first place!

  And the battery on this is terrible! There is barely even a laptop! On a good day with battery all the saving settings on max I get about 50 minutes of it--and Yes, a year ago, when it was new, it would last together 30 more minutes at about 1:20. At the point where the thing was started in Windows and you install to work, it is for food then you might as well forget about asking him and always run from the network.

  How Toshiba charge that kind of money for a laptop that has this kind of performance? There is nothing on the laptop that can justify this money... the graphics card? Average. The processor? Make sure you have XP installed with all the latest service packs for updates also updates BIOS (there has been 3 since I bought my A60-181) and if you want to try a different operating system to install Linux or use a distribution like Knoppix bootable CD.

  I agree with you and think that 120 GB should be recognized correctly. It is not easy to say what the problem is here. BIOPS value default settings and check again. If the same problem persists, try using a different HDD with 80 or 100 GB to see if any of them will be recognized correctly.
