I would like to just get back to 'normal' mode to check spelling before you send it without the strange access to MS Pic?!

I believe that the Association is messed up but do not know how to fix

Thank you

PS - Here's the msimn.exe version: 6.0.2900.5512

I was not able to find something new.

  • What spell do you use? (OE has its own).
  • Spell check only causes this, or pressing on send do as well?
  • The only way to reinstall OE is to reinstall XP, because it is a part of it.

Try in a new identity. File | Identity | Add the new identity. Create a new one and try it. If all goes well, you can import your messages and address book from the old identity and delete it.

Note: Do not use the main word in the name of the new identity.

  • No e-mail error with Outlook Express and Verizon Droid hotspot sending phone

Outlook Express using only email for years with dialup... no problem.  Now, using verizon droid phone hotspot to access the internet and can not send emails (can receive throughout the day). Help Verizon sent me say here that it is a question of Microsoft based on Error 0x800CCC0E.  Here is my error message: the connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.triton.net', server: 'mail.triton.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 10054, error number: 0x800CCC0E.

That's my next step, I guess.  If I can get a fix, I'll post.  I think I should just switch to web e-mail and say the hell with it as the hotspot works awsome for web browsing... may be the easiest option in the long term.  Thanks for your help so far, Bruce

  • go to windows live but continue to receive error in outlook express messages

Outlook express 6 does not work anymore so I went to windows live mail, but I keep getting error messages re; Outlook express, even if I do not use it. How can I get rid of error messages?

You are welcome. If you ever want difficulty OE, you need not to be able to access first.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

The path to the message will be very similar to this:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User of utilisateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {long string of letters & numbers} \Microsoft\Outlook Express

Simply deleting Folders.dbx and OE should open after that.

He reads the host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please check that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'POP3', server: ' SMPT', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 11001, error number: 0x800CCC0D

  • Lost in Outlook Express - trying to retrieve missing files

    Hello-

I hope someone can help me. Our desktop computer crashed, so rather that investing in a new system, we decided to use our working laptop and bought a box for the drive of the old computer motherboard, because that had not been affected. It now shows up as drive F when we plugged him (as an external drive). I'm recovering Outlook Express FOLDERS that I created on my desktop. I have spent countless hours trying to do this and can't seem to get it. We have used Outlook Express on your old computer, with COX as our email service provider and try even with that. I managed to install our identities without any problem, I can't do the next step that retrieves my old emails, including those appearing in some files I had created and had created some including Outlook Express.

Basically, I need to find the files in the folders on drive F (old hard drive) and copy them into my Outlook Express courses. I'm puzzled. I really need to find someone's address and it's the only place where I got it.

Any suggestion or help would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thank you

    Audrey

You are in the Vista Networking newsgroup. On the current computer are you using Vista? If you are, you do not use Outlook Express. Please provide details.

How did you create records OE on the desktop? They contain messages, (eml files), or store the message dbx files? If dbx files, don't you include folders, dbx?

If necessary, can you still see the OE message store on the HARD drive old? It is the way, but do not have something else to see if you can find it.

• "server not found" error in outlook express when you try to send an e-mail

    Outlook Express problems

When I sent a simple e-mail with pictures attached, I received an error box.  I get the same thing when I try to a business information by email.  The "error" box mentions Outlook Express with a lot of other jargin that I don't understand.  Help!

Your first message says the error message mentions Outlook Express, but the error message you provided did not mention the OE.

You also ask a question from Outlook Express in a forum of Win7 and OE last used in XP.

Please forgive my error in interpretation of your question because it is a little confusing.

    So..................

    1. What version of Windows are you using?
    2. What email program are you using?
    3. Who is your mail server?
  • I get the following error in Outlook Express when using SSL

"You are connected to the server using a security certificate that could not be verified."

The certificate CN name does not match the passed value.

You want to continue using this server? »

    Y/N

If I say 'Yes', everything works fine, I can receive and send e-mails.
I use windows XP with Outlook Express 6 (6.00.2900.5512).

I have an e-mail address that ends with @yahoo.ie
Incoming mail server is set to pop.mail.yahoo.ie and smtp.mail.yahoo.ie free
SSL is the required value for 465 leaving and entering 995.

What could be the problem and the solution?

    Kind regards
    Kiran.

Just a minor correction.  To use Internet Explorer or control panel | Internet options.  He can't go to tools | Internet in OE options.

    Hi desertcanndie,

Follow the steps in the article.

Spelling checker does not work on the message in Outlook Express 5

You no longer have the correction spell checking capabilities in some languages in Outlook Express 6.0 after you install the Microsoft Office 2007 or Office 2010 system

  • How can I remove an old error in Outlook Express

About two years ago, I tried to send a message to france for a friend, but the address was wrong and I got an error message. This message still comes up whenever I try to send E-mails. can anyone suggest how to get rid of permanently?

Go to your Inbox, send and view | Current view | Show all messages and you should see the message there and you can delete it.  If this isn't the case, then delete file closed (hidden) outbox.dbx with OE and OE will make a new.
