  Do you by chance have Google Desktop? Some users have reported interference problems in Winodws 7 while using an older version of Google Desktop.
  Try to uninstall it if it exists.

  I tried all the troubleshooting steps below and still no luck. I installed some other updates, today, August 19, 2011.

  I get error Code 66A when trying to install the update of security KB2446708. I'm running Vista 32 bit with Service Pack 2 security update according to the status of safety program area. Any help would be much appreciated!

  By searching on the site of TurboTax, I found a solution for the error message that you have already tried as you mentioned.

  I suggest that you download and install the utility windows install cleanup then start the cleaning utility in the start menu and then to delete the entries for the software, and then restart the computer for the changes to take effect and now try to reinstall the software and check.
