• Where can I get a list of the error codes for InDesign server

  I use InDesign server to the process that a lot of jobs and could not find a list of error codes generated by InDesign Server. Specifically, I'm looking for error codes generated in cases where the InDesign customer seem to have made a mistake. To give an analogy, the Apache HTTP Server generates class 4xx Code of the status each time the client seems to have erred. Is there a list of error codes similar for InDesign server.

  For example:, I wrote a work to convert .indd idml files and voluntarily gave a corrupt .indd file to convert. I got the following response code.

  Error code: 29441

  Error message: could not open the file "corrupt_file.indd". Adobe InDesign Server can not supported file format, a plug-in that supports the file format is may be missing, or the file may be open in another application.

  I couldn't find a reference to the error code 29441 in the Adobe documentation. All leads or references?

  Problem solved by renaming the folder SavedData. He created autmaitcally one again and error message missing.

  You must install the Adobe programs since the original installation programs. Never migrate from a backup.

  Activation Adobe should detect a computer when the material has not been changed.

  If this isn't the case, you must contact Adobe support.

  Today I came across a really annoying problem, I have all the files open in indesign cc 2014 comes up with the error code 4

  SOM of the documents have no relation to each other, some are even months. and it gives same error code no idea what to do here.

  so I did a test document in CS6 and tried to open it incs6 after I tried in indesign cc 2014

  I have exactly the same problem as Henrik.  All files created in 2014 CC or CS6 InDesign do not now open in 2014 of CC.  Same (4) error code.  Some files have been created in the past few months, while another was created only yesterday.  I can't open all the files.  InDesign CC 2014 has installed updates.  Any ideas?

• InDesign error code: 5 - on Windows Server or Qnap

  We continue to receive mean error code: 5 problems of corruption with our CC InDesign files on our corporate network. It doesn't seem like there is a work beyond obvious autour back manually before opening a file.

  The behavioiur arrives on a variety of machines, always when you save the file (although corruption is not apparent, until you try to open the file again with the same or another machine).

  Longer with the OS X Mavericks machines on Windows file sharing, but also arises on the rapid sharing of Qnap, (SSD and a dual Gbit ethernet, versus 7200 RPM drives and a single Gbit ethernet link).

  All Gbit links with CAT6 network cabling. It's an Active Directory environment.

  At this point, it is either Active Directory that throws the questions or it is from InDesign. Any other type of file were corrupted never well!

  Don't think it's OS X - although I have observed only corruption happening once (and I'm not 100% sure of the observation) with one of our machines Windows 8.

  So we fixed that in our environment. I suspect it's a combination of things.

  I have about 200 other InDesign documents that use this script and except two they all work. I can confirm that this file exists, it is not used by another application (the only application that accesses it and use it on this computer is InDesign Server) and the permissions are the same as all the other InDesign files that are on the box.

  What else could cause this error?

  The error number is the constant internal C++ named 'kFileDoesNotExistError '.

  You should be able to the single step even on InDesign Server using ExtendScript Toolkit.

  Even without a bit of output to the log file should show you the statement of the exact problem.

  When you wrap with try / catch, you can (or not) find more information in the exception object.

  Browse all properties by using something like the code below.

  Of course, of $.writeln only makes sense with a debugger ESTK, otherwise you'll be wasting just of cycles CPU.

  Note that the problem may not be in the indd file - for example have you checked all images href attributes in the XML?

  I am totally frustrated with Adobe Indesign for the past year. I had this problem on my Intel Mac IMac for a year. Save the Indesign document to my internal desktop hard drive. 80% on the book that I got back to my office attempted to open the Indesign file in my internal hard drive and bang Code error 5. Now Indesign technician that had me on the phone for hours Wednesday, said the solution was to save my Indesign file inside my hard drive of the computer. More Indesign CS4 on Mac computer using external drives have a problem with external drives manages various number of high-resolution files. To make sure it wasn't a problem, I kept my images high resolution on an external drive connected to my desktop PC resizing each picture to the size I used in the book, I've been designing in Indesign. So no links to 8 x 10 inch only images that were 3.x4 in the book. I have resized each image in the book of photoshop for the size I put on the scale the image of indesign. Link again the image resize and save my Indesign Indd file inside my hard drive internal.

  I call Adobe Tuesday raising hell because it now hurt very badly for my business. I can't keep a dead line or keep asking over and over again the same book. I even spoil a big job for a customer, due to save me an INDD file anywhere on my external drives 6. Updated these discs whenever I would like to make a correction. See all these copies and I thought that the copy that I was in charge of the printer was one of the copies I had updated.

Yet, when you're working on a big project for months and then get error code 5 on all your copies saved of the same indesign document on all your external drives.
