  Restarted the laptop to finish installing a new update for itunes and other apple products. Has been sent to a blue screen at startup which said:

  This application has failed to start because ADVAPI32.dll is not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
  Have tried rebooting in safe mode options, tried to fix the problem and I tried to debug only to be sent back to this screen each time.
  Do not have a boot drive for the Vista operating system.

  I had the code in the target fields as well as the button trying to change color of font, based on imported figures.  I deleted the code in the target areas and leave the code in the button field and everything worked right.

  Whenever one of my colleagues opens the Adobe Media Encoder, it loads the start screen for the SOUL, but then we get the following:

  b. Select safe mode from the list and press ENTER.

  Since the fdisk-l to output provided, its clear that the 2nd partition is missing. The 2nd parition in ESXi Installable is the partition scratch (FAT16 file system), which is by default to 4 GB. During the upgrade the parition is resized to scrape (about 150 MB of space is used 4 GB) to extend the bootbanks of 49 MB to 256 MB.

  I don't know the exact reason why the partition scratch missing here since it is generally created during the default installation. One possibility could be that there was a parition scratch already available on a secondary drive during installation and setup it has not created on the primary drive.

  A standard partition for ESXi 3.5 with partition table scratch would look something like the following...
