  Try the following:

  Check the connection settings:

  Apply the changes, quit Internet Explorer and try Windows Update again.

  Error 0x80072F78 is usually caused by the proxy or the firewall is not blocking issues.

  Can we try without going through the proxy server to eliminate this possibility?
