Error in step 1... Wizard cannot edit this MSI package

Using the Adobe Customization Wizard, when I choose the file > copy the package and enter in the appropriate fields, I get this error at the end:

Untitled.jpg

And although it seems, it copies the package to the location I specified, I can't open it (I get the same msg).  The permissions are ok on this file and it also happens if I try to do locally on my computer (as opposed to a network location).  Using Win7 as my operating system.  Anyone have any ideas?

There are 3 possibilities:

  • You try to open an MSI product that is not supported. The Wizard verifies a signature based on a GUID in the property table: the target product must have the property of signature required major version expected in the GUID value.
  • You use elements of Acrobat that is not supported by the wizard.
  • Versions of the product Acrobat and Assistant are not identical. For example, the only usable with 9.x products Assistant 9.

  • Error Message - Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection

I received the following message when trying to play a DVD:Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD drive decoder and video card protection. Try to install a driver available for your video card. I'm confused that nothing has been changed, added, or updated my system up-to-date. I am running Windows 7 Premium home 64-bit edition. DVD plays fine on my laptop with the same operating system.

    CORRECTION OF THE PROBLEM.

I can confirm that it is a matter of the DVD CSS protection. MediaPlayer, being unable to decrypt the DVD protection.

Googled around for "DVD43". The installation program will install a driver that will successfully decrypt DVD protection and will allow you to PLAY the DVD MOVIE ONCE AGAIN!

Well, that's an alternative. All what I can say is that Microsoft Media Player is broken!

  • "Cannot open this installation package.

Some time ago I found it necessary to re - install windows using the recovery discs, I had created when the computer was nine (last winter). Since recovering, I have bad to fix some of the software packages that I had run previously. Some problems have been addressed by software publishers and others that I experienced just without. Among the specific programs that I could not install are; odmediaconsolesetup, LS_Update_1.18.18.1_.exe and AdbeRd_US.exe. When I try to install I get a message "this installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package. ' The Overdrive media and Acrobat Reader packages had both installed without problem when the computer was new. The Lightscribe update is new. The computer is an HP model e9260f running Win 7 64 bit.

    Hi auldgeordie,

You have downloaded such software after the recovery, or they have already downloaded?

It is possible that Windows install has been corrupted somehow. I suggest to unregister Windows Installer, then re-register Windows Installer and check if that helps. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. on the ""Start " menu, click on"run:

    b. in the ""Open " box, type"msiexec /unreg"and press ENTER."

"c. on the" "Start" menu, click on "run".

    d. in the ""Open " box, type"msiexec/regserver"and press ENTER."

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

  • ThinApp 4.6 cannot generate the msi package

ThinApp 4.6 question, I can't undestand why, but I am unable to create the .msi package. The error comes at the end of the phase of construction for any application! no problem with 4.5, but you now I need the functionality of Streaming... so I'm stuck.

creating the file .exe like no problem, but the creation of the .msi fails with the error "cannot find destination path /bin/whatever.msi" (and the .msi file created is obviously unusable)

    Any suggestions?

  • Reopen the period AP with APP-SQLAP-10363 error: you cannot reopen this period because the corresponding period to the Oracle GL or PO is not open

    Hi all

I have a question about the period of reopening AP with error APP-SQLAP-10363: you cannot reopen this period because the corresponding period to the Oracle GL or PO is not open.

I checked the implementation of Oracle Payables Guide ,

documented that you can reopen a closed period if the corresponding accounting and buying periods are also open.

The user do not purchase Module install, if not show the error, right? Or what other pupup notification to the user?

    Thank you

    Michelle

    Hi Michelle,

The code (apxsumps.fmb) checks if the State of closure in GL and PO are 'C' or 'P' for the period to be reopened. If the purchase is not installed and not used, then this query should return no rows and not cause this error.

  • Password reset disk error - "year error occurred while the wizard attempted to set the password for this user account.

    Hello!

-A bit of background: the desktop PC that I use is Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, with active user accounts total five. I have my own account, and I can access the computer through (or through account from my brother, because I know its password).--

I had this problem recently came where the administrator password (that I know for a long time and never changed) no longer works. So, after some research, I created a reset password on a USB disk, that I found in my house. I managed to create the disc, but when I tried to put the new password, I got the message error "an error occurred while the wizard attempted to set the password for this user account', which I must say is not very clear. I found a few methods of force - reset the password for the account of the admin, as using a sort of Windows Vista DVD or go to Safe Mode to find the hidden administrator account... but I have no idea what this DVD is or where to find, and in Safe Mode, there is no account user administrator to be seen. I believe that my machine is corrupted, but I don't want to buy a new. I want just to reset a password...

Any help is appreciated. If I was not specific enough, I can specify in comments.

    Thank you!

    Hello

You must make a password reset disk before that there are problems with a password, not afterwards.

If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.

You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

    • Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
    • Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.
    • Scenario 3: You delete a protected administrator account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.
    • Scenario 4: You change an administrator account protected with a standard user account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
