  • Need to leave the command msg to run without access to the physical machine

OK, here's my problem. I try to get to where we can use the msg command in a local network in Windows 7. The problem is all the time we try, we get the error message 5.

I found the Reg key. AllowRemoteRPC located in HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server should be set to a value of 1. Of course, I can make the change on the spot, but I would like to be able to do it remotely. I did a little experimenting with Powershell, but I prefer the good old "cmd. If someone could help me how to change the key from 0 to 1 using command line of my machine it would be great.

A few things I should mention:

I started playing in the prompt for the last week or two, so my syntax is juvenile

I have domain administrator credentials and can access their machines with those

I am running as an administrator

I psexec, so if you could let me know how it for my own local which machine would be much appreciated as well, that I can use the same commands to change their

The command I'm using is C:\>Reg add 'HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal' /value 0 (locally to change my return of 1) but obviously I do something wrong, I'm not sure of that. Any guidance you could give would be appreciated.

  • Admin has no access to the user account

I have a XP Pro computer where a user profile directory has no access at all to administrators: only for himself and system.

Is this normal and supported? How can this be achieved?

When I create a new account on this computer, the profile directory allows access to administrators.

The problem is that I want to use some backup software that runs as administrator, so that it cannot properly access the user's data.

NT Backup of the Microsoft can save everything without problems.

I would so understand, I can ask the author of said software to backup to fix, or my setup is weird way and is.

    Thank you

    -pa

You could remove rights administrative account to any file or folder on the computer while you could do this for a profile.  If you leave rights system alone, Yes, the built-in backup function still works.

However, anyone with administrative rights could just as easily give themselves rights of return...

  • Get the message: the system administrator has set policies during the uninstall of a program.

    Original title: uninstall error.

How can I uninstall without the system administrator has set policies

    Hi Telowe,

    1 are logged as administrator?

    2. you have more than one administrator account on your computer?

    3. what application you are trying to uninstall?

    4. this happens only with a specific application?

    Method 1:

You can try disabling UAC and check if you are able to uninstall the program. Try the instructions in the following article to disable UAC.
Enable or disable the User Account Control

Note: We do not recommend disable user account control. If you turn it off, you must reactivate as soon as possible.

    Method 2:

You can temporarily disable a security software and firewall installed on the system and check if the problem persists.

Note: Be sure to enable the security software on the computer after checking.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Administrator to deny access to the file

I am running Windows Vista Home Basic with service pack 2.  As an administrator I am frequently refused access to certain folders, e.g., data application.  I thought that the administrator has access to all folders on the computer.  Is this something common to the basic family version?

No, it is new with Vista.  Even administrators do have access to some system, junction points files and folders even in their own profiles to prevent the problems of changes, deletions or additions which might cause problems (and even administrators don't know enough to work safely in these areas).  You can use permissions to work around these problems of access; However, I would just leave them alone because most of the time (except if it is advised by Microsoft Support) there is no reason to be in these places.  It is a big change in XP where access was essentially unlimited, but just adjust in Vista.  It is not only your version but in all versions.

    I hope this helps.
