ERROR: No session file or name of user and password provided
Hey guys,.
I wrote (tried) to create a script that counts my CPU, carrots, son of my vcenter.
I get the following error message "ERROR: no session file or name of user and password provided.
My Code:
#! / usr/bin/perl - w
use warnings;
use VMware::VIRuntime;
use VMware::VILib;
to connect to the server and connection
Util::Connect();
My $cpucount = 0;
My $corecount = 0;
My $threadcount = 0;
Get all the hosts to the group title
My $host_view = Vim::find_entity_views (view_type = & gt; "HostSystem',);
{foreach (@$host_view)}
Print "hostname:", $_ - & gt; name, "\n";
Print "CPUs:", $_ - & gt; hardware - & gt; cpuInfo - & gt; numCpuPackages, "\n";
$cpucount = $cpucount + $_ - & gt; hardware - & gt; cpuInfo - & gt; numCpuPackages;
Print "CPU cores:", $_ - & gt; hardware - & gt; cpuInfo - & gt; numCpuCores, "\n";
$corecount = $corecount + $_ - & gt; hardware - & gt; cpuInfo - & gt; numCpuCores;
Print "CPU Threads:", $_ - & gt; hardware - & gt; cpuInfo - & gt; numCpuThreads, "\n";
$threadcount = $threadcount + $_ - & gt; hardware - & gt; cpuInfo - & gt; numCpuThreads;
Print "\n";
}
Print "Summary: \n";
Print "CPUs:", $cpucount, "\n";
print ' Cores: ", $corecount,"\n ";
Print "Threads:", $threadcount, "\n";
close the connection to the server
Util::Disconnect();
You are missing your credentials section to collect the user name and password and I guess that by default to waiting for you provides a session file that includes the user name and password. Take a look at one of the sample scripts vCLI, you'll want to add the following:
Opts::parse(); Opts::validate(); Util::connect();
This will force the script to validate for - server, - username and password - if you have not already specified.

Hello
I am running vmware Fusion on my mac computer. I created a domain with 2 vm ESXI, VSPHERE client and a DC inside the merger. My mac is not inside the area, but can access the area through clearOS router which is also inside the virtual machine. my mac has IP 192.168.2.x and my management in the 10.0.0.x field segment
When I try to access a virtual machine on my esxi from my mac, I get the error failed to connect to the connection of mks (name of user and password) incorrect. I guess it has something to do with my mac is not in the area, but no idea how I can solve this problem?
Thank you
solved by adding the ip address of my ESXI in my macs hosts file

ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. How to know pwd of orapwd file
Hi, gurus,
I have this error after I copied the orapwd primary db during standby instance files and tried to log in to sys as sysdba:
ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused
Is this means that the sys password I provided is not the generated according to orapwd utility?
However I can log sys/password as sysdba if I put the oracle sid environment than DB.
Someone help here?
Thank you.Only the day before. He needs start on the new password file. So yes, cancel apply on Mt. Eve and stop and start and restart.
The newspapers will catch up without delay.

Hello
I have been using OEM for the monitoring of the database. Recently, I've seen more error on screen
java.lang.Exception: ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused - wait_bottlenecks
So I reset password with the same value to reopen. I still get this error.
When I try to sign in with the same password in sqlplus, I get same error also.
SQL > alter user DBSNMP identified by the values '-';
Modified user.
SQL > connect DBSNMP.
ERROR:
ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused
I don't know why I'm not able to login with the same password I used to change the statement.
Thanks for the help in advance.
Let's not your syntax.
When you say 'identified by values' you tell Oracle 'this is not the password, but it is a salted and hashed password.
Do not use 'values '.
Technically,-is not a password valid, so I'll use it valid to demonstrate:
In 12.1.0.2, it will not allow you to use '-' because this isn't a valid hash value, so I can't prove that it works, but you get the idea

Now, my data load gives me the error that the table W_LANGUAGES_G does not exist. At least I liked long.

ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid when using the TNS Alias
Friends,
I have this strange problem in 11 G R2. When I use tnsalias and connect using sqlplus username/password@TNS it shows ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. But the same works with ORACLE_SID. See below.
My understanding is that both connections use a TNS alias, but then does not work. Any help is appreciated.-bash-3.00$ uname -a SunOS ibs-ash-sr147 5.10 Generic_144489-06 i86pc i386 i86pc -bash-3.00$ env | grep ORACLE ORACLE_SID=DB1 ORACLE_BASE=/project/oracle/orabase ORACLE_HOME=/project/oracle/orabase/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1 -bash-3.00$ tnsping DB TNS Ping Utility for Solaris: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production on 17-JUN-2011 12:23:12 Copyright (c) 1997, 2009, Oracle. What could be wrong...?Try to connect to the database via SQLPlus target using the tnsnames.ora entry: sqlplus bob@remote.
If the target db is 11g, then breaking the password may be the matter. Try placiing the password in quotes when you create the database link.

Name of user and password saved no connection to the server
Only, I've migrated my website from one computer to the other.
The problem:
When I set up the connection to my host, I enter my username and password and check "remember password." It connects and I can edit and upload files. But next time when I go in Dreamweaver and try to download a file changed, I get a name of user and password FTP error. When I change my connection, the user name and password are missing, and I have to re-enter them.
Thanks for any help!
JanetThank you! That solved!

Don't set the sh123456 password. It defines the hash to sh123456. The password is something else.
If you want the password to be sh123456, the command would be
alter user identified by sh123456 Sheriff;

Hello:
I had to change my password for my Oracle DB and now I can't start Vritual Center. The newspaper said:
ODBC error: (28000) - [ODBC] [Ora] ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused
Can you get it someone please let me know where I should change its name to username/password? I use the ODBC for Oracle driver and if I click "test connection" and put manually correct (new) password login will be successful... However, I don't know where I should put for VC service...
Thank you
Olegarr
I found this KB, http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1003928 , it might be useful?

All the
SQL * Developer: 3.0.03 (Build 97-03)
Extention of SVN: 11.1.1.4.37.59.36
This worked well until my SVN password on the repository has changed. Now, every time when I want to perform operations of SVN (requires authentication) I get the error that my name of user and password is incorrect.
My question now is, where do I need to change?
Concerning
OlivierArchimedes
Thanks for the reply.
Also, what worked for me is:
(1) locate your svn cached credentials in the Developer/systemn.n.n.n./o.jdeveloper.subversion.n.n.n.n.n/repository.xml $APPLICATION_DATA_FOLDER%/SQL
(2) rename the repository.xml
(3) Re-create your connection to the repository in SQL * Developer
(4) the repository.xml is re-created with correct credentials
(5) now all the svn operations can be performed.Kind regards
Laura Olivier
