Error opening PDF files from the internet and from outlook 2010

I use Server R2 2012 and you receive an error when you try to open a PDF from Outlook 2010 or when I try to upload a PDF file and open it from the internet. However, if the PDF file is one that opens in the web browser, it works fine. Using IE 11 account has access, I tried with a domain administrator account. Finally, I tried to uninstall and re install with no luck. Any ideas?

I get:

I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and installed Adobe Reader XI and everything works fine. This will be our fix current until a solution is found for the error above

Work does not have PDF files. You need Acrobat Reader or Foxit Reader.

  • Cannot open PDF files in the browser. I tried every fix mentioned and it still does not work!

I have Windows XP. Using firefox as my browser. All of a sudden, I can't open the PDF files in the browser. I tried all the mentioned patches. Nothing works! Check the configuration of the plugin, checked the settings Adobe Reader.

Is the problem that Firefox opens a blank tab, or that it requires you to download the file?

I guess you tried switching spectators between the internal viewer and the Adobe plugin. If this article does not, steps: How to disable the built-in PDF Viewer and use another Viewer. Sometimes behind switching will allow to correct an error in the settings file.

You can rename or delete the settings file that stores these associations and have Firefox regenerate. If the file is corrupt, this could be the only option that works. Here's how:

Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using

Help > troubleshooting information > "view file" button.

Leave this window open, activate any Firefox window and quit the program (for example, the file menu > exit or Firefox menu > Exit)

Pause while Firefox finishing his cleaning, then rename the mimeTypes.rdf to something like mimeTypes.old

Restart Firefox. Your likely PDF preferences will be reset to the internal PDF Viewer, but you can activate the Adobe plugin as described in the above-linked article.

    Any improvement?

  • problem with opening pdf file of the web browser

I have Acrobat Pro ver 6 and Adobe Reader 9.1 on a computer.  When my user tries to open a pdf file from the web as it gets the following error message:

"Adobe Acrobat/Reader that not running to view the PDF files in a WEb browser.  ADBE Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required.  Quit and try again. »

What also happens is that Acrobat Pro 6 worm opens and nothing is there.

I don't know why he received this message from Reader 9.1 is installed.

One can shed some light on this for me.

This user must have Acrobat and Reader on its system.  I understand that there are problems with having both.

It has also set up so that any PDF opens using Reader 9.1.

    Thank you

Configuration of your PC drive by default for embedded PDFs has become confused, because of multiple solutions of Adobe PDF documents installed on a PC.

    Solution 1:

    Go to start > run

Type regedit, and then click OK.

Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe

Make sure that the correct default data value is set to the path where are installed the Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

    The default installation values are:

    "C:\Program 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe Adobe.

    or

"C:\Program Files\adobe\acrobat 6.0\acrobat\Acrobat.exe" (not sure of this path.  Make sure that on your PC)

If Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat is installed.

    Solution 2:

Configure the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application.

If you use Firefox to browse the web, you can change this setting in Firefox by clicking on:

    Tools > Options

    Click on the "Applications" tab

The first item in the list should be "Adobe Acrobat Document".  In the Action list, click the drop-down arrow and select the application you want to read a PDF file in the web browser.  Click OK and you should be done.

If you use Internet Explorer to view a PDF file, try the steps below.

After you configure Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application, the browser starts the helper application in a separate window and displays PDF files within this window. Acrobat and Adobe Reader both include a preference that allows you to specify the Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application.

To configure Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application:
    Start Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
    Choose Edition > Preferences.
    Select Internet on the left.
Deselect Display PDF in browser using [Acrobat application], and then click OK.
    Quit Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
The next time you select a link to a PDF file in the browser, a dialog box asking what you want to do with the file. If you select open, the browser opens the PDF file in Acrobat or Adobe Reader (request for assistance); If you select save it on the disk, the browser saves the PDF file on your hard drive.

  • Problems to open PDF files after the upgrade of the file server for 2012 R2

    Hello

This weekend we have improved our main Windows 2003 to 2012 R2 file server.

Since the upgrade, users (including myself) cannot open a PDF of the file server.  If I double click on a PDF file, it opens as usual, but if I double click a different PDF, the acrobat reader flashes (in the Task Manager I can see another instance AcroRd32.exe starts and stops) but the second document does not open.

If I close the first document and then try and open the other, and then it opens without any problem.

This only affected the opening of files on the new file server, opening several files on a local disk is very good.

If I disable 'enable protected mode at startup' then I can open several documents of the file server.  I would prefer not to have to do.

Users are using Acrobat Reader 11.0.10 on 64-bit Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop.

Does anyone have any ideas, it may be the cause?  And does anyone have one solution other than to disable the protected mode?

    Thank you

    Joe

    Help, please...

    Hi Avinash,

It seems that the computer is infected by virus or possibly the user account is corrupted. I suggest you try the following steps to refine the question:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists, to do this, follow these steps:

Access the menu advanced startup options by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before Windows starts. Advanced startup options menu select SafeMode with networking

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

    If the problem persists,

Step 2: Check with a different user profile

If you do not have a different user account, you will need to create a (see link below).  If everything works fine with a different user profile, you can infer that the user profile is damaged, click on the link to find out how to solve this problem.

  • Opening PDF files on the only current desktop (Mac)

Is there a way to configure Adobe Reader DC such opening PDF documents only on the current desktop of OS X (10.10.5) I'm on?  For example, I have 2 separate projects that I work on each with a set of PDF files.  Project A is desktop 1 and B project on desktop 2.  I open a PDF file in 1 Project Office.  Then I switch to Desktop 2 and open a different PDF it.  The default action, Adobe Reader DC done is open the 2nd PDF as a tab on the window of Adobe Reader DC of the office 1, with a tab next to the PDF of the project.  What I would like is for Adobe Reader open the PDF of the project B on Desktop 2 (or any desktop computer, it's on) and NOT on the (pre-existing) window on desktop 1.  The version of Adobe Reader would open a new window for each PDF file to the desktop, I was on and not switch to a window of Adobe Reader already existing (and open).  How to get an Adobe Reader DC back to the same behavior as in Adobe Reader 11 short demotion to Adobe Reader 11?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi vladimirk97544013,

Would request you to please try this:-Acrobat Reader > Preferences > General > under Basic tools uncheck the option for "Documents open as tabs in the same window.

Then click OK, quit the application and then restart it.

I would like to know if it works.

    Kind regards

  • Error opening PDF downloaded from interactive report

Hi - I get an error when opening a PDF file that is downloaded from an interactive report.
I saw on the forum that it could be linked to the size of the file, but I tried
this out on 10-line results (1 k files) and it's always a problem.

I save the file to my file system. If I try to open it in Adobe Reader, I get:

File does not begin with '% PDF -'

    and

Adobe Reader could not open < Filename > .pdf because it is not supported
type of file, either because the file has been damaged (for example, he was sent as an email
attachment and has not been correctly decoded).

If I try to open in Internet Explorer, I get:

File does not begin with '% PDF -'

Other users have experienced the same problem. Download in csv format and open in Excel work very well.

Do I need to have a special print attributes for this? I don't think... I'm just using the default values
(response header = report parameters, header content-disposition is attachment).

    Ideas?

    Thank you
    Carol

You have a print server configuration for your reports? (FOP, Cocoon, BI Publisher)?

  • Error opening pdf file, but then it still opens

I have problems when I open a pdf file. I use the code below to open a pdf file.

    on mouseUp me
    Acro = bafindapp ("pdf")
    If acro = empty then
    acrofile = me.pPDF
alert 'this program was unable to find suitable for your system software to open a PDF document. It will open www.adobe.com, where you can download a free viewer.
    goToNetPage " " http://www.Adobe.com "

    on the other
Open the moviePath me.pPDF & "Resource\" with acro
    end if

    end

When it comes on a button, adobe reader software will open, but gives an error stating that "there was an error opening this document. This file is not found. »

When I hit the button on the advice of the error, the PDF opens.

No idea why I get this message even if the pdf file opens after rejecting the message would be appreciated.

The reason why I assumed, or asked, if it was only Windows is due to your use of the forward slash as the separator file. To make the cross-platform script try the following:

on mouseUp me acro = baFindApp("pdf") if ( acro = EMPTY ) then alert "This program was unable to find a suitable program on your system to open a PDF document. It will open www.adobe.com, where you can download a free viewer" goToNetPage "http://www.adobe.com" else mPath = _movie.path tFile = mPath & "Resource" & mPath.char[length(mPath)] & me.pPDF if baFileExists(tFile) then OK = baOpenFile(tFile, "normal") if ( OK < 32 ) then -- see docs for numbers and their meaning alert "Error opening file:" && OK end if else alert "File not found:" &RETURN& tFile end if end ifend

  • DC:title in PDF file from Word 2010 - where it comes from?

Hi, I have Office 2010 and Acrobat X Pro (all to date) and creates a PDF from within Word using PDFMaker 10.1.

In the file PDF resulting, the properties of the Document shows in the Description of a title: the "mandate", that is not anywhere in the Word file, or what I see everywhere in its metadata.

By going in... and then advanced, additional metadata in the PDF file, I see that the element of Dublin Core Properties dc:title has 'Mandate' as the value for [x-default].

My question is where this value comes from? It's somewhere in the Word doc or somewhere in my system?

And how do I get it so that the title of the Word document is put there?

All advice and assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks and all the best, JP

If you save in Adobe PDF format and that you have the option "convert document information' checked in the PDFMaker settings dialog box, then the metadata for the PDF file reflect what the word was defined in the document properties panel (via the menu prepare or right click on a file in Windows Explorer, then select Properties > summary). If you uncheck the option to convert the information in document, PDFMaker leave any empty apart from the basics (creation of ID software, dates, etc.).

Print format PDF is a slightly different question, in this case, the title of the PDF is generated using the file name and the application that started the print job.
