Error when I launch Photoshop "monitor profile appears defective".

In recent weeks, I got a popup error message when I open Photoshop that says:

"DELL E22IOH G2.2 D65" seems to be defective. Please restart your monitor calibration software.

If I choose the option IGNORE I can go into Photoshop without error. BUT, if I choose to USE ANYWAY I go into Photoshop and the colors are disabled. There is no more white (it is not a pale yellowish color).

I have not modified settings in my Photoshop recently (why tinker with something when he broke not?). However, this error message does not go away and would like to correct this problem. Someone at - it already known this before? I googled the problem and saw so-called solutions weird but thought that I would go to the pro to get an answer that I can trust.

If it's important, I use Windows XP.

Thank you

I don't know if the system lists the folders under the main folder of color, but I doubt it.  Create a folder called disabled or defective or something, move E2210H. ICM inside, and reboot.

Expects that your system will return to associate the sRGB color profile of the monitor default, and that should be acceptable to Photoshop.

  • Error message - monitor profile appears to be defective

    Hello world

    I recently bought a Samsung U32D970 (4 k, Adobe RGB). It comes with a monitor profile (U32D970Q - Adobe.icm) that I have configured in Windows Color Management (it's on Windows 7, 64-bit).

Whenever I start Photoshop (SC 6 or more recent CC) I get a message that the monitor profile seems to be faulty (the English text might be different, I use a German version).

When I put "AdobeRGB1998.icm" as the Photoshop color profile starts very well.

I asked Samsung on the profile, they say they have tested and it was fine. I also used "ICCProfileInspector" to take a look on the profile and produces no error message.

The fundamental difference between the two profiles is a tag called bkpt (blackpoint) that is present in the profile standard and lacking in the monitor profile.

There are individual differences in profile settings, so I would use one made for the monitor.

Anyone any idea on how to make it work? And Photoshop is according to the bkpt tag is the reason for the error message?

    Thank you!

And again, I think that a huge monitor producer that Samsung should know how to put in place a correct profile!

Yes, they should, but they don't. It's a huge problem, because these profiles are shipped via Windows Update, so people don't know what hit them. Dell, Asus, Acer, LG - they all make from time to time.

As for which calibrator, the i1 Display Pro (about $220) is generally regarded as the best and the most accurate market sensor. The ColorMunki Display, little cheaper, essentially uses the same sensor, with a little crippled software. It should do very well however.

The Spyder is not as bad as their reputation (a reputation they have acquired a few years ago and was then justified)-, but still the products x-rite must be a safer bet.

  • CC - 10 Windows Photoshop: The monitor profile is defective

Yes so it's my fellow... 100th post in 2 hours, I'm sorry if I'm spamming the forums today but when I think I have fixed this problem I don't have.

"" So the other day, ran Photoshop and had the "Monitor"BenQ RL2455 ' profile seems to be defective, please run calibration software, etc. etc. Now, for some reason this problem only happens after I installed windows 10 and does not extend to any of my other art programs.

This pic is an example of this:a72c5def93.jpg

For some reason any PS, he seems to think that whatever it is with a black background turns a darker violet blues but when I view it in paint tool sai, there is almost no problem what so ever:2826268781.jpg

Anyone able to help a frustrated student animation here? Fortunately im on break, so this couldn't have come at a better time * cough * sarcasm * cough *, just would like to get this resolved as soon as POSSIBLE, so I can return to work. Honestly, it's a very strong BONE, but this issue is really makes me mental.

Im running off a BenQ RL2455 with a Nvidia GTX960. I use two monitors, but my left one (that I listed) is my primary monitor.

You most likely had a defective profile installed via Windows Update. The next time he gets up, disable this particular update, and it will not be displayed again.

Manufacturer profiles are surprisingly often broken. Why they can't do things is a mystery, but it happens a lot especially with the BenQ, Samsung, LG, Asus, and a few others.

The real solution is to make a new monitor profile customized with a Stallion like an i1, ColorMunki, etc. of Spyder. If you do not, then replace the profile broke with sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1. It is usually close enough. Do not know Windows 10, but if there is a control panel > color management dialog box, here's how:

Restart Photoshop when done so it can load the new profile at startup.

You will see this in Photoshop, because PS is the color management and use the profile when displaying. Many the most other applications are not and simply ignore the profile of anyway, so they are not affected.

  • Monitor profile is defective

Whenever I turn on CS5, I get an error:

"The monitor"Samsung - Natural Color Pro 1.0 ICM"profile seems to be defective. Please restart your monitor calibration software.

No other application don't complain about this.

The screen is a Samsung SyncMaster 226CW

If I go... Control panels-color management

I see that there is a profile "Samsung Natural Color Pro 1.0 ICM (by default) of the SM226CWicm file

It is the ONLY listed profile.

According to a previous post here... I followed the advice to remove the profile...

I remove... I'm invited to choose a new profile... .to from the list displayed there are the "Samsung natural color Pro 1.0 ICM".

    I select this one.

So the next time I start CS... same error message again.

    How can I fix it?

Before you delete the profile, click the add lower-left button and scroll down a little ways choose the one with the name: IEC6196602.1, filename sRGB: sRGB Color Space Profile.icm

Then remove the Samsung profile sRGB profile and select set as default.

  • Photoshop CS5 always chooses the wrong monitor in dual monitor profile?

The folklore is that if you go to EDIT/COLOR SETTINGS and open space RGB Working drop down, and then up on the "Monitor RGB" line in what he says is the profile monitor that photoshop is actually to aid.

If that's true, then I expect if I run photoshop on my monitor 1 he would show the monitor 1 profile, and if I have PS on Monitor 2 it would show the 2 monitor profile. But in fact, it always shows the monitor profile 1. Naturally, this creates anxiety that PS uses the wrong profile to display my images, because I normally work with the image on the screen 2.

My configuration: Windows 7 64-bit, PS 12.0.1 x 64. Matrox M9120 graphics card drive two monitors. MANAGEMENT of Windows CONTROL COLOR/PANEL displays a different profile active on each monitor.

(By running photoshop on a particular monitor, I want to say I run photoshop, drag mode non-plein screen on the desired monitor and close it.) Then I run it again and it starts on this screen (including the start screen)).

What photographers want to know, that's exactly what photoshop monitor profile used when displaying an image? Where is the answer to this question please?

The profile associated with this display in the settings of the operating system.

Photoshop DO fixes for each display separately, using the profiles associated with each screen and correction the same for images that run through several screens.  If you move the window, Photoshop updates the values of color accordingly.  He has done that since Photoshop 5.0.

I get a fatal error when ot installing Photoshop on creative cloud?

    Hi Jeff

I am running Windows 7.  I uninstalled previous versions of Adobe and was also their cleanup tool and then I've always had an unrecoverable error report.  Also, I adjusted my firewall settings.  After spending some time with clients, I finally got Photoshop CC installed via the temp folder.

  • I have a configuration error when I try to start Photoshop Elements 10.

I have an error when I run Photoshop Elements 10. The error is 213:19.

This error also occurs when we try to open our other Adobe products, namely the first items 10 and Acrobat Pro 10.

It is said that there is a problem with the license and to restart the computer, but this has no effect.

Has anyone seen this issue or know a solution.

We would also like to know if we can activate products in droves rather than log on to each computer and activate each product individually.

We have quite a few machines that are on.

  • I get this message when you launch the browser in Photoshop CS 3

ps startup message.jpgI just got a new macbook pro that I allocated GB 401 on my bootcamp for windows xp partition, and I put Photoshop CS3 (windows version) on this partition, which about 80-90 GB is used while the rest is space free space. I also put my photo on this partition folders/files, and when I run the Photoshop application, I get this dialog box when I click on 'File' > 'Browse' (see image).

When I launched photoshop on my old laptop (HP Compaq Presario X 6000 running Windows XP) I've never had this kind of message - is something wrong

How can I do if I don't get this message?

Here are the specs of my macbook pro:

    Model name: MacBook Pro

    Model identifier: MacBook Pro5, 3

Processor name: Intel Core 2 Duo

    Processor speed: 3.06 GHz

    Number of processors: 1

    Total number of cores: 2

How can I paste my messages from another forum on my posts here? (Frustrated).

It does not properly detect some most likely SSE extensions, but don't let it stop you. It's just a side effect of computers becoming too recent for 3 year old software. Even if in strictly technical terms, there would be a performance degradation, reinforced specs of the newest processors would more than make up for it...

Number 2 is that when I open the same file in PS, LR, online and image viewier, colors of all the different aspect! Help!

Number 3 is my images in LR seem more saturated.

When I plugged in for the first time in the monitor I was using HDMI and I was told this would be the best. When I came across the above problem, it's reccmended for me I use DVI. DVI has helped get richer blacks, but did not help anything else.

And just for a control group, I plugged my old monitor back in and everything's fine, but I would use my new! Help! Thank you

Monitor canned profiles are notoriously inaccurate or downright faulty. Unless you want to go right to the end and calibrate/profile with a bunch of third parties, you are probably much better to simply using sRGB, and that's what happens when you click 'ignore profile.

It's the same solution in the link you posted, only more complicated.

Number 2 is that when I open the same file in PS, LR, online and image viewier, colors of all the different aspect! Help!

Number 3 is my images in LR seem more saturated.

Come back if you still see this with sRGB profile. In general, both Ps and Lr are fully color managed and will use the comprehensive monitor for display profile. Most of the other applications are not, so this isn't entirely unexpected in itself.

When I came across the above problem, it's reccmended for me I use DVI.

Shouldn't matter. Both are completely compatible and the digital video signal is the same.

  • Monitor profile seems to be faulty... Photoshop CC

I have an AOC 931SWL monitor, it is about 4 years old.  A month ago, I bought a new computer HP Envy, IntelCore 3.4 g CPU, 8 GB of RAM, Nvidia Geforce GT 640 4 GB graphics card.

I used Photoshop CC without problem until recently operating system Windows 7 Pro update. Since then, I get this error message when I open Photoshop CC "the monitor profile 831W g2.2 D78 seems to be defective please reun of your monitor calibration software" with choice of ignore use anyway. I click on ignore and it's ok, not ok if I click on use anyway.  It is the only program where I get this message. Illustrator, Corel Paintshop, Corel Painter are all ok just to Photoshop.

I have the original CD that came with the monitor and there the file of the profile on it... 831w. ICM. I also read here in the forum which was suggested to others who have had this same kind of message... but I really need help step by step.  I can replace the current monitor with the original on CD profile and if I where can I find the profile file?

I really want to be careful, I have some knowledge in computers and enough computer... need help.

The profiles provided by the manufacturer are notoriously few reliable and often purely and simply defective. The problem is that they are often pushed through Windows Update to unsuspecting users. Avoid them. If you click on "hide this update" the next time it happens he ain't.

The message of Photoshop means what he says. Choose "Ignore" to throw out and replace it with the default value of Windows, which is sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1. The proper fix is to do a custom profile with a stallion, but if you do not have one he's always better and safer to use sRGB.

The manual to do this is to go into control panel > color management > devices. Restart Photoshop after that you have changed the profile (to look for the right profile at startup):
