  After several installation attempts and 6 days of searching for help, ideas, fixed, I resort to posting here. I get the error 1722 and 1603 tries to install FSX.   Finally understood when FSX would hang on to the entry in the register and give error 1722 and 1603, which writes to the registry was the main issue. I tried to give myself and set permissions in the registry. My UAC (User Account Control) Security Center turned off. I activated my account and UAC after restarting froze. I did a different administrator account for myself and tried to install FSX. It installed and activated.
  My suggestion is to make an another administrator user account. It worked for me, maybe it'll work for you.

  I have a Tablet HP that I install Vista SP1, but instead I immediately get an error 0xc0000033. (The application could not initialize properly (0xc0000033). A message appears saying that MS Installer has stopped working the event name APPCRASH problem. I tried to turn off the system update service, delete the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and restarted the service, but I get the same error. Any ideas?

• Get an IRQL error when reinstalling Vista on a formatted HARD drive.

  My (HP a1700n) office has been very slow, perhaps a virus. I ran Norton NIS and also had Norton disk utilities cleaner.   Once from time to time, you must manually install the patches.  Have you tried to download and run the patch manually (without using Windows Update)?

  If not, you can download the patch here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=160ad53e-6475-4550-90c2-444e4abea730.  Clickk download and then run.  You must accept the agreement, then click on continue.  After installing, restart Microsoft Update and click find updates.  If all goes well, it will show that you are completely patched.

  If this does not work, try to run the Microsoft OneCare safety scanner.  Sometimes it will solve problems of hidden registry, or can clear the virus that can prevent the installation of the patches: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm. Click full service scan, and then Quick scan (full scan takes a long time to complete). Try the patches.

  Use utility diagnostics by the hard drive manufacturer (usually available from the web page of the manufacturer of the hard drive) to perform a complete diagnosis and zeros (low-level format) on disk.

  I installed an oracle customer in my machine and at the same time the machine is having a database express edition installed. My question is how can I do both clients who work?   Oracle XE comes with client libraries. This requires you to set ORACLE_HOME (for connections customer CPI in addition to TCP) and the path to allow the client to load the driver of customer of OIC (DLLS on Windows).

  A pure client installation comes in two flavors. The client of everything-and-kitchen-sink. The instant client (preferably).

  In this case you only need to set the path - that only TCP connections are possible and not of IPC. So no need to set ORACLE_HOME so that the pilot of the OIC customer spawn a process of Oracle server dedicated for himself.

  Multiple clients can coexist. But only a single client can be used at the same time - and I suspect it is the scale of the system. The OIC DLL is not named version as far as I KNOW, which means that 2 customers (the two 32-bit for example) will have a collision of OIC DLL file name. The kernel will load this DLL only once to a path of specific client - and this DLL will be used by all clients of the OIC.

  I suspect that these two environments are mixed (via the session of your operating system environment variables)-so the errors.

  I suggest keeping it simple - and keep the sets for the same selection and totally separate database client driver to use only one.

  Why you have installed several clients? What problem are you trying to solve?

  I suggest you perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

  Unfortunately, none of the above worked. However, I downloaded a file recommended by Flight1 (the creators of one of the 2 games I had problems with) surprisingly, thisinstantly solved the problem it is called http://www.flight1.com/dx7vb.exe.

  Perhaps in the future someone else have this same problem with Vista 64-bit where the game, they could also try this "correction". Of course, it worked for me!
